Schluter Systems DITRA-HEAT-DUO-PS Self Adhesive Matting
Product Information
The DITRA-HEAT-DUO-PS is a peel-and-stick membrane that provides sound control, uncoupling, waterproofing, vapor management, load support, and thermal break for multistory construction. It is a 5/16 (8mm)-thick membrane that features a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) to bond the membrane to the substrate, replacing the need for thin-set mortar. It can be used for tile coverings in thin-set applications. The integrated thermal break reduces heat loss to the substrate and improves floor warming response time. Optional floor-warming cables can be added if desired.
Product Usage Instructions
- Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry, and free of any debris or contaminants.
- Roll out the DITRA-HEAT-DUO-PS membrane over the substrate with the fleece side facing up.
- Cut the membrane to size using a utility knife or scissors.
- Peel off the protective backing from the PSA and press the membrane firmly onto the substrate.
- Use a roller to ensure good contact between the membrane and the substrate.
- Install the tile covering using a thin-set mortar over the DITRA-HEAT-DUO-PS membrane.
- Optional: Install floor warming cables over the membrane before installing tile covering.
Note: Always refer to the product manual for detailed installation instructions and safety precautions.
QUIET, PLEASE
- One of the major concerns in multistory constructions is controlling impact sound transmissions.
- Traditional sound control materials tend to be compressible and not all provide adequate support for tile coverings in thin-set applications.
- The new DITRA-HEAT-DUO-PS is a peel-and-stick membrane that features a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) to bond the membrane to the substrate, replacing the need for thin-set mortar. This also means, faster tile floor installations and cleaner jobsites!
Additional Functions
Benefits
- Integrated sound control to minimize impact sound transmission through floor-ceiling assemblies; installations with 5/16″ (8 mm) Porcelain Tile with underlayment over 8″ (203.2 mm) concrete slab (no ceiling) receives rating of ΔIIC 20 and IIC 50
- Fast and easy peel-and-stick installation, ideally suited for concrete substrates
Features
- Features a geometrically configured membrane that is not compressible, allowing for in-plane movement to provide uncoupling and support for a long-lasting installation.
- Provides waterproofing and vapor management; if application requires a membrane that meets or exceeds requirements of ANSI A118.10, please refer to the Waterproofing – Floors section of the DITRA-HEAT Installation Handbook.
Extras—if desired
- Optional floor warming cables can be added if desired; the integrated thermal break reduces heat loss to the substrate and improves floor warming response time
- Install with Schluter®-PRIMER-U for difficult-to-bond-to surfaces
