Product Information
The XENONTM ULTRA 1962G is a cordless scanner developed by Honeywell. It offers enhanced scan performance and premium features for retailers, continuing the legacy of barcode technology. The scanner is designed to provide freedom of movement for retail associates, eliminating the need to manage cables and allowing more space for completing transactions. It delivers enhanced scanning performance, even on damaged and poor-quality barcodes, reducing wasted time in retail transactions. The scanner comes with disinfectant-ready housings, allowing it to be regularly cleaned with a variety of cleaning solutions without damaging the product. It can accept multiple power sources, including a battery-free supercapacitor or a standard lithium-ion battery. The battery-free technology runs on supercapacitors instead of a battery and can achieve a full charge in less than four minutes via the USB Port. The scanner typically provides at least 450 scans without recharging, making it ideal for self-checkout applications or as a secondary scanner to a bioptic scanner.
Product Usage Instructions
To use the XENONTM ULTRA 1962G scanner, follow these instructions:
- Ensure that the scanner is charged. If using the battery-free supercapacitor, it can achieve a full charge in less than four minutes via the USB Port (under 60 seconds when using a powered USB port or external wall adapter).
- If using the lithium-ion battery, make sure it is properly inserted into the scanner.
- Connect the scanner to your host system using one of the available interfaces: USB, Keyboard Wedge, or RS-232.
- Aim the green-dot aimer at the barcode you want to scan to enhance targeting and improve scan accuracy.
- Press the scan button on the scanner or trigger the scanner by pressing the scan button on your host system.
- The scanner will capture and decode the barcode, providing the scanned data to your host system.
- If the scanner is not in use, place it back into the base for charging to ensure continuous operation. Two independently configurable recharge alerts will remind you to place the scanner back into the base for charging.
- If necessary, clean the scanner regularly using approved cleaning solutions. Refer to the Honeywell website for a list of approved cleaners.
