It is important that no inflammable items are near to the device. Do not place the device on the edge of the table so that it cannot be touched by children or fall down when touched.
Danger of foam:
Never put egg, milk, cream or similar to the rice. Always, wash the rice
before cooking. Else there could be foam during cooking.
How much rice has to be used?
At 2 measuring cups rice add 3 measuring cups water
At 3 measuring cups rice add 4 measuring cups water
At 4 measuring cups rice add 5 measuring cups water
At 5 measuring cups rice add 6 measuring cups water
At 6 measuring cups rice add 7 measuring cups water
At 7 measuring cups rice add 8 measuring cups water
You can add spices like chili to the water. Different types of rice require a
little more water. In the case of wild and natural rice, add half a measuring
cup of water to the above amounts!
Cooking rice
- Place the inner pot into the appliance. It must be ensured that no rice corn sticks to the heating plate or to the pot button, as this will have a negative effect on the control. Turn the pot slightly to the left and the right that there is a sufficient contact to the heating plate and the thermostat. Never put liquids or rice in the outer pot /housing.
- Never use rice bags, only put loose rice in the cooking pot. To avoid the building of foam, the rice should be rinsed with cold water in a sieve and put into the inner pot. Use at least 2 measuring cups, maximum 7 measuring cups of rice! Never use more than 7 measuring cups of rice as the rice will swell.
- Close the lid, first press the main switch on the back of the device and then the thermal switch, the red “Cook” lamp lights up. After the end of the cooking time, the appliance switches to warming, the yellow “Warm” lamp lights up. When the cooking time is over, stir the rice well to allow excess water to evaporate. Close the lid again. The rice will steam up. Some types then become soft and sticky, if the rice is too firm use a little more water. With different types of rice, the rice grains on the bottom of the pot may brown slightly. Due to the system, this cannot be prevented. If necessary, stir briefly while cooking. To avoid scratches, use the supplied plastic spoon to remove.
Steaming
With the steaming insert it is possible to steam vegetables or fish. Cut the
food in mouth sized pieces and place them equally on the steaming insert. The
vegetables must not protrude over the edge of the insert.
Two cups of water should be poured inside the inner pot, then the steaming
insert should be placed inside the pot, close the lid and start the appliance.
When steam escapes from the valve the water is boiling. Let the appliance then
work for some minutes and check the status of the food according to the own
wishes.
