Press the OK/Menu button to change the standby screen from the mixed dash dam and speed trap detection view shown, to full speed trap detection only view.
Installation
If the SD card isn’t already installed, please insert the micro SD card in to the SD card slot on the side of the unit and attach the windscreen bracket to the DX1200. Mount your DX1200 in a safe and convenient position in the front windscreen where it has an unobstructed view of the road ahead. We recommend mounting it at the top of the windscreen near to the rear view mirror. However, remember that you will need to attach the power cable, so find a position where the power cable can be attached to the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket where it will not obstruct, or become a danger to the driver.
Once you have chosen a location, check the windscreen bracket lever is in the unlocked position, press the suction cup bracket to the glass and push the lever to the locked position.
Connecting to power
Attach the small end of the USB cable to the USB power socket on the side of
the unit . Attach the other end to the vehicle charger provided. Plug the
vehicle charger into an appropriate cigarette lighter or 12V/24V socket in
your vehicle. The USB cable can also be plugged directly into a USB accessory
port if your vehicle has one.
Installation tips
Before mounting your DX1200, clean the area of the windscreen with a good
quality glass cleaner to ensure the suction cup makes a good contact. Remember
to mount the unit and install the power cable safely in a location where it
does not interfere with the driver or the controls of the vehicle. Although
your DX1200 comes as standard with an 32GB micro SD card, it will support up
to a 64GB micro SD card if you want to update the card to a larger size. If
you do update the SD card, remember to select an SD card which is minimum SDHC
Class 10.
It is also possible to ‘hard-wire’ your DX1200 and hide the power cables providing a neater installation. 5V Hard-wire leads can be purchased from the Accessory section of our website www.aguriworld.co.uk Please contact an auto electrician or your local car dealer if you are not familiar with this type of installation. Please note that DX1200 requires a 5V feed, so if you do ‘hard wire’ the unit you must purchase a suitable 5V Hard-wire lead.
Basic features
Your Aguri DX1200 comes as standard with all features set to their optimum settings, however the unit has certain user selectable features you can change to suit your own requirements.
Switching views and entering the Setting menus
You can switch between two different views; full screen speed trap detection
mode and a combined view of speed trap detection and video. Use the Menu
button to switch between the two different views as well as to enter the
Settings menu.
Power on/off
Your DX1200 will Power on and start to record automatically as soon as it is
connected to power. You can also power it on and off manually. Press and hold
the Power button for 2 seconds to power on, press and hold the Power button
for 3 seconds to power off.
Camera mode
Press the Up button below the Camera icon to take a still photograph. Any
photographs you take will be saved to the SD card.
Video play back
Press the Down button to enter the video play back mode. You will see three
folders. Normal video, Emergency File (video that has been locked and saved)
and Photo. Use the Up and Down buttons to scroll through the options and press
the OK button to select the folder you would like to access.
Lock video function
If you want to ensure you save and lock a section of video, for example,
during an emergency or after an accident, press the Emergency/Return button.
The video clip will then be locked and saved into the Emergency File folder on
the SD card.
Automatic video and event recording
Your DX1200 dash cam has been designed to be as simple to use as possible. The
purpose of a dash cam is to continually record the road ahead and to
automatically record and save any incidents or accidents you might be involved
in. To ensure that your DX1200 does this as efficiently as possible, it will
always power up into video mode and begin recording automatically. Simply
connect your DX1200 to a power source that comes on with the ignition or when
you start the engine, and DX1200 will start recording automatically without
you having to remember to touch a button.
Video playback and deleting video files from your DX1200
To review any video recorded directly on your DX1200, press the DownNideo
playback button. Choose between Normal Video, Emergency Files or Photo using
the up or down buttons and press OK to make your selection. Use the up or down
buttons to scroll through the videos or photos recorded and press the OK/Play
button to select the section of video you want to watch.
Once in playback mode press the OK button to play the video, the Down button to move on to the next clip recorded, the Up button to delete the clip and the Lock button to exit the clip. If you want to delete all the video files on the SD card, go to the Settings menu and select Format.
Video playback and tracking using Aguri DX1200 GPS and video playback
software.
To view video recordings on your PC or Mac, you must first install the Aguri
DX1200 GPS and video playback software. The software can be downloaded from
the Software update section of our website
www.aguriworld.co.uk.
