Operating Instructions

  1. Connect the power cord to the base and plug it into a grounded outlet.
Note: It’s highly recommended to install a floss bowl stabilizing net (#382CCMNET sold separately) for optimal performance.

  2. Switch both the “power” and “heat” switches to the ON position. Both switches will light up when turned on.

  3. Allow the machine 2-3 minutes to heat up.

  4. Add floss sugar directly into the well in the heating head. Do not overfill.

  5. Cotton candy will begin to spin around the bowl as the heater head continues to operate. As the cotton candy accumulates, it will build up and come out through the top of the spinner head. You will need to collect the cotton candy as it comes out of the top of the unit.

  6. Allow the machine to cool down for 15-20 minutes after an hour of continuous use.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. After use be sure to turn off and unplug the machine.
  2. Allow all components to cool off to a temperature that is safe to touch.
  3. Wipe down the spinning head with water, a mild soap such as 147SUNBRIGHT, and a non-abrasive towel. Then wipe with clear water. Dry Completely. Note: for higher volume usage, please ensure to clean the spinning head frequently to prevent build-up of burnt sugar.
  4. Remove the four screws from the top of the spinning head and remove the bowl which holds the floss sugar.
  5. Wires are now exposed. Cover the opening with a towel to prevent any outside contaminants.
  6. It may be necessary after heavy use to first soak the bowl in hot water and mild soap prior to step 7.

Troubleshooting

Issues Cause Solution
Unit will not power up
  1. Some units (382CCME21) are equipped with a bowl in place switch.
  2. Confirm electrical supply.

|

  1. Confirm that all 4 clamps are locked in place. The front left clamp has a switch that must be activated for power to be supplied to the unit.

Unit has power but will not heat consistently|

  1. Carbon brushes maybe worn, broken, or misaligned.
  2. High temperature limit protection has tripped.

|

  1. A qualified technician can maintain these brushes to ensure sugar is being melted correctly.
  2. Allow unit to cool for 10-15 minutes.

Not producing floss, burning smells, poor quality cotton candy|

  1. Heating head is dirty and clogged with sugar.
  2. Old or expired cotton candy sugar being used.
  3. Hot and humid environments can make the sugar gummy. This will result in poor cotton candy quality.

|

  1. Clean the heating head per instructions.
  2. Purchase new cotton candy floss such as #38016005.
  3. Operate the unit in a climate-controlled environment.

Bad Vibration|

  1. Bowl is hitting the spinning head.
  2. Bowl is not installed properly, unlevel or off center.

|

  1. Unclamp the bowl from the base. Center head in bowl and re-clamp.
  2. Make sure the bowl is installed properly and securely clamped down to the main body.
  3. Make sure the machine is placed on a firm and level surface.

Unit has power but does not spin|

  1. The drive belt isn’t working properly (except for CCM21CT).
  2. Motor protection has tripped.
  3. Blown fuse (CCME21 and CCM28).

|

  1. The spinning head must be removed to inspect the belt condition. The belt must be clean and flexible and tensioned properly.
  2. Allow unit to cool and then restart.
  3. Replace fuse.

Does not produce cotton candy or the flow is being product under the bowl|

  1. Place your hand a safe distance above the spinning head to confirm that air is being pushed up from the center of the unit OR you can start and stop the unit and note if the direction of rotation is clockwise.

|

  1. If no upward airflow is detected but the head is spinning (in counter clockwise direction) then contact Carnival King.
