Installation
The module should be connected to the detection control panel using a 2-wire
twisted and shielded conductor. This conductor is used for both power supply
and bidirectional digital communication. Refer to the control panel’s manual
for installation details and wiring instructions.
The module must be connected to the control panel via a 2 pole twisted-
shielded cable. This cable carries both the power supply and the two-way
digital communications data (refer to the control panel installation manual,
section for the wiring diagram).
Attention
The installation must be carried out in accordance with the national
regulations governing installations and the power source to be switched to the
output must be provided through a bipolar protection device.
The wire used for wiring of the product must have an adequate section and
comply with the IEC 60332-1-2 or IEC 60332-2-2 standards. The module has a
short-circuit isolator which, in the event of short-circuit between the two
poles of the control panel loop cable, is capable of interrupting the negative
pole and thus isolating the sec-tion involved in the short-circuit. For the
isolator specification, please refer to the <ILP Specification= document. The
plastic box can be fitted on a standard 35mm DIN bar or in any electrical box
by means of the flanges with the fixing holes. The module occupies 2 addresses
on loops with protocol INIM.
Attention
The device must be installed inside a fireproof enclosure.
The two removable serial number stickers should be taken off the module; one
should be attached to the box where the device is to be housed, the other to
the installation layout. Once all the loop devices have been properly
connected, refer to the control panel installation and programming manual for
instructions regarding the configuration and addressing procedures.
Product Code: DCMIIN4AEM322AC-101-20221108
Product description
The module EM322AC allows the interfacing of external devices to an analogue-
addressed control panel by means of two monitored inputs and two relay outputs
(which can be activated independently) capable of switching 24V or 230V loads.
Note
The EM322AC are certified and approved in accordance with EN54-17 Short-
circuit isolators and EN54-18 3 Input/Output devices.
Terminals
Loop| Terminals for the connection to the loop.|
---|---|---
IN1| Supervised input terminals: allow you to obtain the status of one
or more contacts and report it to the control panel. It is used to connect
external devices such as linear smoke detectors with output relays or any type
of device equipped with one or more output relays to the control panel.|
Stand-by resistor: 22k Ohm Alarm resistor: 2k2 Ohm
IN2
OUT1| Supervised dry-contact output terminals: allow activation of
devices such as electromagnets for fire doors, etc.| Bistable relay, maintains
the switching status sent by the control panel
OUT2
LED signallings
ALARM | red | Input in alarm status |
---|---|---|
FAULT | yellow | Fault on monitored outputs (voltage less than 7V or |
current absorption greater than 2mA) Input fault Isolator fault
OUT| green| Output activated
Monitor Contacts
The module can monitor each output by checking the voltage across the 8NO9
contact. It is possible to enable or disable the monitoring of each output
after changing the position of the jumper on the 8Monitor9 contacts:
Attention
The jumper connectors are connected directly to the output voltage.
Using the EDRV2000 driver
The EDRV2000 driver allows you to change the operating parameters of the
detectors, check the contamination level of the smoke chambers and also obtain
accurate diagnostic data. It can operate through the USB port of a computer
furnished with the relative software programme, or can function autonomously
by way of the battery housed inside. Each detector is capable of retaining
memory (smoke and/or temperature depending on the model) of the 5 minutes
prior to an alarm. Therefore, if an alarm occurs, it will be possible to
obtain information regarding the onset of the fire by simply connecting the
EDRV2000 driver to the detection line. For further information and details
regarding use of the EDRV2000 driver, refer to the respective handbook.
Testing and maintenance
The functionality of the module should be tested immediately after
installation and periodically during maintenance inspections, in accordance
with the established standard regulations and codes in force.

lnformative notice regarding the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment (applicable in countries with differentiated waste collection systems) The crossed-out bin symbol on the equipment or on its packaging indicates that the product must be disposed of correctly at the end of its working life and should never be disposed of together with general household waste. The user, therefore, must take the equipment that has reached the end of its working life to the appropriate civic amenities site designated to the differentiated collection of electrical and electronic waste. As an alternative to the autonomous-management of electrical and electronic waste, you can hand over the equipment you wish to dispose of to a dealer when purchasing new equipment of the same type. You are also entitled to convey for disposal small electronic-waste products with dimensions of less than 25cm to the premises of electronic retail outlets with sales areas of at least 400m2, free of charge and without any obligation to buy. Appropriate differentiated waste collection for the subsequent recycling of the discarded equipment, its treatment and its environmentally compatible disposal helps to avoid possible negative effects on the envi-ronment and on health and favours the re-use and/or recycling of the materials it is made of.
