Product Features

The new series of Varmilo mechanical keyboards use high quality mechanical switches and Varmilo’s own EC switches to guarantee the stable internal structures and tactility.

Daily Maintanance

To clean a keyboard, pull out the keycaps using a key puller, put the keyboard upside down, pat the back of the keyboard to pour out impurity, and brush off the impurity and dust that are adhered to the keys. if residuals exist, wipe them of using a clean cloth with some alcohol. After that, dry the keyboard in a cool and ventilated place. To avoid aloove or fallen USB port, do not frequently plug unplug, drag or bend a keyboard cable, especially for a keyboard with separate cable and keys.

Notes

  • All operations combined with the Fn key must be executed by holding the Fn key down first, and then press the function key; the order of releasing the keys doesn’t matter.
  • The wireless mode is compatible with Win8, Win10, Win11 and Mac OS
    (with some special key values not fully supported).
    (The device must be equipped with or connected to Bluetooth 4.0 and above.)

Instructions of the LEDs

  • Charging indicator: The white indicator light remains on during charging, and goes off after charging (flashing indicates the need for charging).
  • Bluetooth channel indicator (F1, F2, F3 key indicator in F zone): The corresponding channel light flashes to indicate waiting for pairing, and remains on when successfully connected.
  • Small keypad indicator: The white light is on when turned on, and off when turned off.
  • Caps Lock indicator: The white light is on when in uppercase mode, and off when in lowercase mode.
  • ·Freeze Lock Indicator: The white light is on when locked, and off when unlocked.

Keyboard on/off

  • Turn on: with the keyboard off, press the space bar three times continuously and quickly (In Bluetooth mode, it will connect automatically to the last paired device after power on.)
  • Turn off: long press Fn + Insert keys for 3 seconds
    (Fn key is last released when the key combination is released).

Power-saving mode (in Bluetooth connection status)

  • Fn + 1: Press and hold for 3 seconds, and the Caps Lock light will flash three times to set the keyboard to enter power-saving mode after 5 minutes without use.
  • Fn + 2: Press and hold for 3 seconds, and the Caps Lock light will flash three times to set the keyboard to enter power-saving mode after 30 minutes without use.
  • Fn + 3: Press and hold for 3 seconds, and the Caps Lock light will flash three times to turn the power-saving mode off.

Factory reset

Press and hold Fn + Esc for 5 seconds to reset. It will clear all the Bluetooth connection and restore to factory default settings.

Bluetooth pairing

  • After turning on, you need to search for keyboard named “Varmilo VD-1/2/3” on the device you want to pair with, which corresponds to F1/2/3 channels respectively (the Bluetooth signal will be emitted for 5 minutes; if no device is connected within this time, the keyboard will enter sleep mode).
  • the first pairing requires entering a passwords and pressing Enter to confirm. After successful pairing, the F1/2/3 key lights will remain on and the device will be saved.
  • To clear the current connection and reconnect, press and hold Fn + F1/F2/F3 for 5 seconds
    (corresponding to F1, F2, F3 channels). And it will re-transmit the Bluetooth signal for another connection, which you could refer to the previous operation.
    Note: After powering on, it will be connected directly to the last paired device.

Switching between Wired and Bluetooth Mode

  • In wired mode, you can press Fn + Delete to switch to Bluetooth mode, and it will connect to the last paired Bluetooth device. After the first boot, the keyboard defaults to the Bluetooth F1 channel in wireless mode(factory default mode), and afterward, it’s based on the previous setting.
  • In wired mode, press Fn + F1/F2/F3 to quickly switch to the corresponding Bluetooth device in the F1/F2/F3 channel.
  • When unplugging the cable in wired mode, the device will automatically switch to Bluetooth mode and connect to the last paired device.
  • When the Bluetooth is off, plug the cable to switch directly to wired mode.
  • Note: If the device is not connected after entering the channel, the corresponding channel light will flash and then enter the matching mode.

Lighting effects

  • Adjust light effects: press Fn + – to switch to the previous light effect or Fn + + to the next.
  • Adjust brightness: press Fn + ↑ to increase the brightness of the keyboard backlight gradually or Fn + ↓ to decrease it.
  • Adjust light speed: press Fn + ← to slow down the light effect or Fn + → to increase it.
  •  Turn on/off the light: press Fn + X to turn on/off the backlighting (press Fn + ↑ to turn it back on).
  • Light effect of Indicator: press Fn + Alt + ↑ to gradually increase the brightness of the keyboard indicator, or press Fn + Alt + ↓ to decrease it ( press Fn + Alt to check the status).

Other Functions

  • Lock/unlock the Win key : Fn + Win
  • switch the functions of Caps Lock and left Ctrl key : Fn + left Ctrl, press and hold for 3 seconds, CapsLock indicator flashes three times (based on current key codes)
  • Application Key : Fn + Right Ctrl (right-click menu function of the current working window)
  • switch to full keys: Bluetooth mode 6 keys no punch, press and hold Fn + S for 3 seconds.
  • After powered off, all set functions will be automatically memorized (it will automatically restore the mode state before shutting down when turning on again.)
  • In Wired mode, the keyboard will turn to sleep/hibernate with the computer. You can tap any key to wake it up from the sleep mode, but in the hibernate mode, you need to press the computer’s power button.
  • In Wireless mode, the keyboard will turn to sleep/hibernate with the computer, too. But it couldn’t be waken up unless you press the computer power button(because the Bluetooth is disconnected).
