The UIMA4 Interface
The UIMA4 interface has 3 connectors.
- 9 pin male serial connector for connecting the UIMA4 to the 9 pin male to female serial cable and then to the RS-232 serial port on some products
- USB B female connector for connecting the UIMA4 to the USB A to B male cable and then to the computer
- 10 pin female connector for connecting the UIMA4 to the configuration port or debug interface on some products
The 10 pin cable can be disconnected and replaced if necessary. This kit includes one replacement cable. If you need more replacement cables, use the Mircom part number RPL-WC-25022.
2.1 To disconnect the 10 pin cable
- Insert a small flathead screwdriver in one of the grooves on the side of the case, then turn the screwdriver to open the case.
- Disconnect the 10 pin cable from the board (see picture below).
Install Software
3.1 Install UIMA4 Driver
Refer to the included manual LT-6231 for instructions on installing the driver
for the UIMA4 interface.
Connections for Configuration
Attention: Always connect the UIMA4 interface to the computer first,
before connecting it to the fire alarm product.

4.2 Computer to FX-400, FX-401, FX-3500, FX-3500RCU, FX-3318, MR-3500, MR- 3500RCU, MR-3318, QX-mini, AUDMAX-MASTER
Connect the cable to the USB port on the main board.
Connections for the FleX-Net™ MP Upgrade Wizard
Attention: Always connect the UIMA4 interface to the computer first,
before connecting it to the fire alarm product.
Note: Refer to the included manual LT-6232 for instructions on using the
FleX-Net™ MP Upgrade Wizard.
5.1 Main CPU on FX-2000N, FX-4000N and MMX-2000N Series Panels
On FX-4000N boards, turn switch 7 of SW2 ON and switch 8 of SW2 OFF in order
to use the FleX-Net™ MP Upgrade Wizard. After the firmware upgrade is
complete, turn both switch 7 and switch 8 OFF.
5.2 RAXN-LCD(G) and RAXN-4000LCD(G) Remote Annunciator
