Product Information
Product Overview
The 1U Rack Mount Shelf is a device used to mount and attach different
modules and chassis to a standard 19-inch rack. The shelf provides multiple
mounting holes and options to accommodate various module/chassis types. It
also includes grounding posts to secure a grounding lug from the rack to the
shelf.
Product Usage Instruction
Installation Procedure
Unpacking, Visual Inspection, and Inventory
Review the contents of the package and ensure that all necessary items are
included.
Rack Mounting
Mount and attach the shelf to the standard 19-inch rack using appropriate
rack mounting screws (not included). The rack should be appropriately earth
grounded before powering the attached modules. Use NEBS earth grounding posts
to secure a grounding lug from the rack to the shelf.
General Installation
Use the Mounting Hole Guide to determine the correct mounting holes for the
module/chassis type. Align the module to the appropriate mounting holes
starting at the bottom left corner of the shelf and moving left to right
across the shelf. Use the appropriate plastic snap rivets to mount the module
to the shelf by pressing the rivets through the top of the wall mount bracket
until the rivet locks into place. Remove any rubber feet before installing the
module/chassis to the shelf. Embedded cable tie-down slots secure the power
cord(s) and data cable(s) to the shelf (cable ties not included). Grounding
screws are available to attach an earth ground wire between the module and the
shelf.
Installing iConverter, OmniConverter /SE and OmniConverter Extenders
Up to four iConverter wall mount or tabletop modules, and/or OmniConverter
/SE, and/or OmniConverter PoE Extenders can be mounted on the shelf.
Installing iConverter 2-Module Chassis
Up to two iConverter 2-Module chassis can be mounted on the shelf. In order to
mount the iConverter 2-Module Chassis to the shelf, the optional wall mount
brackets (model 8249-0) must be installed on the chassis (not included).
Installing iConverter GM4 5-Port and 1-Module Chassis and OmniConverter
/S
The shelf can accommodate iConverter GM4 5-Port and 1-Module Chassis, and
OmniConverter /S.
Installing RuggedNet Switches and Extenders and OmniConverter Switches
Up to two RuggedNet switches or Extenders or OmniConverter Switches can be
mounted on the shelf.
Note:
It is important to refer to the Mounting Hole Guide to ensure the correct
mounting hole for each unit installed on the shelf.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The 1U 19” rack mount shelf (model 8260-0) accommodates iConverter® standalone media converters, iConverter 1-Module chassis, iConverter 2-Module chassis, OmniConverter® media converters and switches, RuggedNet® switches, FlexSwitch™ 2X4GT and iConverter GM4 5-Port, GM4 PoE/HPoE and XM5 Network Interface Devices.

Unpacking, Visual Inspection and Inventory
Review the contents. The following items should be included:
- 1U Rack Mount Shelf
- 20 Small Plastic Snap Rivets (For mounting holes B, D, G & H)
- User Manual
- 20 Large Plastic Snap Rivets (For mounting holes A, C, F & J)
Rack Mounting
Mount and attach the shelf to the 19” standard rack using the appropriate rack
mounting screws (not included). When rack-mounting the shelf, the rack should
be appropriately earthgrounded before powering the attached modules. The shelf
provides NEBS earth grounding posts to secure a grounding lug from the rack to
the shelf. The shelf has multiple mounting holes to accommodate the different
module/chassis options. Use the Mounting Hole Guide to determine the correct
mounting hole for the each unit installed on the shelf.

General Installation
Use the Mounting Hole Guide to determine the correct mounting holes for the
module/chassis type. Align the module to the appropriate mounting holes

In order to mount the iConverter tabletop module to the shelf, the optional wall mount brackets (4381) must be installed on the module.
Installing iConverter 2-Module Chassis
Up to two iConverter 2-Module chassis can be mounted on the shelf. In order to
mount the iConverter 2-Module Chassis to the shelf, the optional wall mount
brackets (model 8249-0) must be installed on the chassis (not included).
NOTE:
Mounting the 2-Module chassis to the shelf requires 2U rack spacing.
Installing iConverter GM4 5-Port and 1-Module Chassis and OmniConverter
/S
Up to three OmniConverter /S or 10G Multi-rate or iConverter GM4 5-Port or
1-Module Chassis can be mounted on the shelf. In order to mount the iConverter
1-Module Chassis to the shelf, the optional wall mount brackets (model 8249-0)
must be installed on the chassis (not included).
Installing RuggedNet Switches and Extender, and OmniConverter Switches
Up to two RuggedNet switches or Extenders or OmniConverter Switches can be
mounted on the shelf.
In order to mount a RuggedNet switch to the shelf, the optional wall mounting
plate (model
8260-3) must be installed on the switch (not included).

Warranty
This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of shipment. A LIFETIME warranty may be obtained by the original purchaser by registering this product within ninety (90) days from the date of shipment at www.omnitron-systems.com/support. During the warranty period, Omnitron will, at its option, repair or replace a product that is proven to be defective with the same product or with a product with at least the same functionality. For warranty service, the product must be sent to an Omnitron designated facility, at Buyer’s expense. Omnitron will pay the shipping charge to return the product to Buyer’s designated US address using Omnitron’s standard shipping method.
Limitation of Warranty
The foregoing warranty shall not apply to defects resulting from improper or inadequate use and/or maintenance of the equipment by Buyer, Buyer-supplied equipment, Buyer-supplied interfacing, unauthorized modifications or tampering with equipment (including removal of equipment cover by personnel not specifically authorized and certified by Omnitron), or misuse, or operating outside the environmental specification of the product (including but not limited to voltage, ambient temperature, radiation, unusual dust, etc.), or improper site preparation or maintenance.
No other warranty is expressed or implied. Omnitron specifically disclaims the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for any particular purpose. The remedies provided herein are the Buyer’s sole and exclusive remedies. Omnitron shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, whether based on contract, tort, or any legal theory.
Environmental Notices
The equipment covered by this manual must be disposed of or recycled in accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) of the European Community directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) which, together with the RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU, for electrical and electronic equipment sold in the EU after July 2019.
