Introduction

Introduction

IAdea WBP-130 is an E-Paper Panel with a 3-inch display for desk booking. The WBP-130 is wirelessly connected with its gateway IAdea WBP Gateway to display booking Information. Users can press the physical buttons to change the status of their bookings.

This guide aims to assist users to understand:

  • How to setup the demo kit
  • The demo scenario.
  • How to connect the WBP-130 to your own reservation system.

The reader is assumed to be IT administrator who is familiar with network configuration or application development who is familiar with network services.

Demo Kit Contents

  • The demo kit includes following items

    • WBP Gateway x 1

    • WBP Router x 1

    • WBP-130 x 2 with mounts

Steps:

  1. Connect the WAN port on Router and IoT port on Gateway via Ethernet cable. Both ports are already set with static IP.

  2. Connect the WAN port on Gateway to INTERNET/Cloud via network gateway.
    Depends on the exsited network environment. The WAN port is set as DHCP client.

  3. Connect the gateway and the router with their power source and power on.

  4. Once the system is ready, the demo content will be published to WBP-130.

Demo Schedule

This demo set is pre-configured with the following daily schedule:

Operating the Unit

The WBP-130 will display the current booking status of each desk. Users can read the information on the display and interact with the device with the 3 buttons located at the right. Hold the button for at least 1 second to activate the press.

  • Free
    Operating the Unit

    • Condition:
    • If it’s no scheduled booking in next 15 minutes.
    • Action(s);
    • To make an ad-hoc booking, press the physical button next to the “O”.

      It goes to Occupied and showing “IN USE”.
  • Reserved
    Operating the Unit

    • Condition:
    • 15 minutes before a booking starts, until end of booking time.
    • Action(s):
      ▪ To check-in, press the physical button next to the “O”.

  • Occupied
    Operating the Unit

    • Conditions:

    • User checks in successfully AND
      Within a booking time.

    • Action(s):

    • To check-out, press the physical button next to the “X”.

Update SDK

  1. Connect a display monitor via HDMI,

  2. Connect a keyboard and a mouse to the Gateway via USB.

  3. Close client-demo-app.
    I. Click “x” to close the client-demo-app webpage
    Update SDK

  4. Close gateway app.
    I. Click “x” to close the gateway app terminal.

  5. Delete client-demo-app
    I. Fine the “in IAdea_WBP-Gateway-1.0_Client” on desktop
    Update SDK
    II. Delete it.

  6. Clean schedule database.
    I. Note: Once database is cleaned, all current schedules would be deleted.
    II. Find “IAdea WBP Gateway 1.0 Clean Database”
    Update SDK
    III. Execute it.

  7. Update SDK
    I. Find the “IAdea WBP Gateway 1.0 Installer” icon.
    Update SDK
    II. Execute it. Enter the password: P@ssw0rd

    III. The latest SDK files will be automatically downloaded and installed.

  8. Re-start Gateway App
    I. Find the “IAdea WBP Gateway 1.0 Start” icon.
    Update SDK
    II. Execute it. It would open another terminal running the Gateway app. Do
    NOT close it.
    9. Re-start client-demo-app.
    I. Open client-demo-app in IAdea_WBP-Gateway-1.0_Client folder.

    II. Open index.html in IAdea_WBP-Gateway-1.0_Client \ client-demo-app

Troubleshoot

When Gateway boot-up, the client-demo-app would start automatically. It also shows the system status.

Troubleshoot

  1. WBP Gateway – App
    Expected status: running
    The WBP Gateway App should become running in 10 minutes after booting. If it stuck in disconnect or no information for 20 minutes, reboot the WBP Gateway.

  2. WBP Gateway – Router
    Expected status: connected
    If it shows disconnect, check if WBP Router power up and the connection between WBP Gateway and WBP Router

  3. Devices (WBP-130)
    Expected status: connected
    The WBP-130 should become connected in 5 minutes after booting. If it stuck in disconnect for 10 minutes, pressing the physical button on the WBP-130 make it force connect to the Router.

  4. IAdea Gateway App
    Expected status: running
    If it shows connection error, find the “IAdea WBP Gateway 1.0 Start” icon on desktop and execute it to start IAdea Gateway App.

Integrate the WBP-130 with your app

This demo can be programmed to connect to your workspace reservation software.
