Product Usage Instructions

Before using the tool, read the manual thoroughly to understand the safety warnings and instructions. Follow the below instructions for proper usage:

  1. Do not exceed the maximum pressure rating (116 PSI) of the tool or accessory being worked on.
  2. Do not operate the compressor without oil. Use only SAE-30 lubricating oil to avoid voiding the warranty.
  3. If the compressor does not operate after a prolonged time of inactivity, turn off the thermal switch as indicated on the label attached to the tank. If the compressor still does not run or does not turn on, contact an Authorized Service Center.
  4. Assemble the wheels and front support to keep the compressor level.
  5. Perform periodic maintenance to your machine as mentioned on page 9 of the manual.
  6. Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Do not use the tool in explosive atmospheres.
  7. Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance while operating the tool.
  8. Use only a power outlet that matches the tool plug. Do not use any adapter plugs with grounded power tools.

To gain the best performance of the tool, prolong the duty life, make the Warranty valid if necessary, and to avoid hazards of fatal injuries please read and understand this Manual before using the tool.

Use and care recommendations

  • NEVER EXCEED the maximum pressure rating (PSI) of the tool or accessory being worked on.

  • DO NOT OPERATE THE COMPRESSOR WITHOUT OIL. Using a lubricating oil other than SAE-30 will void the warranty.

  • IF THE COMPRESSOR DOES NOT OPERATE AFTER A PROLONGED TIME OF INACTIVITY, turn off the thermal switch as indicated on the label attached to the tank. If the compressor still does not run or does not turn on, contact an
    Authorized Service Center.

  • ASSEMBLE the wheels and front support to keep the compressor level.

  • Perform periodic MAINTENANCE to your machine (page 9).

  • WARNING: Avoid the risk of electric shock or severe injury. When the power cable gets damaged it should only be replaced by the manufacturer or at a Authorized Service Center. The build quality of the electric insulation is altered if spills or liquid gets into the tool while in use. Do not expose to rain, liquids and/or dampness.
  • WARNING: Before gaining access to the terminals all power sources should be disconnected.

Power Requirements

  • WARNING: In the event of fault or breakdown, the ground connection delivers a trajectory with minimum resistance for power, thus reducing the risk of electric shock.
    This tool is equipped with a power cable with a ground conductor and a ground plug.
    The plug shall be connected into a power input set up and grounded in accordance to all the local codes.

  • CAUTION: Using electric extensions for compressors is not recommended. Its use causes voltage drop, losing power in the motor and overheating. In place of an extension increase the scope of action in the compressor by connecting a hose with higher outlet length. Connect additional lengths of hose as needed. Likewise, if in need of using a pneumatic tool outdoors with humid environment or even rain, you can operate the compressor indoors away from humidity and operate the power tool connected to the compressor using additional lengths of hose without the risk of electric shock.

  •  In the event of connecting the compressor into a fuse protected circuit, use delay action fuses Type D.

WARNING
This equipment SHOULD BE USED with 115 V˜ – 127 V˜, using a DIFFERENT VOLTAGE WILL SERIOUSLY DAMAGE the product.

General power tool safety warnings

WARNING! Read carefully all safety warnings and instructions listed below. Failure to comply with any of these warnings may result in electric shock, fire and / or severe damage. Save all warnings and instructions for future references.

Work area

  • Keep your work area clean, and well lit.
  • Cluttered and dark areas may cause accidents.
  • Never use the tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
  • Sparks generated by power tools may ignite the flammable material.
  • Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance while operating the tool.
  • Distractions may cause loosing control.

Electrical Safety

  • The tool plug must match the power outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with grounded power tools.
  • Modified plugs and different power outlets increase the risk of electric shock.
  • Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, electric ranges and refrigerators.
  • The risk of electric shock increases if your body is grounded.
  • Do not expose the tool to rain or wet conditions.
  • Water entering into the tool increases the risk of electric shock.
  • Do not force the cord. Never use the cord to carry, lift or unplug the tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
  • Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
  • When operating a tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
  • Using an adequate outdoor extension cord reduces the risk of electric shock.
  • If operating the tool in a damp location cannot be avoided, use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected supply.
  • Using a GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

  • Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.

  • A moment of distraction while operating the tool may result in personal injury.

  • Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.

  • Protective equipment such as safety glasses, anti-dust mask, non-skid shoes, hard hats and hearing protection used in the right conditions significantly reduce personal injury.

  • Prevent unintentional starting up. Ensure the switch is in the “OFF” position before connecting into the power source and / or battery as well as when carrying the tool.

  • Transporting power tools with the finger on the switch or connecting power tools with the switch in the “ON” position may cause accidents.

  • Remove any wrench or vice before turning the power tool on.

  • Wrenches or vices left attached to rotating parts of the tool may result in personal injury.

  • Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

  • This enables a better control on the tool during unexpected situations.

  • Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothes and gloves away from the moving parts.

  • Loose clothes or long hair may get caught in moving parts.

  • If you have dust extraction and recollection devices connected onto the tool, inspect their connections and use them correctly.

  • Using these devices reduce dust-related risks.

Power Tools Use and Care

  • Do not force the tool. Use the adequate tool for your application.
  • The correct tool delivers a better and safer job at the rate for which it was designed.
  • Do not use the tool if the switch is not working properly.
  • Any power tool that cannot be turned ON or OFF is dangerous and should be repaired before operating.
  • Disconnect the tool from the power source and / or battery before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing.
  • These measures reduce the risk of accidentally starting the tool.
  • Store tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons that are not familiar with the tool or its instructions to operate the tool.
  • Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
  • Service the tool. Check the mobile parts are not misaligned or stuck. There should not be broken parts or other conditions that may affect its operation. Repair any damage before using the tool.
  • Most accidents are caused due to poor maintenance to the tools.
  • Use the tool, components and accessories in accordance with these instructions and the projected way to use it for the type of tool when in adequate working conditions.
  • Using the tool for applications different from those it was designed for, could result in a hazardous situation.

Service

  • Repair the tool in a Authorized Service Center  using only identical spare parts.
  • This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Children or people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities shall not operate the tool, neither inexperienced people or without knowledge in the use of the tool, unless supervised by a person responsible of their safety or if receiving previous instructions about the tool operation.
Children shall be kept under supervision to double-check they will not play with the tool. Tight supervision shall be used with children or disabled persons to prevent from using or being close to any household tool.

This tool is in compliance with the Official Mexican Standard (NOM – Norma Official Mexicana).

Safety Warnings for Air Compressors

Before Using the Compressor
CAUTION

  • The pressure stat produce sparks while operating. If sparks have contact with gasoline or other solvents, vapors could ignite causing fire or explosion. Always operate the compressor in an adequately ventilated area. Do not operate in closed areas. Do not smoke while spraying. Do not spray in flammable environments. Keep the compressor as far away as possible from the area of aspersion.
  • Solvents like trichloroethane and methylene chloride may have a chemical reaction with aluminum used in spray and paint guns, paint pumps, etc., and may cause an explosion. If using those solvents, use only stainless steel spraying equipment. It will not affect the air compressor but may affect the equipment being used.

DANGER

  •  For no reason at all carry out welding  jobs in the compressor air tank. It creates an extremely dangerous condition. The warranty will be cancelled if welding is carried out in the compressor tank.
  • Never use the compressor outdoors when raining or on wet surfaces. Electrocution may happen.
  • Check the maximum pressure the manufacturer specifies for pneumatic tools and accessories. The compressor outlet pressure shall be regulated so that it will never exceeds the maximum pressure specified.
  • Keep labels and nameplates set in the equipment. It contains important safety information. In the event the labels or nameplate are unreadable or missing, contact a
    Authorized Service Center to get spare labels or nameplates.

CAUTION

  •  For any reason, do not modify the pressure stat or the pressure release valve. It will make the Warranty void. Those devices where adjusted in the factory to the maximum pressure for this unit.
  • Double check and read all the labels in paint or toxic materials being sprayed. Follow the safety instructions. Wear a breathing mask if there is the possibility of inhaling the material spayed. Read the breathing mask instructions to make sure it delivers the adequate protection.
  • Always wear safety lenses when using an air compressor.
  • To allow the adequate cooling ventilation, the compressor shall be at 12” minimum distance from the nearest wall in an adequately ventilated area.
  • Environment temperature recommended to operate the compressor is 32 °F to 95 °C

While operating the compressor

  • CAUTION:   Do not aim nozzles, sprinklers or air jet  towards people or animals.
  • WARNING:   Never inhale compressed air directly  produced by the air compressor. It is not adequate as breathing air.
  • WARNING:   Do not adjust the gauge above the  maximum pressure marked in the accessory. Otherwise, the compressor may burst.
  • The compressor shall be sitting in a leveled surface when operating.
  • Keep the compressor well ventilated. Do not cover it during the use.

CAUTION
The compressor gets hot while  operating. Do not touch it or allow children be near during and immediately after being used. Do not use without the motor covering. Work away from flammable objects or liquids.

  • The air hose components may get hot while in use. Let the hoses cool down before disconnecting.
  • Do not use the hose to move the compressor.
  • Never leave the compressor connected to the power source when unattended for long periods of time. Disconnect the tool after working with it.
  • Using accessories other than those recommended by

TRUPER may cause personal injuries.

  • Under the cover, high temperatures are produced and there are moving parts. To prevent burns or other type of injuries, do not operate without the cover in place. Allow the compressor parts to cool down before handling or carrying out service on it.
  • Do not release any connection when the tank is under pressure.

After Using the Compressor

  • Remember, the unit starts automatically. Always turn OFF the compressor. Remove the plug from the power supply, purge and release all the pressure in the system before carrying out service or when not in use.
  • Periodically drain humidity from the tank. A clean and dry tank will prevent corrosion.
  • Every day, pull the pressure release valve ring to assure it  works properly and to remove any obstruction from the valve.
  • To transport, fasten the compressor properly. Release the tank’s pressure before transport.
  • Protect the air hose and the power cable from damage or perforation. Carry out weekly inspections to detect weak or worn out points. Replace if necessary.

Parts

Carefully lay down the compressor onto a flat, leveled and solid surface to assemble the wheels and the rubber feet with their screws and hex nuts.

Preparation

  • The air compressor delivers energy to pneumatic tools as versatile as power tools, therefore, it can be used to drill, screw, nail, rivet, staple, chisel, polish, torch, clean, paint, etc.
  • The compressor is totally automatic, controlled with a pressurestat that stops the motor when the tank pressure reaches the maximum level and start back when the level is lower to 87 PSI
  • The compressor shall be connected into power supply protected with an adequate thermos-differential switch (thermal-magnetic).

Assembly

  •  Screw the air filter (A) aside de carter as indicated in the image.

Oil

  • CAUTION:
    • Replace the transport cap (B) with the  work cap (B1) included.
    • Check the oil verifying spyhole (C). If oil level is not in the middle point (red circle), remove the tank cap (B1) and fill up the deposit with compressor lubricating oil SAE-10W30 up to the indicated level.
    • Check the oil level when starting the job.
    • Leave the compressor running a few minutes with the air valve fully open to allow the correct distribution of the lubricant.

Star Up

ON and OFF

  • Before operating the compressor set it onto a flat leveled surface with good ventilation and away from flammable objects, like drapes, etc. Leave at least 12” free space around the compressor to allow air circulation.

  • Connect the plug to the power supply. To prevent tripping or damaging the cable, double check the cable is not an obstacle.

  • Lift the switch (A) to turn ON the compressor. The motor will start and will fill the tank to maximum pressure. Then, it will automatically turn OFF. While the compressor is being used and to keep the constant pressure indicated in the gauge (B) it will start again when the pressure stat is detecting low pressure.

  • To turn OFF the compressor just press the switch. Then, release the air remaining in the tank by pulling the pressure release valve ring (C).
    CAUTION Never unplug the compressor from  the power supply in order to turn it OFF. If the power supply is accidentally cut, do not forget to turn the compressor OFF correctly.

  • The compressor is built with a thermal switch (D) that prevents the motor from overheating. The motor turns OFF when the switch is activated. To restart the motor, follow these steps:

  1. Press the switch (A) to double check the compressor is OFF.
  2. Leave the compressor cooling down at least 5 minutes.
  3. Press the thermal switch (D) placed aside the carter.
  4. Lift the switch (A) to turn ON the compressor. NOTE: If the unit turns OFF again, please go to a Authorized Service Center.

Operation

  • Connect one end of the air hose to the compressor outlet (E).

  • Connect the other end of the air hose to the inlet in the pneumatic tool (not included). Double check the connections match.

  • Adjust the air pressure outlet with the pressure gauge (F). Turn the knob to the right to increase the outlet pressure. Turn it to the left to decrease pressure until getting the desired pressure indicated in the outlet gauge (G).
    CAUTION:   Adjusting pressure must be carried out  having the regulated outlet valve open.

  • After connecting the compressor to the air line, run it loaded to its maximum pressure and double check it works correctly.

  • Check there are no leaks in the air line. Turn OFF the compressor to repair any leak detected.
    CAUTION:   The motor and the cover may reach  high temperatures. When working with the compressor avoid touching that zone to prevent burns.

Maintenance

Oil Change

  •  After the 50 hours operation change oil. Remove the drain cap (A). Set back the cap and fill up the tank as indicated in page 7. The subsequent oil change shall be carried out each 150 hours’ work.

Cleansing and Care

  • To ensure the adequate cooling of the motor always keep the air vents clean and free of obstructions.
  • Regularly inspect all the mounting screws and make sure  are correctly tight. If any of the screws is loose, tighten immediately.
  • Once a week open and clean the inside of the air filter (b) using compressed air. After 50 hours functioning replace the air filter (B).

  • After operating the compressor for 16 hours, open the drain valve (C) to eliminate the water stored in the tank due to condensation.
  • After each use disconnect the compressor and release the  air pressure in the tank pulling the pressure release valve ring (E).

Service

  •  Any other service or repair in the compressor shall only be carried out in a Authorized Service Center. Service and maintenance carried out by unqualified people may be dangerous and can cause personal injuries and makes the Warranty void.
