carmanah MX Series Rrfb Mast Arm Mount Kit
Product Information
The MX Series RRFB Mast Arm Mount Kit is designed for mounting signs on mast arms. The kit includes a bracket, cable, perforated steel tube, and necessary hardware. The bracket can accommodate mast arm diameters between 4.5 and 10.5 inches, while the perforated steel tube can hold signs up to 36 inches in size.
To ensure smooth installation, it is recommended to apply anti-seize lubricant to the large diameter stainless steel bolts provided with the kit. This prevents the bolts from seizing during installation.
Product Usage Instructions
- Drill a hole for the cable at the desired location along the mast arm. Deburr the hole or use a suitable grommet (not supplied) to protect the cable.
- Fish enough cable through the hole to reach the RRFB connectors.
- Place the bracket over the mast arm and install the retaining cable.
- Take slack out of the cable by pulling on the upper loop and tighten the three clamp bolts to 36 ft-lb.
- Adjust the tilt angle of the bracket and lock it in place by tightening both cable tensioning nuts to 36 ft-lb.
- Adjust the angle of the perforated tube bracket and tighten the two bolts to 36 ft-lb to lock it in place.
- For smaller diameter mast arms, route excess cable length as shown and use the included cable clamp to further constrain the cable if desired.
- Mount the supplied perforated tube to the bracket at the desired height using the included 7/16 hardware. Tighten to 36 ft-lb. Note that both the tube and bolts fit tightly in the bracket, and a mallet may be required to insert the bolts.
- Install the RRFB at the bottom of the perforated tube following the instructions in the LEVEL 2 RRFB Install Guide.
- If applicable, install the back plate following the instructions in the LEVEL 4 RRFB Back Plate Install Guide.
- Secure the cable to the perforated tube forming a drip loop.
- Mount the sign to the perforated tube using the provided 5/16 hardware. Ensure that the nylon washer is against the sign sheeting.
Note: Please read all included install guides before system installation.
