PCM Setting on your TV

  1. If the soundbar don’t support Dolby, need make the ” PCM ” setting on your TV, or there is no sound from soundbar.
  2. Some setting guide for” PCM ” setting on your TV
  3. For Samsung TV, Settings >Sound -> expert setting -> digital output audio for -> PCM ;
  4. For LG TV, Sound -> Addtional Settings -> Digital Sound out to be ” PCM ” ;
  5. For Sony TV, setting -> Display & Sound -> Sound -> Audio output -> digital output audio -> PCM ;
  6. TCL TV, Optical mode:setting -> Audio Setting> ” S/PDIF and ARC ” is set to PCM-Stereo ; 5)Toshiba TV : Setting>Sound>Digital Output to be ” PCM ” ;
  7. Sharp TV(UA6800X) : Setting ->TV -> input/output -> Digital Audio Output -> PCM 7) JVC TV: Settings -> Audio -> S/PDIF and ARC -> Audio format -> PCM ;
  8. Vizio TV: Settings -> Audio -> Digital Audio Out-> PCM ;
  9. Philips TV: Setting -> Sound -> Digital Output -> ” PCM ” or ” PCM Only ” ;
  10. Panasonic TV : Menu Button -> ” Sound ” or ” Audio ” -> ” Digital Audio Out ” or ” Digital Audio Selection” -> PCM ;
  11. Hisense TV: Setting -> Sound -> Advanced Audio Setting -> Digital Audio  Out -> PCM ;

If your TV is out of the above TV brand, on the homepage of your TV and open either the Settings page or press the ” Menu ” button, look for ” sound ” , ” Digital output ” , ” S/PDIF and ARC ” or ” Audio Format ” terms. Find the PCM setting postion. read TV user manual, or consult your TV seller, or search the restuls by google search, or consult us to get setting guide.

There is no sound with optical /Coaxial / Aux connection

  1. Check the Optical cable whether there is any break or damage ( Coaxial / Aux connection neglect point 1 ) : Firmly insert the optical cable into the optical port of N, there is a click sound or feels firm, let the other end of the optical cable hang, do not plug into the soundbar . Turn on the N , if the centor of the suspended side of optical cable is full red, the cable is good for full red, firmly insert it into the soundbar. If it is not full red, or flash, or dim red, or no red, check the connection with TV is good or not, after confirm the insert with N is good, contact us to resend you a new optical cable.
  2. Make sure you have set the ” PCM ” on your TV, see ” 01: KM Setting ” for the detail.
  3. Watching N by TV Box, (Fire Stick, Roku, Apple N etc.), see trouble shooting of ” N Box setting “.
  4. Confirm the setting the output method of the sound of your
  5. Audio-> N Speaker -> Off ;
  6. Via optical connection, please select ” optical ” ; There are many brand N and model, the N sound output setting will be different, read TV user manual, or consult TV seller, or consult us to get setting guide.
  7. Select the input source of soundbar to be ” Optical ” with soundbar remote control.
  8. Confirm you don’t press the ” Mute ” key of remote control, the key is green, and the LED display will be flash in mute status. If soundbar is mute status, press the ” Mute ” key again to release mute status.
  9. Confirm the soundbar is placing with steady status, there is not slide posibility. If the issue is existed as above

There is no sound with HDMI ARC connection

  1. Check the HDMI Cable needs to comply with the HDMI standard, and the poor HDMI cable will have no sound or poor sound.

  2. Confirm your TV has HDMI ARC port, only the HDMI ARC port supports HDMI ARC.

  3. Make sure you have set “PCM ” and ” HDMI -CEC ” to be ” ON ” on your TV, PCM setting see ” 01: KM Setting ” for the detail. The following is the setting guide of how to set ” HDMI -CEC “to be” ON “:

  4. For Samsung TV :
    a. Setting->General->External Device Manager->Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) to be ” ON ” ( Samsung Q70R as example) ;
    b. Home Button -> Setting -> Sound output -> Receiver 2) For LG TV : a. Settings -> connection -> HDMI Device Settings -> Simplink (HDMI-CEC) to be ” ON “.

  5. For Sony TV,
    a. setting -> Display & Sound -> Sound -> Audio output -> digital output audio -> PCM ;
    b. Setting->Display & Sound->Audio Output->Select ” PCM ” or ” Auto 2 ” ;
    c. For smart Sony TV, Home button -> External Inputs -> HDMI-Setup -> Control for HDMI to be ” ON ” For Non-Smart Sony TV, Home button -> Setting -> System Setting -> Set up -> Bravia Sync Settings -> HDMI Device Selection -> Turn on.

  6. TCL N :
    a. Home button -> Settings -> System -> Inputs > CEC -> Select Enable.
    b. Setting -> Audio Setting -> ” S/PDIF and ARC ” is set to auto Detect.

