Basement Wash-Dog WDT20 Sump System Cleaner
Product Information
The product contains Ethanedioic acid dihydrate, which is a chemical that is a natural component of plants and vegetables. It can be used for various purposes, but at high doses, it can be very dangerous. The product is designed to mitigate iron ochre and other deposits in your sump system.
Product Usage Instructions
- Temporarily turn off your sump and backup pump. Fill the pit with clean water before adding Basement Wash-DogTM to prevent dangerous water levels. Watch for off-gassing during this process.
- Drop 5 tablets into the sump pit. Adjust the number of tablets as needed to clear your problem over time.
- If the pit doesn’t fill on its own, fill it with water using a garden hose or other means. Circulate the solution down the drain tile, if possible.
- Allow the product to saturate and cleanse the system. Soaking longer will improve results. You may see foaming during this process.
- The product will continue to be cleaned for up to 24 hours. Once you are satisfied with the degree of cleaning, plug the primary sump pump back into AC power and empty water from drain tile and pit.
- Rinse the pit and pump with fresh water, and run the pump through multiple cycles to dilute the discharged Basement Wash-DogTM solution.
- The cleaning process will need to be repeated periodically. Reapplication frequency will vary depending on the severity of the iron ochre issue in your sump system.

Instructions for Introducing Basement Wash-Dog™ into Your Sump System for Mitigation of Iron Ochre and Other Deposits
- Temporarily turn off your sump and backup pump. This allows the pit to fill without pumping out water. While the pumps are off, keep an eye on the water level to make sure the pit does not overflow.
- Drop tablets into the sump pit, start with 5 tablets. Every house is different and you will learn how much you need to clear your problem over time. Use as needed.
- If your pit doesn’t fill on its own, fill the pit with water, either by allowing groundwater to rise or by introducing water via a garden hose or other means. If possible, circulate the Wash-Dog™ solution down the drain tile, allowing it to clear the tile and keep water flowing.
- Allow the product to saturate. The longer you allow saturation, the more effective the product will be. As the product cleanses, you may see foaming. Reaction times will vary and soaking longer will improve results.
- The product is strong enough to continue cleaning for up to 24 hours; however, most people will see noticeable improvement quickly. Once you are satisfied with the degree of cleaning, plug the primary sump pump back into AC power and empty water from the drain tile and pit.
- Rinse the pit and pump with fresh water and run the pump through multiple cycles to dilute the discharged Basement Wash-Dog™ solution.
- The cleaning process will need to be repeated periodically. Reapplication frequency will vary depending on the severity of the iron ochre issue in your sump system.
- Please store in a cool dry area.
WARNING:
