Pneumatic Night Splint Wedge
Instruction manual

Indications

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Heel spurs
  • Achilles tendon injuries
  • Ankle contracture

Contraindications

  • Plantar flexion contracture greater than 10°
  • Uncontrollable severe plantar flexion spasticity
  • Extended weight bearing and ambulation

Cleaning Instructions/Maintenance

  • When the cover is slightly dirty, clean it with a damp cloth or a soft brush.
  • Allow the cover to air dry only.
    Remove the wedges before cleaning (Night Splint Wedge)

Instructions for use – Pneumatic Night Splint

  1. Open all straps and place foot in the Pneumatic Night Splint with the ankle positioned at 90˚.

  2. Close the middle strap in order to hold the heel in place.

  3. Extend the knee to test the fitting of the middle strap. If the heel is slipping inside the
    splint, the middle strap is too loose. If the calf is squeezed in, the middle strap is too tight.

  4. After checking the correct fit of the middle strap, close the remaining straps.

  5. To inflate, compress the inflate bulb multiple times until the desired angle is achieved. Caution: DO NOT OVERINFLATE.

  6. To deflate, lift the cap, and press the release valve. Failure to deflate before weight bearing will result in irreparable damage to the air bladder.

Instructions for use – Night Splint Wedge

  1. Open the toe flap and remove the two wedges from the wedge pocket.
  2. Open all straps and place the foot in the Night Splint Wedge with the ankle positioned at 90˚.
  3. Close the middle strap in order to hold the heel in place.
  4. Extend the knee to test the fitting of the middle strap. If the heel is slipping inside the splint, the middle strap is too loose. If the calf is squeezed in, the middle strap is too tight.
  5. After checking the correct fit of the middle strap, close the remaining straps.
  6. Use 1 or 2 wedges [Under the direction of a physician or healthcare professional].
  7. Open the toe flap and insert wedge(s), thin end first.
