User Manual
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Vertere Challenger dedicated DC power supply.
Countless hours of investigative listening and testing have provided an
astonishing upgrade to the performance of the DG-1 record player and the Tempo
motor drive. Thallei-L6 takes the performance of our worldwide award-winning
record players to yet a new level. Challenges are manufactured to exacting
standards to provide you with many years of musical enjoyment.
Installation
It is important to ensure Challenger has sufficient clear space around it
where it is to be installed. It’s best to allocate a small area on an
equipment rack or self – Avoid placing on carpets.
Use the mains cable provided and attach it to the AC input socket on the
Challenges but do not connect it to the wall mains socket yet.
Next, connect the DC plug on the output cable to the DG-1 or the Tempo Motor
Drive. Now you can plug the mains cable into the wall socket. The green Power
LED light on the Challenge and the power indicator lights on the DG-1 or the
Tempo should now all illuminate.
Now it’s time to enjoy the performance enhancement the challenger brings -Play
a record
Maintenance & Cautions… IMPORTANT
After disconnecting the mains cable, the Challenger may be cleaned with a soft
cloth or chamois leather. Avoid using abrasives or solvents.
Important Note:
Disconnect the unit from the main supply before cleaning. DO NOT use fluids to
clean the unit.
It is important that at no time any fluid gets inside the unit. DO NOT attempt
to gain access to the inside of the unit.

Standards applied are those which were in force at the time of the introduction of this product. Please ensure that other equipment connected to it is earthed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Products that display the crossed-out wheeled bin logo cannot be disposed of as domestic waste. These products must be disposed of at facilities capable of re-cycling them and appropriately handling any waste by-products. Contact your local authority for details of the nearest such facility. Appropriate recycling and waste disposal help conserve resources and protects the environment from contamination.

INTERFERENCE
Properly installed, this unit should not cause harmful interference to radio
communications, There is, however, no guarantee that such interference will
not occur in a specific installation. If interference arises (which you can
determine by switching the unit off and on) you could try to remedy matters by
the following
- Re-orient or relocate the receiving antenna
- Increase the distance between the Challenger and the receiver
- Connect the unit to a different mains circuit from that of the receiver Consult your
- Vertere appointed a dealer or an experienced Radio/TV technician for help and advice
Challenger Redline
Your Vertere Challenger dedicated DC power supply performance can be further improved using a Vertere Redline Mains Cable.
Simply replace the supplied mains cable with the Redline version and enjoy the
improved performance.
We highly recommend that you consult with your Vertere retailer for advice and
demonstration to verify the advantages of using the upgraded Redline mains
cable.
Redline Mains Cable is available with UK, EU, US, CH & AU plugs.

Warranty
Your Challenger DC Power Supply is guaranteed against any defect in materials
and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. You can
extend this period to three years by registering your warranty on the Vertere

Applicable in European countries with separate collection systems
