Product Usage Instructions
- Safety Warnings:

- Open the equipment according to the instructions provided.
- Opening the Equipment:
- Press the recessed areas to open the equipment.
- Recommended height for opening: 1450 mm
- Closing the Equipment:
- Close the equipment by pressing the bottom part of the cover until it is fully closed.
- Locking the Equipment with a Lock:
- Ensure that the cover is properly closed before inserting the lock.
- The force for closing is provided by the cover and base, not the lock.
- Equipment with T2 Cable Closure:
- Once the box is closed, screw it using the two included screws.
- Balance of Power with Housing:
- Switch 1 ON: Power balancing with housing activated.
- Switch 1 OFF: Power balancing with housing deactivated.
- Balance of Power with Photovoltaic:
- Switch 3 ON: Power balancing with photovoltaic activated.

SECURITY WARNINGS

The installation and maintenance of the equipment must be performed by properly trained and qualified personnel.

Strictly comply with the current safety standards according to the regulations in your country.

The installer and/or maintenance personnel must be properly protected against the risk of accidents caused by direct and indirect contact.

Before manipulating the equipment, make sure that it is not connected to a power source.
-
Verify that the equipment is always connected to the earth connection of the installation, and that this earth connection complies with the requirements indicated in current regulations.
-
The installation must be inspected at least once a year by a qualified technician.
-
Stop using any equipment with defects or imperfections that may put users at risk (broken plugs, cables in poor condition, etc.).
-
Only use original Simon S.A.U. accessories and replacements.
-
Do not use this equipment for EV charging modes not listed in regulation IEC 61851.
-
Simon S.A.U. is not responsible for damages that may arise from inadequate use of the equipment, nor from manipulations that modify the original state of the equipment or the included protections.

Adaptors for other types of connectors are not provided, and adaptors should not be used unless explicitly approved by Simon.

Do not install the recharging station in places where there is a risk of falling objects that could damage the equipment.

The surface where the recharging station will be located must support
the mechanical forces that arise from normal use of the charger and environmental risks, as well as knocks and traction, torsion or shear force. -
Do not install the equipment on unstable ground.
-
Do not perform installation near areas where water or other liquids might penetrate the equipment.
ELECTRICAL PROTECTIONS
The electrical protections that are included depend on the Art. No. (see
table):
- Automatic C-curve miniature circuit breaker switch, to protect from overcharges and short circuits according to ITC-BT-52. The minimum breaking capacity of the miniature circuit breaker protection device is 6 kA. Included in the references that incorporate a RCBO device.
- Residual current circuit breaker switch, to protect against direct and indirect contacts according to ITC-BT-52: The residual current circuit breaker switch must be at least Class A and have a sensitivity of 30 mA. Included in the references that incorporate a RCBO device.
- Temporary and transitional surge protection. The surge protection devices are intended for a maximum surge of up to 440 V between phase and neutral. Included in units with SPD.
- Automatic meter reset device for scheme 2 of the ITC-BT-52. Included in units with SPD EM.
POWER AND ENERGY MEASURE
Each unit has an intensity transformer to obtain consumption data for
statistical and informative use when connected to the Simon Plug&Drive APP.
Some units include an MID-certified energy meter (see table). The MID
certificate is necessary to impact consumption.
POWER LINE SIZING
The equipment power line sizing must be performed by a qualified technician.
Various factors influence the choice of cable, such as the length between the
distribution box and the equipment, the maximum output current, the ambient
temperature, etc.
Therefore, it is important to choose the correct cable cross-section, power
cable type, and maximum equipment power in accordance with local regulations.
INSTALLATION
- The charger is designed for indoor or outdoor installation. For outdoor installation, it is recommended that it be installed in covered parking lots, avoiding roof drains.
- The mounting surface of the equipment must be adequate to support the weight of the loader and withstand the forces associated with the loading process.

Keep your country’s specifications in mind.
- Mark the holes on the wall with the help of a pencil or a sharp object.

