Other Consumer Safety Information This appliance is intended for household use only.
WARNING! Shock Hazard: This product is provided with either a polarized (one wide blade) or grounded (3-prong) plug to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized or grounded outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounding type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type, 3-wire cord. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.
To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit as this appliance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I clean my electric coffee maker?
Refer to the user manual for specific cleaning instructions. Generally, you can clean the carafe, filter basket, and lid with warm, soapy water. Some parts may be dishwasher-safe. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
Can I use vinegar to descale my coffee maker?
Yes, vinegar is commonly used to remove mineral deposits and descale coffee makers. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, pour the solution into the water reservoir, and run a brewing cycle. Follow with several cycles of plain water to rinse.
How often should I clean and descale my coffee maker?
Regular cleaning is recommended after every use, and descaling should be done every 1-3 months, depending on the water hardness. Hard water may require more frequent descaling.
How much coffee should I use per cup?
A general guideline is 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds per 6 ounces of water, but you can adjust according to your taste preferences.
What type of coffee filter should I use?
Electric coffee makers often use paper filters or reusable metal filters. Paper filters are disposable and provide a clean cup of coffee, while metal filters allow more oils and sediment to pass through, resulting in a richer flavor.
My coffee maker is not turning on. What should I do?
Ensure the coffee maker is properly plugged in and the outlet is working. Check if there’s a power switch or button that needs to be turned on. If the issue persists, consult the user manual or contact customer support.
How long does it take for a coffee maker to brew a pot of coffee?
Brewing times vary, but most electric coffee makers can brew a pot of coffee in 6-10 minutes, depending on the quantity and desired strength.
Can I use ground coffee beans in a coffee maker designed for pods?
It depends on the specific coffee maker. Some pod-based coffee makers offer a separate accessory or attachment for brewing with ground coffee, while others are designed exclusively for pods. Check the user manual or manufacturer’s instructions.
Why does my coffee taste bitter?
Bitter coffee can be caused by using too many coffee grounds, using overly fine grounds, brewing at high temperatures, or leaving the coffee to sit on a warming plate for too long. Experiment with adjusting these factors to find your desired taste.
How long can I keep brewed coffee in the carafe?
Ideally, it’s best to consume brewed coffee within 30 minutes to maintain its optimal flavor. After that, the coffee can start to taste stale or develop flavors.
Why does my coffee maker overflow during brewing?
Overflows can occur due to overfilling the water reservoir, using too many coffee grounds, or a clogged or incorrectly positioned filter. Ensure you’re following the recommended measurements and check for any blockages or misalignments.
