Fire Barrel Lava

Sunwind fire pit Lava

Sunwind fire pit Lava is produced to minimize the smoke generated by a campfire so you can enjoy your time in front of the fire with your family. With its double walls, the fire pit ensures that cool air circulates through the air holes in the bottom and gradually heats up in the warm walls of the fire pit. The hot air rises and helps the fire pit to ignite the toxic flue gases at the top of the firepit. This will minimize the smoke. When the air flows from the bottom of the fire you will get a much more intense flame image. This also leads to less ashes and good utilization of the wood. The practical carrying bag ensures that you can easily pack up the fire barrel and take it on a trip. Cooking grid can be bought as an optional extra.

Warning!
For outdoor use only! Must be placed on a stable surface. Only use dry wood. The surface should not be flammable material. When used on flammable material, this is done at your own risk. Keep in mind that ember and sparks can swirl up during use, which may cause damage to the surface or the surrounding environment. Keep children and pets at safe distance. Part of the firepit can get very hot! For ideal usage, we recommend that you place the product where the wind is steady.

Daily use:

Step 1 : Remove the nested flame ring and set it aside.

Step 3: Light your fire. We recommend using kindling briquettes and light the fire from the top. In this way you get as little smoke as possible when lighting up.
Step 4: Place the flame ring back on top of the firepit with the angled edges pointing upward. This will provide protection from the wind and enhance the look of the wind. See illustration on the right for correct placement:
Use Position
Step 5: Gently add additional logs as needed.
Step 6: Let the stove to burn out on its own. Do not use water or other extinguishing methods.
Step 7: After the stove has completely cooled down, turn it over to empty any remaining ash.
Step 8: Place the fire pit in the carrying bag and store it in a cool and dry location. Make sure the firepit is dry before you store it away.

Storage and maintenance

After each use, wait until the unit has completely cooled down, then turn the stove over to empty any remaining ash. If you want to wipe it down, use only a dry cloth. Always place your fire pit in its carrying bag and store in a cool/dry location. The carrying bag can also be used as a temporary outdoor cover. Due to extremely high temperatures, discoloration of the stove will occur and is considered normal. Stainless steel has an increased resistance to rust; however, it is not rustproof. Prolonged exposure to moisture may result in increased staining and/or rusting. Due to extremely high temperatures inside of the stove may show signs of staining/rust. This is normal and will not affect normal use.

Tips:

  • When you first use your stove, it will take approximately 5-15 minutes to achieve full efficiency and the visual flame images is visible. Try to keep the flames as evenly as possible for best effect.
  • Use dry woods for best results.
  • Overfilling the stove above the top air holes will decrease efficiency and will produce more smoke.
  • Store your stove in a cool and dry location. Prolonged exposure to harsh weather will increase rust and discoloration.
