Q1W DIM LED Light

By purchasing a SANlight Q1W DIM LED-light you have decided on a high-quality product, which will give you much pleasure.
Please read the operating instructions before using your Q1W DIM LED-light, as incorrect use can cause damage to the lamp or plants. If the Q1W is not used properly, all warranty claims and the manufacturer‘s product liability expire.

ATTENTION photobiological safety advice: The Q1W DIM LED module is used exclusively for illuminating plants and is not intended for general lighting purposes. According to DIN EN 62471, the Q1W DIM LED module is classified in risk group 1. Nevertheless, avoid unnecessarily long irradiation and looking directly into the light source.

Guarantee Policy

This device has been designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with the European safety standard (EN60598/CE). The guarantee for the LED-light and accessories is 3 years from the date of purchase. The guarantee does not apply to equipment that has not been installed and maintained as specified in this manual.
The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage caused by unauthorized or incorrect use. In case of damage, the device (LED-light incl. power supply) must be returned to the respective SANlight sales partner, from whom the product was purchased. They send the defective goods to the manufacturer, SANlight GmbH. After repair by the manufacturer, the device is returned to the respective sales partner.

Work and repairs

Repairs and works may only be carried out by the manufacturer.
If repairs, modifications and other works are not performed by the manufacturer, the manufacturer ‘s warranty and product liability expire.

Scope of delivery

Figure 1 shows all components of your SAN light Q1W DIM. Please check the content of the packaging for completeness and damage.
Never use damaged components.

Fastening and suspension of the LED module

The LED module (1) can be positioned in 3 different orientations using the two holding brackets (2). When hanging the LED-module, keep a safety distance of 15 cm from surrounding objects. Make sure that the brackets (2) are properly mounted and secure the LED-module (1) sufficiently to prevent it from falling accidentally.

Installation and removal of the mounting bracket

The supplied mounting brackets (2) can be attached to the two grooves in the edge area of the heat sink and thus allow the lamp to be oriented flexibly. Figures 2 and 3 show the different mounting options. To hang in the retaining bracket (2), spread it apart by hand. Figure 4 illustrates the installation and removal of the retaining bracket (2).

Electrical connection of the Q1W DIM

For powering, the LED-module (1) must be connected to the power-supply unit (4). To do this, connect the plug of the DC supply-cable (3) on the LED-module to the socket on the DC
supply-cable (5) of the power-supply unit (4). For this purpose, the plug and the socket have printed arrows that must point towards each other. (see Fig. 5)

Connection sequence

The attachment order as shown in Figures 5 and 6 must be observed. First connect the DC supply-cable (3 and 5) then the AC supply-cable (6). When disconnecting the Q1W DIM from the mains power supply proceed in the reverse order (first unplug the AC supply-cable, then the DC supply-cable). Disregarding this advice can cause damage to the Q1W DIM and will void all warranty and product liability claims.

Laying the cables

When laying all cables, ensure a strain-relieved fixation. Cabling should not be exposed to tensile load. All cables must be completely unwound. The LED- module (1) and the power-supply unit (4) must not be operated with coiled cables.

Power supply

When using several Q1W DIM modules, a distance of at least 10mm must be maintained between the individual power supplies. Stacking the power-supply units (4) is not permitted.
ATTENTION: The AC power-plug is not waterproof. Avoid direct contact with liquids of all kinds and only operate the power-supply unit in rooms with a humidity below 80%.

Dimming function

You can control the dimming function with the rotary switch on the driver. The dimming power ranges from 0% – 100% and is subdivided in 20% steps: 0% – 20% – 40% – 60% – 80% – 100%. (Figure 4)

Handling the LED module and general warnings

To clean the secondary optics of your Q1W DIM, please use a soft, non-abrasive cloth with distilled water. Under no circumstances should you use other aids such as cleaning agents, damp cloths, etc. For cleaning, the luminaire must be disconnected from the mains. Make sure that the secondary optics are not scratched by cleaning. Scratched or damaged secondary optics result in reduced light output and poor light control. To clean the heat sink, please also use a soft, non-abrasive cloth with distilled water. For very heavy soiling, you can use a mild soapy water solution.

Hazard warnings

ATTENTION: Avoid direct contact of the LED module (1) with plant parts.
ATTENTION: The Q1W DIM may be operated up to a maximum ambient temperature of 35 °C. The minimum ambient temperature at which the Q1W
DIM may be operated, is 5 °C.
ATTENTION: Avoid unnecessary mechanical stress on the LED-module, the power-supply, and all cables.
ATTENTION: Carefully secure the LED-module (1) against falling and mechanical stress of any kind.
ATTENTION: The LED-module (1) can become up to 65 °C hot depending on the ambient temperature. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation at the place of use and keep a safety distance of at least 15 cm from surrounding objects. The LED-module (1) must not be operated in closed rooms without air supply.
ATTENTION: Use the Q1W DIM only with the included power-supply. (4) The use of other power-supplies will destroy the LED-module.
ATTENTION: If damage can be seen on the power-supply unit, on the LED- module, on the cables or on the suspension, the Q1W DIM must no longer be operated. In this case, disconnect the Q1W from the general power-supply immediately. To do this, pull the mains connection cable out of the socket.