Using the Aguri DX1200 Viewbox PC companion
To view video and GPS track files recorded on your DX1200, remove the micro SD
card from the DX1200 and insert it into your computer. (Please note that you
will need an appropriate micro SD Card reader for this task) Next, launch the
Aguri DX1200 Viewbox software by double-clicking on the Aguri DX1200 Viewbox
icon that you should now find on the desktop of your PC. The following window
will appear. 
- Distance vehicle travels in each GPS track.
- Browse and open video and GPS track files on your PC.
- Play/Pause a video and GPS file
- Stop the video and GPS file currently playing.
- Take a single screen shot from a length of video playing.
- Time of recording.
- GPS co-ordinates.
- GPS Speed vehicle traveling in the video.
- Maximum speed vehicle achieves in each GPS track recorded.
- Average GPS speed of the vehicle.
- Expand the video to fill the screen

To view a recording and display the GPS track, click on the ‘Search Directory’ button and browse your computer until you find your DX1200 displayed as a ‘Removable disc’ (You should find it in the ‘My Computer’ or ‘This PC’ directory of your PC if connected correctly) Double click on the ‘Removable disc’ folder and select either ‘Event’ or ‘Normal’ and press OK to import the files into the DX1200 video player software. The video/GPS track files recorded will appear in the two data lists at the bottom of the Aguri DX1200 Viewbox as indicated above. Highlight the video file you want to run and press the Play button or simply double-click the video file you want to review to launch it.
Video recording settings
If you would like to fine-tune any of the settings on your DX1200, follow the instructions below. Enter the Menu by pressing the OK button, and then press the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to scroll through the various settings.
Resolution
To change the Resolution, enter the Menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons
until you highlight ‘Resolution’ and press the OK button to select. Use the
‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to choose between 1080P or 780P Press the OK button to
make your selection and return to the menu. To exit the menu, press the
Lock/Return button.
Loop recording
You can adjust the length of each loop of video recorded.
To change the Loop time, enter the menu and highlight ‘Loop recording’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ button to choose between 1 minute, 3 minutes, or 5 minutes. Press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu. To exit the menu, press the Lock/Return button.
Time setup
It is important to set the date and time so that any accidents or incidents
recorded are saved with the appropriate time and date information attached to
them. The Time is set automatically when the device connects to GPS but you
will need to manually switch between GMT and British summertime. Press the
OK/Menu button to enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to
highlight the ‘Time setup’. Next, use the’-‘ or’+’ buttons to adjust the UTC
hour by +1 for British summertime or leave at O for GMT. Press the OK button
to save your setting and return to the menu.
Drive ID
Use this setting to add a Driver ID to your video files.
Enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight the ‘Driver ID’ setting’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to scroll through the alphabet and press the OK button to highlight the letter you want and move on to the next field. Once you have entered the Driver ID required, press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu.
Microphone
Use this setting to switch the microphone on or off.
Enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight ‘Mic set-up’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to choose between ‘On’ or ‘Off’. Press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu. To exit the menu, press the Lock/Return button.
Parking monitoring – DX1200 will monitor for any impacts when powered
off.
If Parking monitoring is switched on, your DX1200 will monitor for any impacts
to your vehicle and will automatically power up and record for a period of
approximately 20 seconds. Please note that Parking monitoring operates using
the unit’s built-in battery and can only operate successfully for as long as
the battery has sufficient charge. DX1200 Parking monitoring can last up to 14
days from a full charge.
To switch Parking mode on or off, enter the settings menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight ‘Parking mode’. Select ii by pressing the OK button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to choose between ‘On’ or ‘Off’. Press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu. To exit the menu, press the Lock/Return button.
G-Sensor
Your DX1200 has a built-in G-Sensor which continually monitors for impact or
sudden changes in direction or speed, so it can sense whether your vehicle has
been involved in an incident or accident. If the GSensor senses one of these
things, your DX1200 will automatically lock and save the preceding length of
video recorded so that you will have a permanent record of the event.
