SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The producer has reasonably considered every precaution possible, so to assure user’s safety. Anyway, in installing and using the grinder, various conditions may create uncontrollable and unpredictable events; so, it’s always necessary to evaluate any risks and consider what follows:

  • Before connecting the grinder, it’s necessary to verify that plate data match with electric net ones.
  • Both installation and repair must respect safety instructions and the inforce rules of the country in which the grinder is installed.

IMPORTANT WARNINGS

  • Do not pull the cable or the grinder itself to disconnect its power cable.

LOCKING THE CONTAINER

Before starting operation, the coffee bean container (2) must be fitted:

  • Insert the container (2) in its seat (Fig.3), aligning the hole with the screw located on the side of the appliance (Fig.4) and lock it in position by tightening the screw. In the case of a tin container, first insert the adapter (17) in its slot (Fig.3) positioning it with the hole aligned with the screw on the side (Fig.4) and lock it in position by tightening the screw.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

INTRODUCTION
This appliance is capable of making very precise doses, as it is based on the grinding time. It is also necessary to fine-tune the machine before starting to work, first of all determining the type of coffee blend (more or less roasted), the degree of grinding, the height of the filter holder fork (8) and the position of the dispensing nozzle (6). The grinding time is then programmed for each dose button by weighing the grinding product.

  • After connecting the appliance to the electricity supply, press the tab (4) at the bottom of the coffee bean container (2) to close it (Fig.5).
  • Remove the lid (1) from the container (2) and fill it with coffee beans.
  • Switch the machine on using the switch (9).
  • Pull the tab (4) allowing the flow of coffee beans.

ADJUSTING THE DISPENSING NOZZLE

  • Depending on the filter holder and the type of coffee beans used, adjust the height of the dispensing nozzle (6)(Fig.7) to allow the coffee to flow out properly.

FILTER-HOLDER FORK ADJUSTMENT

  • With the help of a Phillips screwdriver loosen the screw that holds the filter-holder fork in place (8)(Fig.7).
  • Raise or lower the fork in order to adjust it to the size of the filter holder.
  • Once you have found the correct position, tighten the fork fixing screw (8).

DISPLAY OPERATION
SWITCHING ON THE APPLIANCE

  • The first time the appliance is started up, it is set up with the factory settings. For subsequent start-ups, it maintains the settings prior to the last shutdown.
  • When turned on, the display loads the firmware and prepares for dispensing.

DOSE DISPENSING AND ADJUSTING (DISPLAY)

  • Hold the dose 1 button (15) or the dose 2 button (16) down for a few moments in order to choose the dose to dispense (the button selected will light up).
  • By pressing the chosen dose button again, or the grinding start button (7), coffee dispensing is activated and the time display (10) counts down to zero.
  • Once dispensing has been completed the grinding time returns to the set value. The dose counter (single or double) is increased by 1.
  • Press the buttons (12 ) and (13) to increase or decrease the dispensing time of the selected dose (time visible in seconds on the display).
  • If buttons (12) or (13) are held pressed down for a few moments the time is automatically increased or decreased for the time it is held down.
  • To pause the automatic dispensing before the grinding time is over, press the dose button on the display, or with the filter holder the grinding start button (7). To resume dispensing for the remaining time, press the dose button on the display again or the grinding start button (7). Hold the button down for the dose selected (flashing) to end dispensing. The grinding time will return to the set value.

CONTINUOUS DISPENSING

  • Press buttons (12) and (13) togheter. Once released the adjustment of the dose delivery time is locked. In addition buttons (12) and (13 ) are darkened on the display. Press both buttons (12) and (13) again to unlock the functions.

DOSE COUNTS
Press the central button (11) for 5 seconds and then select one of the counts:

  • Dose 1 button (15) : access to the count of dose 1s dispensed;
  • Dose 2 button (16) : access to the count of dose 2s dispensed;
  • Dose 1 button (15) and dose 2 button (16) : access to the dose count for continuous doses dispensed expressed in seconds;

Only the selected keys remain lit on the display or the numbers of the doses are shown two by two in succession. For example, if the total number of doses is 142536, the display shows 14, 25 and 36 for two seconds each.
After the last pair of digits, there is a pause for a few seconds and then the sequence starts again.

  • To exit the count, press the central button (11) .

DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS ADJUSTMENT

  • Press the central button for 5 seconds (11) and then select buttons (12) or (13) respectively to decrease or increase brightness. On the screen display (10) the levels of brightness will appear from 1 to 7.
  • To exit the count, press the central button (11) .

STANDBY

  • After 1 minute of inactivity the display will go into standby mode with only the central button staying active (11) . To exit the standby mode press the central button (11) On the display the main screen will be activated.

GRINDING ADJUSTMENT
To adjust the grinding, use the adjustment knob (3) (Fig.6), turning it clockwise to make the powder finer or anticlockwise to increase the granules as shown on the knob. The adjustment is without stops; it must be carried out gradually, grinding a little coffee every 2 notches at the most.

ATTENTION

  • If the knob is turned by one full turn with the motor stopped, the machine may stop.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

ATTENTION

  • Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before carrying out any cleaning and maintenance operations. Do not pull the power cord or the appliance itself to disconnect the plug from the power supply socket..
  • Maintenance and cleaning operations must be carried out by specialized personnel authorized by the manufacturer.
  • Do not carry out makeshift or precarious repairs, much less use non-original spare parts.

CLEANING

  • Cleaning is a critical aspect for the correct operation of the coffee grinder. A neglected coffee grinder can have a negative impact on coffee brewing and on the accuracy of dosing and grinding. Before cleaning, make sure the appliance is unplugged.

CLEANING THE HOPPER

  • After removing the hopper from the machine, wash the inside of the same with water and neutral detergent, removing the oily layer left by the coffee beans. Rinse it and dry it thoroughly. Repeat the process for the plastic lid. Do not wash in the dishwasher. Cleaning is recommended at least once a week.

CLEANING THE GRINDING SYSTEM

  • After removing the lid, open the upper grinder holder. Then clean the grinders and other internal parts with a brush or a dry cloth. If necessary, use a vacuum cleaner or a jet of compressed air. After putting back the upper grinder holder and the lid, insert the hopper.
  • For complete sanitation, use commercially available detergent tablets for coffee grinders.

ATTENTION

All cleaning and sanitising operations must be carried out with products approved for use with food.

MAINTENANCE

Check and potentially replace the grinders every 500/600 kg of coffee. To maintain the grinders disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply and remove the coffee bean container (2). Then unscrew the screws underneath that fix the upper grinder holder. To clean the grinders, use a brush or a dry cloth; if necessary use a vacuum cleaner or a jet of compressed air.

ATTENTION

  • Maintenance must only be carried out by specialized personnel authorized by the manufacturer.
  • Do not carry out makeshift or precarious repairs, much less use non-original spare parts.