  7. Vizio N : Menu button -> System -> CEC ->Enable

  8. Philips N : Home button -> Setup ->TV Settings -> Installation -> Preferences -> Easylink, turn on the toggle for all three options: ” Master Easylink “, ” Auto TV ” and ” RC Key Forwarding “.

  9. Panasonic TV : Menu button -> Setup -> HDMI Control -> CEC, turn on the toggle.

  10. Sharp TV :
    a. Menu button -> System Options -> Aquos Link Setup -> turn on “Aquos Link Control “. or
    b. Setting ->N -> input/output -> Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) to be “ON “.

  11. Toshiba TV :
    Menu button -> Options -> HDMI CEC Control Setup -> turn on HDMI CEC Control, turn on all three options: ” TV Auto Power “, ” Auto Standby ” and ” Amplifier Control “. If you can’t find the setting, find the name of ” CE-Link, Regza Link “.

  12. WC N: Settings -> System -> Control other devices (CEC) -> highlight HDMI ARC,Press OK.

  13. Hisense N : Home button -> Settings -> Inputs -> HDMI Control -> ON

  14. Roku TV: Home button -> Settings -> System -> Control other devices (CEC) -> highlight ” System audio control ” and enable the checkbox, Similarly, highlight ” 1-touch play ” and enable it as well.

  15. Fire N Stick Settings -> Display and Sounds -> HDMI CEC Device Control -> Turn on.

  16. Android TVs and Mi TV Sticks/Boxes TVs that ship with Android N, opening ” HDMI Input ” at the top-right corner, open any HDMI input and move to the Settings page -> Enable ” CEC ” menu. Android TV Sticks and Boxes such as the Mi TV Stick and Box, Settings -> Device Preferences -> HDMI CEC -> CEC Control -> Enable the CEC Switch toggle. Other TV
    If your TV is out of the above N brand, on the homepage of your TV and open either the Settings page or press the ” Menu ” button, look for ” HDMI “, ” CEC “, ” HDMI-CEC ” or ” Link ” terms. Find the trade name of HDMI-CEC for your N set, such as AOC: E-link, Emerson: Fun-Link, Hitachi: HDMI-CEC, Insignia: INlink, Pioneer: Kuro Link, Mitsubishi: NetCommand for HDMI, Realink for HDMI , Onkyo: RIND (Remote Interactive over HDMI), Runco: RuncoLink, Thomson: T-Link.

  17. Watching TV by TV Box, (Fire Stick, Roku, Apple TV etc.), see trouble shooting of ” TV Box setting “.

  18. There is frequently disconnection With Optical / HDMI ARC connection

  1. Confirm the soundbar is placing with steady status, there is not slide posibility.
  2. After set the audio format to be ” PCM ” on TV, Dolby Vision option which sometimes turns on automatically on apps like Netflix . So you must disable Dolby and Atmos in the apps 1 or set audio to ” stereo “.
  3. Check the optical cable / HDMI ARC cable is inserted firmly into the optical port of both TV and soundbar.
  4. Via HDMI ARC connection, check the HDMI Cable needs to comply with the HDMI standard, and the inferior HDMI cable will be no sound, poor sound or intermittent sound.
  5. Make sure you don’t wrongly press the soundbar remote control. If the issue is existed as above checking, contact with us to get service.

TV and soundbar cannot be on / off synchronously with ARC connection

Remark: synchronous function, contains synchronous open and close function, while you turn on the TV, the soundbar will be opened automatically, you can adjust soundbar volume via TV remote control (synchronous open function), while you turn off the TV, the soundbar will be closeded automatically (synchronous close function).

  1. For TV setting, check “HDMI-CEC” to be “ON” (see 03 HDMI-CEC ON setting), make “KM ” setting (see 01″ PCM ” setting) ,
  2. Confirm the HDMI cable is no less than HDMI 1.4 version;
  3. First use, open the soundbar first, and select “ARC ” by short press the key “ARC/COA” of remote control;
  4. Select the sound output of TV to be the relative option about “HDMI-ARC “;
  5. While the sound is from the soundbar instead of from TV, it shows the ARC works normally, synchronous function is available, you need pay attention the following:
  6. At this time, you can turn off TV, the soundbar will be turned off together.
  7. At this time, when TV is not turned off, you can select other input source such as optical or bluetooth via soundbar remote control, but before turning off TV, you must select “ARC ” by short press the key “ARC/COA”, so synchronous function will be available.
  8. Synchronous function is only available when the soundbar is turned off with the TV remote.
  9. After turn off the TV, if you do not turn on the soundbar with its remote control before turning on the TV again, Synchronous function is available. Due to the signal process, the soundbar may turn on a few seconds later.
  10. Before turning on the TV next time, if you turned on the soundbar via its remote control, such as listen music from you phone, Synchronous function is unavailable. You need to turn on the soundbar individually first, If the soundbar is not in ARC mode, you need to select “ARC ” by short press the key “ARC/COA”, check point 4 and 5.