Your unit comes with the G-Sensor set to Medium sensitivity, which we think is the optimum setting but you can change this if required. To change the G-Sensor sensitivity, enter the settings menu by pressing the OK/Menu button, and use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to highlight the ‘G-Sensor’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ button to choose between Off, High, Medium or Low. Press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu. To exit the menu, press the Lock/Return button.
Date, time, speed, and Driver ID stamp
Use this setting to add the date, lime, speed, and driver ID stamp to all
recordings and photographs. Enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons
to highlight the ‘Stamp setting’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use
the ‘Up’, ‘Down’, and OK buttons to highlight and select the information you
would like to ‘stamp’ on each recording or photograph.
User tip:
If you want to ‘stamp’ a ‘Driver ID’ you will have to first add one to your
DX1200. Find instructions on how to set the ‘Driver ID’ further on, in this
User Guide.
Audible setup & volume control
There are seven audible settings, High (Voice), Medium (Voice), Low (Voice), Beep high, Beep medium, Beep low and Off (All audible alerts are switched off) To make your selection, enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight ‘Audible’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use the ‘up’ or ‘down’ button to choose the volume level you require. Press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu.
Beep sound setting
DX1200 will emit a beep each time you press a button. You can switch this beep
on or off depending on your preference.
To make your selection, enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight ‘Beep sound’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to choose between Off or On. Press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu.
Screen saver
You can control whether you would like the LCD to be on or off whilst you are
driving. If you set the LCD to stay on, it will display what it is recording
or the speed trap detection view as you drive. If you set the LCD to switch
off, it will display what it is recording or the speed trap detection view for
a short period after you first power on the device but will then switch off
automatically. Even though the LCD switches off, the unit will continue to
record in the background and the LCD will automatically switch back on during
speed trap alerts.
To make your selection, enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight ‘Screen saver’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to choose between ‘Always on’ or to automatically switch off after 1, 3 or 5 minutes. Press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu.
Language
You can change the menu language between English, German or Italian. Russia.
To make your selection, enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight ‘Language’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use the up or down button to choose the language you require. Press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu.
Exposure
You can adjust the exposure you require. For example, during the winter you
may want to change the exposure to account for the darker days. To change the
exposure, enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to highlight
‘Exposure’ and select it by pressing the OK button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’
buttons to adjust the EV exposure as necessary and press the OK button to save
your selection and return to the menu.
To exit the menu, press the Lock/Return button.
Auto Power Off Setting
If you would like your DX1200 to power off when not in use and when not
connected to a permanent 12V feed, you can set it to automatically power off
after 1, 3 or 5 minutes.
To make your selection, enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to
highlight ‘Auto off Setting’. Select it by pressing the OK button and use the
‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to choose between Off, 1 minute, 3 minutes or 5
minutes. Press the OK button to save your selection and return to the menu.
Satellite info
You can check whether you have a good satellite connection and how many
satellites your DX1200 is connected to at any time.
Enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight ‘Auto off Setting’ and select it by pressing the OK button. The number of satellites your unit is connected to and the signal strength of each will be displayed on the screen. Press the Lock/Return button to exit and return to the menu.
Speed Warning
Speed Warning – Over speed reminder
Use this function if you would like your DX1200 to alert you if you exceed a
speed limit you select.
Enter the settings menu by pressing the OK/Menu button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons until you highlight ‘Speed warning’ and press OK. Next, use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to adjust the speed limit value to the value you require and press OK to make your selection and return to the menu.
Speed unit
Use this setting to switch your DX1200 between KMH and MPH
Enter the settings menu by pressing the OK/Menu button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons until you highlight ‘Speed unit and press OK. Next, use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight your preferred setting and press OK to make your selection and return to the menu.
Trim GPS speed to match your speedometer
You can fine-tune the GPS speed displayed on your DX1200 if it differs from
the speed displayed by your vehicle’s speedometer so that they match. Enter
the settings menu by pressing the OK/Menu button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’
buttons until you highlight ‘Trim GPS speed’ and press OK. Next, use the ‘Up’
or ‘Down’ buttons to adjust the GPS speed value to the value you require and
press OK to make your selection and return to the menu.
Speed trap alerts
Use this setting to switch GPS fixed speed trap alerts on or off.
Enter the settings menu by pressing the OK/Menu button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons until you highlight ‘Speed trap alert’ and press OK. Next, use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight your preferred setting and press OK to make your selection and return to the menu.
