Here are some tips that will enhance your viewing experience.

How to Connect Your DVD Player

Your DVD player has both Composite Video – Yellow RCA (which provides video resolution up to 480i lines) and Component Video – Red/Green/Blue RCA (which provides video resolution up to 500p lines).

Depending upon your TV’s input & video display capabilities, please use the means of video connectivity that provides the best picture resolution. (It is not necessary to use both Composite and Component Video cables simultaneously).

Your DVD player supports analogue stereo audio using the Red and White RCA connectors (for connection directly to your TV or an amplifier’s analogue input) and digital audio output (for connection to a home theatre amplifier) using the Orange Coaxial RCA connector

DVD Player Initial Setup (Your DVD player will remember many of these settings):

Video – Via the On-Screen Menu choose the appropriate (video resolution, video aspect ratio, subtitle display, picture brightness and contrast etc.).

Audio – Via the On-Screen Menu choose the appropriate method of audio reproduction (Audio Output, DVD audio language, Surround Sound format etc.).

You can also adjust some basic audio and video settings using the dedicated function buttons on your DVD player’s remote control.

Troubleshooting

No Picture – make certain you have your TV set to the correct input where you have connected your DVD player and have firmly connected the appropriate video cable.

Poor Picture – make certain you have set your DVD player’s video settings to the appropriate connection type, video resolution and aspect ratio.

Subtitles (not wanted) – press the Subtitle button on your remote (or set Subtitles “Off” via the onscreen setting menu).

Subtitles (wanted) – press the Subtitle button on your remote (or set Subtitles “On” via the onscreen setting menu).

No Sound – make certain you have connected the appropriate audio cable, (if using an external amplifier make certain the amplifier is on and set to the appropriate input and appropriate volume level), make certain the TV audio is not muted, make certain the DVD player audio level is adequate via the “Vol” button on the DVD player remote control and is not muted via the “Mute” button on the DVD player remote control.
