The graphic symbols at the bottom of the set mean the following:

DANGEROUS VOLTAGE: The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

ATTENTION: The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

WARNING:

  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.

  • The mains plug is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
  • In order to disconnect the apparatus from the mains completely, the mains plug should be disconnected from the mains socket outlet completely

LASER SAFETY
This unit employs an optical laser beam system in the CD mechanism, designed with built in safeguards. Do not attempt to disassemble, refer to qualified service personnel. Exposure to this invisible laser light beam may be harmful to the human eye.

THIS IS A CLASS-1 LASER PRODUCT. USE OF CONTROLS, OR ADJUSTMENTS OR PROCEDURES OTHER THAN THOSE SPECIFIED HEREIN, MAY RESULT IN HAZARDOUS LASER LIGHT BEAM EXPOSURE.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  5. Do not use this product near water and moisture, for example: near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub; in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool.
  6. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  7. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  8. The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
  9. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  10. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  11. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  12. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  13. Do not overload wall outlet. Use only power source as indicated.
  14. Use replacement parts as specified by the manufacturer.
  15. Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in fire or electric shock. Never spill or spray any type of liquid on the product.
  16. Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks.
  17. The apparatus should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your appliance dealer or local power company. For apparatus intented to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions.
  18. Do not attempt to service the apparatus yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  19. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no object filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
  20. Mains plug is used as disconnect device and it should remain readily accessible during intented use. In order to disconnect the apparatus from the mains completely, the mains plug should be disconnected from the main socket outlet completely.
  21. Minimum distance 10 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation.
  22. No naked flame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on the apparatus.
  23. Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
  24. Use the apparatus in moderate climates.
  25. Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss.
  26. Maximum output voltage: ≤ 150mV.
  27. Caution marking is located at the bottom of the apparatus.
  28. The marking information is located on the back cover of the apparatus.
  29. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.

WARNING: All packaging materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, wire ties and tags are not part of this product and should be discarded.

POWER SOURCES

The CD Player operates on AC 230V ~ 50Hz or with 6 x 1.5V C/LR14 size batteries (not included)

AC operation

  1. Check that the unit is switched off.
  2. Insert the small end of the AC cord into the AC socket at the back of the unit.
  3. Plug the other end of the AC cord into any convenient mains power socket.

Battery installation

  1. To install the batteries, open the battery compartment located under the unit by pressing down on the tabs, then lifting it up.
  2. Insert 6 x 1.5V C/LR14 size batteries (not included) observing the polarity indicated in the compartment, and as per the diagram shown opposite.
  3. Close the battery compartment.

Notes: The AC power cord must be disconnected from the AC socket on the rear of the unit in order for the product to operate on battery power.
On CD and AUX in mode, the unit goes to sleep after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity. Press PLAY/PAUSE (7) button to leave the sleeping mode.

Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the product before being charged. Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision. Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed. Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the product. The supply terminals are not to be short circuited. Do not throw batteries into a fire. Remove the batteries if you are not going to use the game for a long period of time. Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

WARNING: Malfunction or loss of memory may be caused by strong frequency interference or electrostatic discharge. Should any abnormal function occur, remove the batteries and insert them again, or unplug the unit from the mains socket and re-plug it again.

FUNCTIONS & MODES

TURN ON THE LIGHT EFFECTS
To turn the light effects on or off, press the button

PLAY A CD

  1. Lift the CD compartment lid, carefully place a disc on the centre spindle with the printed label side facing up and close the CD compartment.
  2. Slide the FUNCTION switch to CD position. The power indicator will light up and the LED display will show the total number of tracks on the disc.
  3. Press PLAY/PAUSE button and the CD will start playing from the first track.
  4. Adjust the sound level using the volume control buttons (6 & 9).
  5. To pause playback, press PLAY/PAUSE button (7). The playback indicator on the display will flash.
  6. To resume playback, press PLAY/PAUSE (7) once again. The playback indicator will glow steadily.
  7. To stop playback, press STOP (8)

NAVIGATE BETWEEN AUDIO TRACKS

  1. When the CD is stopped, to play your favourite track directly, locate the desired track using SKIP FORWARDS (4) or SKIP BACKWARDS (5) and press PLAY/PAUSE (7).
  2. When listening to a CD, press SKIP FORWARDS (4) to play the next track. Press SKIP BACKWARDS (5) once to go back to the beginning of the track currently playing. Press the same button twice or more to play the previous tracks.
  3. To search forward or backward through the playing track, press and hold SKIP FORWARDS (4) or SKIP BACKWARDS (5) to locate a specific musical passage. The player will move forward or backward at high speed as long as the button is pressed. Stop pressing the button to return to normal playback.

Note:

  • If a disc is installed incorrectly, dirty or damaged, it will not play.
  • As each track is played, the track number is shown on the display.
  • To prevent damage to the disc, never open the CD door while the disc is rotating. Wait for the disc to stop before opening the CD door. Never touch the lens when the CD door is open.
  • Do not use the carrying handle when playing CD. The product should only be used on a steady surface.

CD REPEAT AND RANDOM PLAY

  1. During CD playback, press once the “REPEAT1/ALL/RANDOM” (14) button to repeat the current track. The repeat indicator will flash on the display.
  2. Press twice the “REPEAT1/ALL/RANDOM” button (14) to repeat all tracks on the CD. The repeat indicator will glow steadily.
  3. Press the same button a third time to start the songs in shuffle play. The indicator light will blink.
  4. To cancel the repeat and random features, press the “NORMAL” button (13). The indicator light will turn off.

BLUETOOTH PAIRING

  1. Slide the FUNCTIONS selector to the BT (Bluetooth mode) position.
  2. Activate the Bluetooth function of your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.)
  3. Confirm pairing with the player name (RCD109) to connect your device to the player.
  4. When your device and player are connected, a signal will sound. Turn on an audio or video file.
  5. To stop pairing with the reader, select another mode with the FUNCTIONS selector.

Your audio player must support the A2DP Bluetooth® profile to match this portable karaoke. Please refer to your audio player’s instruction manual for accurate information about the Bluetooth® profiles it supports, and how to set up Bluetooth® pairing.

NOTE: Some music players do not fully support Bluetooth® audio controls. Play/pause, previous and next buttons on the Bluetooth® speaker may not respond. The music player may also turn off. To get the best control experience in the said player, use the onscreen track controls of your music player rather than those on the speaker.

CD PROGRAMMATION

Use the program function to preselect the order in which a sequence of tracks will be played. Up to 20 tracks can be programmed.

  1. Slide the FUNCTION switch to CD position and insert a disc or make sure the unit is not playing a disc.
  2. Press the PROGRAM button. The program sequence “01” will blink on the LED display and the program indicator will blink as well.
  3. Use SKIP FORWARDS or SKIP BACKWARDS to select the first track to include in the programmed sequence.
  4. Press PROGRAM to confirm and save the track.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to program the other desired tracks.
  6. Press PLAY to start playback. The tracks will be played in the programmed order.
  7. Press the STOP button to stop playback, or press it twice to cancel the programmed sequence. The programming indicator will turn off when canceled.
AUX IN OPERATION

You can play music through the speakers of this CD Player by connecting its AUX IN jack to your MP3 or other digital audio player.

  1. Slide the FUNCTION selector to the AUX position.
  2. Adjust the VOLUME control to your desired listening level.
  3. Use the function keys of your audio device to pause and resume the playback, adjust the volume and select the next or the previous track.
  4. To stop the music, remove the plug from the AUX IN jack.
WARRANTY

To prevent fire or shock hazard, disconnect your unit from the AC power source when cleaning. This product is covered by our 2-year warranty.
