| | The DLink DCM301 has the following ports available on the back of the modem.

  • ETHERNET – Connects to the Ethernet port on your computer.
  • RESET – Resets the cable modem.
  • RF – Connects to the cable wall outlet.
  • POWER – Connects the cable modem to the power adapter.
  • ON / OFF – Press to turn the modem off or on.

The RESET button is for maintenance purposes only.

MAC Address

| | MAC addresses are written as 12 digits containing both letters and numbers (0-9, A-F). A MAC address is unique. The first six characters of the MAC address are unique to the manufacturer of the device.

Troubleshooting

The lights indicate the current status of your modem. To troubleshoot any connection problems, use the table below.

POWER Solid Green None
Off No power. Verify that the power supply and electrical outlet connections

are secure. Also make sure the outlet is not connected to a switch.

Blinking Green| Modem establishing a connection from the Internet to the computer

(Upstream)

| Solid Green| None
Blinking Green| Modem trying to connect to service – looking for upstream
Off| Modem establishing a connection from the computer to the Internet
ONLINE| Solid Green| None.
Off| No connection.
ETHERNET 1-4| Solid Green| None. A device is connected to the Ethernet port.
Blinking Green| None. A device is connected to the Ethernet port and data is being sent to or from the modem.
Off| No connection.
WIRELESS LINK| Solid Green| None. The Wireless Access Point is operational.
Blinking Green| None. Data is being transferred over the wireless connection.
Off| The wireless access point has been disabled by the user.
TEL 1
TEL 2
| Solid Green| None. Indicates service is enabled
Blinking Green| None. Line 1 or Line 2 is in use.
BATTERY| Solid Green| None. The battery is charged.
Blinking Green| Battery charge is low.
Off| No battery in the unit.