Red light camera
Use this setting to switch Red light camera alerts on or off.
Enter the settings menu by pressing the OK/Menu button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons until you highlight ‘Red light camera’ and press OK. Next, use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight your preferred setting and press OK to make your selection and return to the menu.
Mobile speed trap alert
Use this setting to switch Mobile speed trap alerts on or off.
Enter the settings menu by pressing the OK/Menu button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons until you highlight ‘Mobile speed trap alert’ and press OK. Next, use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to highlight your preferred setting and press OK to make your selection and return to the menu.
Directional alerts
You can set your DX1200 to alert to speed cameras in both directions or only
in the direction of operation.
Enter the settings menu by pressing the OK/Menu button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons until you highlight ‘Direction’ and press OK. Next, use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to select ‘On’ for alerts in only the direction of operation or ‘Off to get alerts in both directions of travel. Highlight your preferred setting and press OK to make your selection and return to the menu.
Smart mute
You can set your DX1200 to only provide an audible alert of a speed camera
when traveling above the posted speed limit.
Enter the settings menu by pressing the OK/Menu button and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to switch the setting ‘On’ or ‘Off’. Press OK to make your selection and return to the menu.
Format SD card
If you are adding a new SD card to the device we recommend you format it before use. We also recommend that you format the existing SD card on a regular basis to maintain the health of the card. You can also use this function if you would like to delete all the video footage from your card.
To Format an SD card, enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to highlight ‘Format’ and select it by pressing the OK button. Press the ‘Tick’ button to proceed or the Lock/Return button to exit and return to the menu without formatting the card.
User tip:
Please remember that if you Format an SD card, any data or video recorded and
saved to that card will be permanently deleted.
Default setting
Use this function to return your DX1200 to its original default factory settings. Enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to highlight ‘Default setting’ and select it by pressing the OK button. Use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to choose ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ and press OK to make your selection. Your DX1200 will power off and back on with the settings returned to the original factory settings. Although this will return your units to its original settings, it will not delete any vide files from the SD card.
Version Info
Use this feature to check the version number of the software currently
installed on your DX1200. Enter the menu and use the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buttons to
highlight ‘Version Info’ and select it by pressing the OK button. The version
number currently installed will be displayed. Press the Lock/Return button to
return to the menu.
How do I update the speed trap database and software on my DX1200 dash
cam?
Speed trap database and software updates can be found on the ‘Software
updates’ section of our website
www.aguriworld.co.uk.
Scroll down the list of software updates available and click on the download link for ‘DX1200 Speed trap and software updates’ Once you have downloaded the folder to your PC you will need to unzip it to access the updates inside. If you don’t already have Zip software installed on your PC, you can download and install. zip for free from www.7zip.org. Step-by-step instructions explaining how to unzip a folder using? zip can be found in the FAQ section of our website.
Next, remove the SD card from the DX1200 and insert it into your computer using the SD card reader included. Open the SD card so you can see the files already on it and then ‘drag’ or ‘copy and paste’ the new DX1200 software updater files from your PC onto the SD card.
Please note that the folder may contain two separate files depending on the updates available. The speed trap database update is called ‘edogdata.dat’ and ‘firmware.bin’ if we have also released a firmware update.
Once you have copied the two files to the root of the SD card, safely remove the SD card from your computer and re-insert it into your DX1200. Please note that the dog data and firmware files must be put directly onto the card and not placed into any folders already on the card, so you can clearly see the name of the two files. Finally, power on the unit, and the DX1200 will update automatically. The red LED will flash rapidly if there is a firmware update to install, followed by a message confirming that the dog data speed trap database update is being installed.
Once the update is complete, your DX12000 will be ready to use again.
Disposal
Disposal of Old Electrical & Electronic Equipment – applicable in the
European Union.
If you see this symbol on a product or its packaging, it indicates that the
product should not be treated as normal household waste. If you see this
symbol on any product or packaging it should be handed over to an applicable
collection point for the recycling of electrical equipment. By ensuring that
this product is disposed of correctly you will help prevent a potentially
negative impact on the environment. In addition, the recycling of materials
will help to conserve natural resources. For further information about
recycling please contact your local civic office or recycling centre.
