Installation Guide
Thank you for purchasing Occupancy sensor for TOSHIBA air conditioners.
- Read this manual carefully for correct installation of the Occupancy sensor before starting work.
- After the installation is completed, execute a test run to check for normal operation.
Ask the customer to keep this manual.
1) Accessories
Installing the Occupancy sensor
Install the Occupancy sensor in correct orientation, since the Occupancy sensor can be installed at only one corner as shown in (Fig. A).
- Remove the air intake grill.
- Remove the adjust corner cap at the corner where the Occupancy sensor is to be installed. (Fig. B)
-
The heat insulator is packed in the square holes for ceiling panel wires. Remove the heat insulators temporarily, and pass the wire from the Occupancy sensor through the square hole. (Fig. C)
-
Pull the black seal material that covers the wires by approx 20 mm out of the square hole on the indoor unit side, and then clamp the wires with the supplied cord clamp tightened with the screw. (Fig. C)
*Securely position the black seal material. Failure to do so may cause water leakage or dew drop on the unit and wires.
-
Attach the Occupancy sensor to the ceiling panel, while taking care not to catch the wires (Fig. D).
Push the Occupancy sensor so that the three claws B and two claws A are fitted and check that these claws are aligned. Improper fitting of those claws on the Occupancy sensor may cause water leakage.
NOTE
Do not bundle the wire from the Occupancy sensor together with the power wire to avoid malfunction.
Wiring the Occupancy sensor
-
Remove the screw A for fixing the electrical control box cover and loose the screw B. Slide the cover inside so that hook part can be removed. (The electrical control box cover remain being hooked on the hinge).
-
Connect the Occupancy sensor lead wire to the CN214 (white, 9P) on the P.C. board in the indoor unit.
NOTE
Failure to connect them cause a trouble as the sensor does not work.
♦ Clamp the redundant portion of the wires with the cord clamps in the electrical control box and install the electrical control box cover and the air intake grill.
CODE No. (DN) setting
♦ Wired remote controller (RBC-A S 5 )
Perform the advanced settings for the air conditioner.
Carry out the setting operation while the indoor unit is stopped. (Turn off
the air conditioning unit before starting the setting operation.)
About the Occupancy sensor
- Sometimes the sensor may not detect people even when they are present if their movements are small.
- If something having a difference in temperature with the surroundings moves, the sensor may detect people as present even if they are not present.
- A wired remote controller (RBC-A S 5 ) is required to use an occupancy sensor.
- Be sure to install an occupancy sensor in all indoor units if using group operation.
CAUTION
Wireless remote controller kit cannot be used together with the Occupancy sensor.
