FIRST AUSTRIA FA-5471-1 Electric Moka Maker
Product Information
The Electric Moka Maker is a coffee brewing appliance that allows you to make traditional Moka coffee. It consists of several parts, including:
- Lid – Covers the pitcher and boiler
- Pitcher – Holds the brewed coffee
- Boiler – Holds water and heats it to brew the coffee
- Disk filter – Filters the brewed coffee
- Gasket – Provides a seal between the pitcher and boiler
- Power base – Provides power to the appliance
- Power cable – Connects the appliance to a power source
- On/Off switch – Controls the power supply
- Pilot light – Indicates whether the appliance is turned on or off
- Safety valve – Releases excess pressure during the brewing
- Funnel filter – Holds the ground coffee

Product Usage Instructions

1. Before first use, wash all parts with hot water. Then boil a
few batches of coffee and pour it away.

To prepare the coffee:
-
Place the appliance on a flat surface.
-
Ensure that the moka maker is cold, then unscrew the pitcher from the boiler by turning it counterclockwise.

Remove the funnel filter from the boiler.
-
For a full pot of coffee: Fill the boiler with fresh water right below the safety valve. For half the amount of coffee: Fill the boiler halfway with fresh water.
Caution: Do not use the Moka maker without water in the boiler. -
For a full pot of coffee: Insert the funnel filter into the boiler. For half the amount of coffee: Insert the funnel filter into the boiler, then put the adapter disc into the funnel filter.

Fill the funnel filter with medium-ground coffee, without pressing it. Fill it gradually to avoid spilling.

Distribute the ground coffee evenly and remove excess coffee from the edge of the filter.

Screw the pitcher firmly back onto the boiler.

Close the lid and place the moka maker on the power base.

Press the on/off switch. The coffee extraction will start after a few minutes.

At the end of brewing, stir the coffee slightly before serving it.

Cleaning & Maintenance:
Never rinse the boiler under tap water and never immerse it in water.
Transportation:
There are no special transport regulations for the product. When transporting the unit, use the original packaging. During transportation, avoid drops, impacts, direct exposure to atmospheric precipitation, and aggressive environments.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Before first use, wash all parts with hot water. Then boil a few batches of coffee and pour it away.
HOW TO PREPARE THE COFFEE
(Fig. B)
- Place the appliance on a flat surface.
- Check that the moka maker is cold, then unscrew the pitcher (B) from the boiler (C) by turning it counterclockwise (Fig. 1).
- Remove the funnel filter (K) from the boiler.
- a) For a full pot of coffee:
- Fill the boiler (C) with fresh water right below the safety valve (J) without exceeding it (Fig. 2).
- b) For the half amount of coffee:
- Fill the boiler (C) halfway with fresh water (Fig. 2).
- Caution: Do not use the moka maker without water in the boiler.
- a) For a full pot of coffee: Insert the funnel filter (K) into the boiler (C) (Fig. 3).
- b) For the half amount of coffee: Insert the funnel filter (K) into the boiler (C) (Fig. 3), then put the adapter disc (L) into the funnel filter (K) (Fig. 4).
- Fill the funnel filter (K) with ground coffee, without pressing it (Fig. 5). Fill it gradually to avoid spilling the ground coffee.
- Distribute the ground coffee evenly and remove excess coffee from the edge of the filter.
- Note: Use medium-ground coffee, for moka coffee makers.
- Screw the pitcher (B) firmly back onto the boiler (C).
- Close the lid and place the moka maker on the power base (Fig. 6).
- Press the on/off switch (H) (Fig. 7).
- The coffee extraction will start after a few minutes.
- At the end of brewing, stir the coffee slightly before serving it.
CLEANING & MAINTAINENCE
- Always unplug the appliance from power and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
- Never immerse the power base and power cord in water. Do not let the electrical parts come into contact with moisture.
- Clean the inside of the tube periodically.
- Regularly check the funnel and the gasket. Replace if there are signs of wear or deterioration.
- Check that the holes in the disk filter are not blocked. If necessary, clean it by using a pin (Fig. 8).
- Do not wash the coffee maker in the dishwasher!
- Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents. Clean it with a damp sponge.
- Never rinse the boiler under the tap water and never immerse it in water.
STORAGE
- It is recommended to store in a covered and dry place at an ambient temperature not higher than +40°C with relative humidity above 70 % and the absence in the environment of dust, acid, and other vapors.
TRANSPORTATION
- There are no special transport regulations for the product. When transporting the unit, use the original packaging. During transportation, avoid drops, impacts, and other mechanical influences on the device, as well as direct exposure to atmospheric precipitation and aggressive environments.