Power connection
- The indications defined in the Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulations must be followed for installation. An earth connection resistance value of less than 100 Ω is recommended (required by the majority of electric vehicles), and if this value is exceeded, corrective measures should be taken during installation to reduce it.
- The voltage between neutral and earth must be close to 0 V, with a maximum recommended value of 1 V. The voltage between phases and neutral, in three-phase models, should be as balanced as possible.
- If necessary, install a cable gland to maintain the equipment’s IP protection grade.
MAXIMUM OUTPUT POWER ADJUSTMENT
The maximum output power of the unit can be adjusted by means of a selector on
the unit:

Warning! For units with Bluetooth enabled, configuration must be done
from the Simon Plug&Drive APP. When Bluetooth mode is enabled, the selector is
disabled.
For equipment with power modulator, see the specific table in the accessory
instruction sheet.
SWITCH CONFIGURATION
For basic units without accessories or Bluetooth communications, leave all in the OFF position.
SWITCH 1

It is necessary to have the following accessory installed: 0695000-030 Home dynamic load manager for single-phase units or 0695000-040 Home dynamic load manager for three-phase units.

A device with Bluetooth or the 0695000-020 Bluetooth connection accessory must be installed.

It is necessary to have the following accessory installed: 0695000-050 Photovoltaic single-phase dynamic load manager for single-phase units or 0695000-060 Photovoltaic three-phase dynamic load manager for three-phase units.

The unit must be installed along with the Electron Manager and configured according to the corresponding manual.
CLOSING THE UNIT
Press the unit cover from the bottom until it is closed.
Close:
Units with T2 cable:
- Lock closure:
The lid must be properly closed before inserting the lock. Closure is achieved by joining the cover and base, not by inserting the lock.
It is important to insert the lock straight as indicated in the image. Turn
clockwise to lock.
The key can only be removed if the lock is locked.
- Units with T2 base
Once the box is closed, tighten it with the two screws provided.
Choose the most suitable mechanism for closing the box, depending on where the equipment is installed:

OPERATION
SM34 Residential series unit allows the charging of an electric vehicle in mode 3 using a type 2 connector. A LEDs set on the front of the unit shows its status:

Orange: Unit locked
-
Purple: The unit does not have enough power to start charging the vehicle (Units with a manager)
The unit is receiving <7 A, so it will not start charging the vehicle. Depending on the vehicle model, it may not charge at powers higher than the minimum, so it may show purple. -
Green: Unit available
-
Blue: Vehicle charging
-
Blinking blue: Charging complete or not started due to lack of consumption
-
Blinking blue/green: Waiting for the cable to be inserted or removed
-
Yellow: Reserved outlet
-
Red: Recharging point error, not usable
-
White: Unit stopped based on schedule
CHARGING PROCESS
To charge a vehicle, follow these steps:
- If the charger is orange (locked), activate it from the APP or by holding up the RFID card (depending on the model). The LEDs will turn from orange to green.
- Connect the ends of the cable to the charger and the vehicle.
- Check that the LEDs turn from green to solid blue, which indicates that charging has begun successfully.
- When the vehicle is completely charged, the LEDs will begin to blink blue.
- To finish charging, hold the RFID card near the antenna symbol on the unit.
- Disconnect the vehicle.
AVAILABLE ACCESSORIES
Card reader.
All SM34 units allow a card reader to be added as an accessory so the recharging station can be activated with a card. 2 RFID cards are included are included with the reader accessory. For more information, please see the card reader manual.
Bluetooth communications module.
All SM34 units allow a Bluetooth communications module to be added as an
accessory so the recharging station can be activated with a card. For more
information, please see the communications module manual.
Home dynamic load manager.
A dynamic load manager can be added to balance the power of the charging
point, prioritizing other consumption in the installation. There are different
versions depending on whether the installation is single-phase or three-phase.

Photovoltaic dynamic load manager.
A dynamic load manager can be added to installations that generate energy with
photovoltaic panels in order to optimize the power of the recharging point by
taking the amount of energy being generated into account. For more
information, please see the manual on home dynamic load management.
Vertical mounting column
In locations where the unit cannot be wall mounted, a column can be purchased
for vertical mounting. There are versions for a single charger or for two
chargers.
