INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
-
If this is a retrofit installation, remove the existing keypad from the front of the container. Carefully pass the lock cable through the spindle hole.
-
Remove the keypad base from the box and carefully pull the lock cable through the hole in the middle of the keypad base. Using the appropriate standard or metric screw thread, secure the bottom screw to mount the base to the front of the safe. Please note that the keypad base should be oriented so that the snap and the black & red power wires are at the bottom of the base.
-
After securing the keypad base to the door, place 4AA 1.5V batteries (S&G recommends Duracell Procell) into the battery compartment in the keypad base. Please make sure to follow the polarity of each battery before inserting them into the keypad base.
-
Using the remaining mounting screw, carefully connect the keypad housing’s green grounding wire to the top of the keypad base plate. Rotate the green wire to the bottom position of the screw and secure. Slide the clear protective sleeve as close to the screw as possible. Next carefully connect the battery cable from the keypad base and the lock cable to the keypad housing. Both connectors are “keyed”, so they will only connect one way. Make sure that the connections are secure.
Important Note: Ensure the protective sleeve covers the metal connector if the ground wire is not being used. -
A) Secure the housing onto the base. The top of the keypad housing should slide into the top of the keypad base. The bottom of the keypad housing should then be pressed onto the base until the bottom latch engages.
B) Lock the housing in place by adding a securing screw to the left of the bottom release latch. -
Your keypad should now be ready to use. Simply touch the keypad screen to turn it on.
Important Note: The I-Series operates with the existing safe lock combination. If already programmed simply enter your combination and press # to open the lock.
If a combination needs to be changed or entered your standard combination change instructions for the lock model you have will be utilized.

REPLACING THE BATTERIES
When the batteries are low and need to be replaced, the keypad will emit low battery beeps and the battery meter will be shown as red on the display. The keypad requires four AA, 1.5V batteries and any replacement batteries should be Duracell. -
A) Remove the bottom securing lock screw to the left of the release button. B) Press the release button to detach the keypad housing.
-
Carefully lift the keypad housing away from the base. Please note that the keypad housing raises up from the bottom.
-
Carefully remove the lock cable and the battery cable from the keypad housing. The keypad will remain secured to the base via the green grounding wire. Batteries will be accessible but if more room is required, remove the green wire’s mounting screw from the base and carefully set the housing aside in a safe place.
-
Remove the batteries from keypad base and replace them with four fresh batteries. Please note that all four batteries should be replaced at the same time.
Uses 4 AA, 1.5V batteries (S&G recommends Duracell Porcello) -
Carefully re-connect the battery cable from the keypad base and the lock cable into the keypad housing. Both connectors are “keyed”, so they will only connect one way. Make sure that the connections are secure.
-
A) Carefully secure the keypad housing back onto the base. The top of the keypad housing should slide into the top of the keypad base. The bottom of the keypad housing should then be pressed onto the base until the bottom latch engages. B) Lock the housing in place by with the securing screw to the left of the bottom release latch.