Soundbar Setting Can’t be Memorized After Disconnecting Power

  1. While you disconnect the power source, the soundbar setting could be memoried contains the input source, the sound mode, ” BASS +/- ” and ” Treble +/- ” setting, and the soundbar volume.
  2. If the volume of the soundbar is less than level 20 (max.32 ), it will be memoried ;
  3. If the volume of the soundbar is more than level 20 (max.32 ), it will be reset level 20 after you turn on the soundbar again. Too loud volume during turning on the soundbar will be frightening.

No Sound When Watching TV by Apps Such as Netflix, Disney, etc.

  1. The current Heymell soundbar don’t support Dolby and Atmos, if you watching TV via the apps like Netflix , Disney, etc., disable Dolby and Atmos in the app , or set audio to ” stereo “.
  2. After set the audio format to be ” PCM ” on TV, Dolby Vision option which sometimes turns on automatically on Netflix, check the ” PCM ” setting.
  3. Watching TV by TV Box , ( Fire Stick, Roku, Apple TV etc. ), see trouble shooting of ” TV Box setting “.

How to make TV Box Setting ?

  1. Roku: Home->Settings->Audio-> HDMI to PCM-Stereo ( Via HDMI ARC output) 1 or HDMI and SPDIF to PCM-Stereo. (Via Optical Output) Choose Stereo for Audio -> Audio Mode
  2. Fire stick: Settings -> Sound and Display -> Audio, select ” Stereo “.
  3. Apple TV: Settings -> Audio & Video -> Audio Out, select ” Stereo “.
  4. Other TV Box: Find the option such as “Audio “, select ” Stereo” item.

The sound is not good, or very poor.

  1. The sound from two channel will be interface each other, so face the center of the bar, far from the bar about 2-3 meters, could get better sound;
  2. The sound will be influenced by the surround enviroment. If there are large area glass windows, the bass is weak, and the sound is too sharp, Pull down the curtain with cloth will improve. If the room is too small, such as less than 10 square meter, the bass is strong and not clear, the treble will be sharp. If the room is too large, such as more than 60 square meter, the bass and the treble will be weak. So you can change a room to hear again
  3. If there are a lot of objects in the room, especially movable objects on multi-compartment lockers, or gypsum board ceiling / aluminum gusset ceilings, when play bass-heavy songs, especially the soundbar with external subwoofer, you will hear noise or abnormal sound, this noise or abnormal sound is not from the soundbar, it is caused when the objects or the ceiling moving or colliding, or resonance, not the soundbar has a sound defect.
  4. Change a handheld device to listen again, confirm whether you device has some fault.
  5. Some song source has fault, disconnect bluetooth and listen to it with your handheld device. If it is defective, change a song.
  6. The sound will be weak for some movie, you can play the movie with TV speakers to test, change other movie to test.
  7. Every song has various frequency and musical instruments, and speakers couldn’t fit them perfectly. So if the sound is not good, change another song to try.
  8. Confirm the EQ is fit your song or program, ” NEWS ” is only for the talk show or news, ” GAME ” is only for playing games. ” MOVIE ” is for TV program and Movie.
  9. The manual settings for ” Bass+ “, ” Bass-“, ” Treble-F “, ” Treble- ” are not fit your song or program, re-adjust them to try, or reset their value.
  10. The sound quality is related to your mood at that time. If your mood is negative, you can listen to some light music, or listen to it at another time.
  11. If the sound fault is obvious, and it is not related to above, contact with us, provide a short recorder, audio or video is OK, we will replace one after confirm.

Why the soundbar can not pair with mobile phones? A:

  1. First pairing: 1) Select the input source of the soundbar to be ” Bluetooth “, the ” “of LCD display will flash.
  2. For iPhone and iPad, the bluetooth devices searching will be automatical, you can found the pairing name of the soundbar from ” other devices “. If you don’t find the pairing name, close the bluetooth for the phone / pad and open again, re-search again, or power off the soundbar and power on again, try again. For some Android phone, the pairing name will be found from “Available Devices “, you can click ” Refresh ” to search again;
  3. Pairing or connect to bluetooth that has been connected before:
  4. If the bluetooth of the soundbar has been connected with other phones, close the bluetooth of other phones, and re-pair with the current phones;
  5. If the bluetooth of the soundbar has been connected with current phones, but can’t connected automati-cally, click the pairing name to connect from ” paired devices list ” in Android phones or from My Devices ” in iphone. If the connection is failure, delete the pairing name from your phones, and re-pairing process again.
  6. Far away from the WiFi devices, high-power appliances such as microwave ovens, ovens, etc.
  7. The distance bewteen the soundbar and phones is no more than 10 meters /30feet, and there is without any obstacle.
