Some vehicles have separate controls for changing the time and date. Check the handbook.

Assembling the Patch Lead

Check the diagrams below and pin the connector according to the brand of head unit being fitted.

Installing into the vehicle

  1. Once the patch lead has been assembled and the switches on the interface correctly set, remove the standard head unit from your vehicle.
  2. IF THE VEHICLE IS A FIAT DUCATO (2007-2011), CITREON RELAY (2007-2011), PEUGEOT BOXER (2007-2011), connect the red mini-ISO connector to the male connector on the car AND CONNECT THE FREE PURPLE CABLE TO PIN 3 OF THE 4-PIN CONNECTOR ON THE PATCH LEAD. This should be a non-connected pin regardless of the brand of Head Unit. Then connect the 3.5 jack end to the Head Unit
  3. FOR ALL OTHER VEHICLES, do not use the Red connector
  4. Connect the larger white 12-pin connector to the interface (black box) and the 2 x ISO connectors to the new head-unit
  5. If needed for a rear parking camera the Purple wire will give a 12V positive feed out when vehicle is in reverse gear
  6. If needed for a navigation system the Pink wire to the Speed Impulse input to the new head-unit.
  7. If needed the Green wire will go NEG when the parking brake is engaged.
  8. When connected the green LED on the interface will indicate that the interface is recognising the vehicles CAN bus (this is the vehicles control system, by recognising the this it allows the new head unit to function with the cars existing systems) and the yellow LED will indicate the interface is giving out an ignition power supply. If the green light is not illuminated, check the CANbus connections and switch settings. When both LED’S are illuminated, replace the black cover on the interface.
  9. Test the system fully ensuring all controls function properly before installing the new Head Unit.

Troubleshooting

  • Check that head-unit is earthed and the black wire is ground.
  • Check all connections are secure and properly insulated.
  • Check that the green and Yellow LEDs are both on.
  • If not check the CAN wires are in the correct place.
  • If the car has a separate Blue and Me module, it may need to be removed completely.
  • Check dipswitch settings and try different settings.
