EVERY 6 MONTHS De-Scale the boiler (see page 15)

YEARLY Replace the O-Rings on the hose handle and extension wands.

De-Scaling

DESCALING THE BOILER AND ELECTRONIC SENSOR

  • Every 6 Months

To extend the life of your SeaHawk, we recommend descaling the boiler and the electronic sensor. After prolonged periods of activity, limescale deposits make the boilers of most steam appliances unusable.

How to De-Scale

  1. Unplug from the wall.
    • The boiler should be cooled to room temperature.
    • Remove the vacuum collection tank and empty it.
  2. Turn the steamer upside down, identifying the boiler cap.
    •  Unscrew by turning counter-clockwise and remove.
    •  Clean the sensor on the boiler cap with a scouring pad removing any encrusted deposits.
  3. Descaling the boiler: Pour the de-scaling solution consisting of 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of water into the boiler and replace the cap by turning clockwise until tight.
  4. Turn the SeaHawk ON for approximately 1 minute, then turn it off.
    • Leave the de-scaling solution in the boiler for 60 minutes.
  5. Empty the de-scaling solution from the boiler by turning over the SeaHawk and removing the cap draining the excess descaling solution.
  6. Fill the boiler with tap water to rinse.
  7. If the rinse water is clear of mineral deposits then the SeaHawk is ready for use. ØYou may need to re-rinse the boiler if the water is not clear.
