HOME HM-KG-M230B Knife Sharpener

The HM-KG-M230B Knife Sharpener is a tool designed to sharpen and polish the blades of ceramic knives. The product is equipped with three types of whetstones, each serving a different purpose.

When using the knife sharpener, it is important to follow the safety guidelines:

  • Place the knife sharpener on a firm and level work surface
  • Hold the sharpener firmly by the handle during the entire sharpening process
  • To achieve a high-quality sharpening, it is important to only use ceramic whetstones. Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to the ceramic knife.

Product Usage

Follow these steps to use the HM-KG-M230B Knife Sharpener:

  1. Place the knife sharpener on a firm and level work surface
  2. Select the appropriate whetstone based on your sharpening needs:
    • Whetstones with a diamond surface are designed to repair a damaged blade and straighten the edge before sharpening.
    • Whetstones made of tungsten steel are intended for sharpening the edge into a V shape.
    • Ceramic whetstones are designed to polish the blade and smooth surface irregularities that may have occurred during sharpening.
  3. Hold the knife sharpener firmly by the handle during the entire sharpening process.
  4. Run the blade through the selected whetstone several times until you achieve the desired sharpness.
  5. Repeat the process with the other whetstones if necessary.

Product Cleaning and Maintenance

Follow these guidelines to clean and maintain the HM-KG-M230B Knife Sharpener:

  • Wipe the whetstones and sharpener with a slightly moistened sponge. Wipe dry.
  • Do not use plastic or metal scouring pads, harsh cleaning agents, chemicals, gasoline, solvents or other similar substances for cleaning. The surface finish could be seriously damaged.
  • Store the knife sharpener in a dry place out of the reach of children.

  • Please read this manual carefully before use and keep it for future reference.
  • The knife sharpener must not be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and knowledge.
  • A knife sharpener is not a toy. Please keep away from children. Children must not play with the sharpener.
  • They must not perform cleaning and maintenance performed by the user.
  • This knife sharpener is designed for sharpening knives with a straight edge. It is not intended for sharpening knives with a serrated edge (e.g. a bread knife), scissors and similar objects.
  • Take extra care when handling the knife. There is a risk of serious injury.
  • Do not expose the sharpener to extreme temperatures. Do not place the sharpener near an oven, stove or other heat sources.
  • Do not use the knife sharpener to sharpen new knives.

USE

  1. Place the knife sharpener on a firm and level work surface.

  2. Hold the sharpener firmly by the handle during the entire sharpening process.

  3. To achieve a high-quality sharpening, it is important to pass the knife several times through each opening. Do not press on the knife when sharpening; the pressure during passing through should be constant and adequate.

  4. Make sure the knife blade is clean and dry.

  5. Insert the blade with the wide end near the handle into the whetstone 1 and pull towards you. Repeat this process several times (at least five times and more depending on the condition of the blade) in each whetstone in the order of 1 – 2 – 3.
    Note: Do not move the knife blade back and forth. Always pull in one direction.

  6. After finishing sharpening, rinse the knife blade with clean water, dry it and store the knife in a safe place.

  7. If you are going to sharpen ceramic knives, always use only ceramic whetstones. Otherwise there is a risk of damage to the ceramic knife.

The knife sharpener is equipped with three types of whetstones, where each type serves a different purpose.

  1. Whetstones with a diamond surface
