UW6-FLx – UW6 Plug to Flying Lead Cable

The UW6-FLx is an underwater plug connector to flying lead cable assembly that is designed to allow for user-supplied external power and communications to X2 data loggers. The cable assembly is made up of a UW6 plug connector and a flying lead configuration.

Wiring Information

The UW6-FLx wiring information is provided in Table 1 and Figure 1. The UW6 plug has six pins, which are color-coded for easy identification. Pin 1 is for the SensorBUS signal, Pin 2 is for 12 V input power, Pin 3 is for ground, Pin 4 is not used, Pin 5 is for RS-485 B, and Pin 6 is for RS-485 A. When connected to NexSens products, the SensorBUS signal wire color is red.

Figure 2 shows the UW-6 Plug connection to an X2 data logger power port, while Figure 3 provides the UW Plug pinout.

Product Usage Instructions

To use the UW6-FLx cable assembly, follow these steps:

  1. Identify the pins on the UW6 plug connector using the color-coding provided in Table 1 and Figure 3.
  2. Connect the flying lead cable to the external power and communications source.
  3. Connect the UW6 plug connector to the X2 data logger power port, ensuring that the pins are properly aligned.
  4. If using NexSens products, connect the SensorBUS signal wire to the appropriate port, which is color-coded red.
