Our chief science officer and in-house naturopathic doctor oversees all product
development from farm to capsule or cream. We have also gathered an amazing
group of naturopathic doctors with diverse backgrounds in integrative
dermatology, women’s health, sports medicine, clinical nutrition and Ayurveda
to contribute their ideas. Our supplements are formulated with standardized
ingredients, the most bioavailable form, high-quality sources, and clinically
studied concentrations. Our condition-focused skincare products are developed
using botanicals and oils that effectively treat the underlying cause while
nourishing the skin at the same time.

How We Formulate
Our Products
All of our products, whether a topical or supplement, are developed with the
root cause in mind. Our Chief Science Officer undertakes the process of
developing the whitepaper for any potential formulation. Next, we determine
what mechanisms of actions to address and then align those with the best
plant-based ingredients for the job. Each potential ingredient will then be
evaluated based on the published data and the quality of the studies to
determine efficacy. The initial ingredient candidates must then undergo more
evaluation looking at clinically relevant dosages, pharmacokinetics, and plant
synergy. In addition to finding the best botanicals, we also evaluate the
safety of each ingredient. We review studies, and utilize many resources and
reference materials including the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) data and
botanical monographs.

Our Skincare
Our Skincare Topicals are made in a certified ISO 22716 facility in which they
strictly follow cGMPs (cosmetic good manufacturing practices). Our Chief
Science Officer commu-nicates with them to ensure quality and consistency
throughout the entire process. In addition, our partnered facility maintains
SOPs (standard operating procedures) which are maintained for the employees to
be trained correctly and manufacture consistent products. The facility also
retains all depart-ment-specific documents, including batch records and fill
records. All of these checks and balances confirm the compliance, as well as
the annual audits and certifications according to ISO 22716 Cosmetic GMPs- they
also encourage us to audit them as well. Our partnered lab is also FDA-
compliant for cosmetic and drug (OTC – Over-the-Counter) manufacturing as well
as a certified B corpo-ration, and recognized as a USDA organic facility
.

Our Nutraceuticals
Our nutraceuticals are made in an FDA compliant and certified ISO17025
facility, which is one of the few in the industry. In addition to strictly
following cGMP’s, they hold UL third-party certification adding another layer
of quality and compliance to their practices. Our partnered facility is also
certified to produce organic products from Quality Assurance International
(QAI), known worldwide as the gold standard in organic certification. Each step
of the production process is meticulously tracked through an automated ERP
system and all raw materials and final products are meticulously tested. Our
chief science officer works with them directly to ensure quality and consistency
throughout the entire process to the finished COA (certificate of analysis).

Storage & Shipping
We have a long-standing relationship with a logistics company based in Los Angeles California near our office to store and ship our products. We like the fact that we can stop in anytime and how transparent they are with us. Our partnered storage facility closely monitors both temperature and humidity levels and has state of the art software that provides us all the information we need.
Quality Control
Our topical products undergo HRIPT (Human Repeat Insult Patch Tests). This test is the personal care products’ industry standard for determining allergy safety. The HRIPT is a sensitization test used to assess the likelihood of allergic reactions, irritation and sensitization. This method of clinical testing is performed on a panel of 50-200 volunteer testers across a period of six weeks. In HRIPT, the product being tested is applied to patches and adhered to the skin of the test subject’s back. The patches are applied for short intervals, repeatedly, over the course of the study. Skin reactions are observed and analyzed by dermatologists throughout the testing period to gauge the product’s potential for allergic reactions and confirm the products’ allergenicity.
