LET’S GET YOU UP AND RUNNING
Remove the PILLAR from its packaging. Be sure to grab the package under the base. You should have:
- Base
- Water tank and lid #1B73246
- Remote (includes a CR2025 battery) #1B73244
- Essential oil diffuser pad #AURP10PK
- Essential oil tray #1B73248
- Demineralization cartridge (this is in the Styrofoam cube) #DC4003PK
- AC adapter #1B73247
- Owner’s manual #1B73380
Install the demineralization cartridge in the bottom of your tank (not in the base)
- Remove the demineralization cartridge from the Styrofoam cube.
- Look inside your water tank and locate the water release port on the bottom of the tank. It has a black rubber ring around it.
- Hold the demineralization cartridge with the beads on top, then press the cartridge into the slot around the water release port. Twist the cartridge clockwise until it clicks into place over the port.
- Your demineralization cartridge helps break down the minerals naturally found in water – improving your air quality and preventing the white dust people sometimes notice with ultrasonic humidifiers. You should replace your cartridge every 60-90 days.
- Put your PILLAR base on a level surface in the room where humidity is most needed. To avoid condensation, make sure the unit is at least two inches from the wall and not under a window.
Note: The PILLAR is an ultrasonic humidifier, so it emits a very fine mist. Position the lid to direct this mist away from furnishings and electronics.
- Put the water tank on the base and fill the tank. Your PILLAR holds 1.7 gallons of water
About water additives
-
Do not add essential oils directly to the PILLAR water tank. Only add them to the essential oil tray.
-
Do not use water softeners.
-
To add essential oils, remove the essential oil tray from the side of the PILLAR base. Add a few drops of essential oil to the tray pad. Add more oil to your liking. Only use essential oils in the tray; any brand will work with the PILLAR.
-
Attach the AC adapter to the PILLAR and plug in your unit and remove the plastic tab from the remote.
- Press the power button on either the unit or the remote. Your PILLAR has three mist output levels and it will be on the highest output when you turn it on. Pushing the power button again will set the output to medium, and pressing it again will set the output to low.
- Press the humidity setting button on either the unit or the remote to set your humidity level from 25% to 65%. Your mist output will pause when the set humidity level is reached, and resume when the humidity dips below your setting. When set to 65%, your unit will run continuously.
- Press the timer button on either the unit or the remote to run your PILLAR for a set period of 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. The timer icons will show on the display when the timer is on. Turn the timer off by pressing the timer button again.
About the display
- While running, your PILLAR will alternately display the temperature and relative humidity on the screen.
- When the water tank is empty, the unit will beep and display a red water droplet on the screen. Your PILLAR will turn off until it is refilled.
- That’s it! Your PILLAR is ready to use.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR PILLAR
Regular cleaning is important for preventing mold, mildew, and other bacterial growth in your humidifier. It also keeps your PILLAR working its best
NOTE: Do not allow any liquid to get into the air intake while you are cleaning your PILLAR.
- Let the unit run until it’s empty, then turn it off and unplug it.
- Remove the tank and pour out any remaining water from the tank and base.
- Remove the demineralization cartridge from the bottom of the tank. Throw your cartridge away if it is time to replace it. Otherwise, rinse it well with running water and put it in a sink while you finish cleaning your PILLAR.
- Fill the water tank half-full with warm water and 2 ½ cups of white vinegar. Use a cup to scoop out a little of this mixture and pour it into the base. Swish the remaining water-vinegar mixture around the tank. Let this sit for 20 minutes.
- With the mixture in the base, use a soft cloth to clean the inside of the base. Gently scrub the oscillator (the dark ring in the basin). Let it sit for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, empty the water tank and base.
- Dampen a sponge with white vinegar and wipe down the base, tank, and lid. Rinse everything thoroughly.
- Wipe everything dry and replace the demineralization cartridge, if needed. Then reassemble.
When storing your PILLAR, discard the used demineralization cartridge and clean the unit as described above. Dry the unit thoroughly, and store in a temperature-regulated area. Do not install a new demineralization cartridge until you are ready to use your humidifier again.
