MICROWAVE SETTINGS

The fittings supplied with Microwave Sensor, the mounting heights are 2.5-4.5M for ceiling mounting.
The Microwave Sensor can be adjusted to meet the customer requirements.
The adjustments are made via six DIP switches mounted on the top of the Microwave Sensor.
Switch 1 – Detection Area Adjustment
Switches 2 & 3 – Hold Time (Time required ON after the last detection)
Switches 4 – Daylight Threshold – (Light level when sensor will operate)
Switches 5 – Stand-by period – (Time required ON in stand-by mode)
Switch 6 – Stand-by dimming level – (Light level in stand-by mode)

WIRING

Suitable cable and power is to be supplied to the point of installation. Depending on the fitting being installed, the cable can be terminated as follows:

Microwave Fittings Emergency & Microwave Fitting

Fittings With 0(1)-10V Dimming (Without Emergency & Microwave Sensor)

0-10V Dimming: 2 core cable terminated to a 0-10V dimmer control (if required). Will dim down to OFF.

1-10V Dimming: 2 core cable terminated to a 1-10V dimmer control (if required). Will dim down to 10%. To turn the light OFF a separate switch is required on the mains input.

Fittings With 0(1)-10V Dimming (Without Microwave Sensor)

0-10V Dimming: 2 core cable terminated to a 0-10V dimmer control (if required). Will dim down to OFF.

1-10V Dimming: 2 core cable terminated to a 1-10V dimmer control (if required). Will dim down to 10%. To turn the light OFF a separate switch is required on the mains input.

Notes:
The emergency battery backup fitting can be wired as maintained or non- maintained. The emergency with microwave sensor fitting is maintained only

  • Maintained – The LED driver connects to ‘Switched Live’ with ‘Unswitched’ permanent live to the emergency inverter. (Luminaire can be switched on/off, but will illuminate at a lower level on power failure)
  • Non-maintained – The LED driver is not connected to ‘Switched Live’ with ‘Unswitched’ permanent live to the emergency inverter (luminaire only illuminates on power failure).

To enable the fitting to be manually tested an inline keyswitch must be fitted inline with the Permanent Live input in to the driver.

0-10V Dimming
When the controller is set at 10V the light output will be at 100%. When the controller is set to the minimum 0V the output will be 0%. The independent mains switch will then allow the light / driver to be turned off.

1-10V Dimming
When the controller is set at 10V the light output will be at 100%. When the controller is set to the minimum 1V the output will be 10%. The independent mains switch will then allow the light / driver to be turned off.

GENERAL INFORMATION

PLEASE READ INSTRUCTION BEFORE COMMENCING INSTALLATION AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
Electrical products can cause death or injury, or damage to property.
If in any doubt about the installation or use of this product, consult a competent electrician.

  • Before commencing any electrical work, to prevent the possibility of receiving an electric shock, ensure the mains isolator on the consumer unit is in the ‘OFF’ position and safely isolated in accordance with Best Practice Guide 3.
  • Before commencing installation, ensure the fitting is complete with the fixings required.
  • The fitting should be mounted on a smooth, flat surface, noting the position of any pipes or wiring behind the fixed surface to prevent the risk of damage.
  • The LED light source is 0-10V dimmable with Standard & Emergency ONLY fittings.
  • The battery contained in the emergency LED light source is is replaceable by professionals only.
  • If in doubt consult a qualified electrician. The luminaire must be installed in accordance with the latest IET Wiring Regulations, BS7671.
  • The LED light source is replaceable by professionals only
  • The light source contained within this luminaire has an energy classification value of E
  • It may be neccessary to turn the CTA switch to the ‘OFF’ position to see the EM indicator visibly.

INSTALLATION.

Fig 1. The luminare comes with an accessory packet which contains 3x screws & 3x plugs.
Ensure the mains isolator on the consumer unit is turned off before commencing any work.| Fig 2. Install the suspension mount and the
ceiling rose mount using the plugs and screws
found in the accessory packet.| Fig 3. Please see wiring diagram and wire according to BS7671. Screw the ceiling rose and the suspension cable to the mounts.
Use the dual CCT switch to adjust the temperature to the desired level on up and down light source

EMERGENCY INSTALLATION.

Fig 4. Loosen the screw on the top of the lumiaire (wiring side). Slide the plate to show the EM converter cable and the battery cable.| Fig 5. Connect the EM converter cable to the battery cable. Slide the plate back down and tighten the screw back. Please ensure the cable is NOT in the way of the screw.

DUAL CTA SWITCH

This luminaire contains a dual CTA DIP switch. You can individually control the up & down LEDs to be warm white, cool white, daylight or OFF.
WW – 3000K
CW – 4000K
DL – 6000K
OFF – OFF

EMERGENCY BATTERY BACKUP

On first operation a 24 hour charge will be required to fully charge the batteries.
Failure to provide a permanent live will cause the batteries to power the fitting when it is switched off. This is not recommended as it will reduce the lifetime of the batteries.
This product must be disconnected from the circuit if subjected to any high voltage or insulation resistance testing. Irreparable damage will occur if this instruction is not followed.
Recommended routine emergency test procedure in accordance with BS 5266.

  • Daily check – check that the status GREEN LED indicator is illuminated.
  • Monthly functional test – simulate a mains supply failure for approx. 30 secs by operation of key switch or switching off a circuit breaker. Ensure normal supply is restored after test and the indicator status LED is illuminated.
  • Twice yearly conduct a one hour duration test – simulate a mains supply failure for one hour continuous test by operation of key switch or switching off circuit breaker. Ensure normal supply is restored after test and the indicator status LED is illuminated.
  • Annual full three hour duration test – conduct a three hour continuous duration test. Simulate a mains supply failure for three hour continuous test by operation of key switch or switching off circuit breaker. Ensure normal supply is restored after test and the indicator status LED is illuminated.
If the luminaire fails any of the function or duration tests, please contact a qualified electrician.
