MOUNTING ON A CONCRETE OR BRICK WALL
- The product should be mounted onto reinforced concrete or solid brick walls. Minimum installation height is 2.5 m. Request professional help if you are uncertain.
- If the building has a veneer wall or an outer shell, facing bricks or a facing panel and additional insulation for example, then the installation should be carried out by a professional. Contact a professional if there are cracks in the wall.
Check that the wall is flat so the fixtures can be securely fitted.
NOTE: Carefully choose a place to install the product that is safe and hassle-free. At least two adults with sufficient technical knowledge are required to install the product.
Step J: Choose installation place
Be aware of the angle of the product when choosing an installation location.
The angle of inclination of the product is factory set. The angle of
inclination can be set to between 14° and 50°, however we do not recommend
changing the angle from the factory setting. We recommend that the product is
installed so that the front rail is at least 2.5 m above the ground when the
product is completely extended. At an angle of 14° the lower drill hole for
the fixtures
should be placed 60 cm higher than the desired height for the front rail.
If the product is installed above a balcony door or similar if possible, leave at least 20 cm free space above the door frame.
Observe the angle of inclination when choosing the installation location. We
recommend that the front rail is placed at l ast 2.5 m above the ground and
that the total height difference A is at least 0.60 m. If the front rail is to
be placed 2.5 m above the ground then the lower drill hole should be placed
3.1 m above the ground.
Step 2: Mark out the drill holes
- Mark a horizontal line at the correct height in the desired area, using the spirit level, tape measure and chalk or pen.
- Measure and mark the position of the fixtures on the wall. See illustration below for installation measurements.
- Hold a fixture with the lower fixture hole at the same height as the line and mark the two holes.
- You can also lay the awning with the fixtures on the packaging and mark the holes, and then use the packaging as a template for marking out the fixture holes. Use a spirit level.
Mark the drill holes using the spirit level to ensure that the product is installed horiiontally.
Step 3: Drill the holes
Drill holes at the marked places with a 14 mm rock drill. The holes should be
90 mm deep and be drilled into reinforced concrete or solid masonry. Do not
drill into mortar joints as they do not have enough strength.
Step 4: Insert the expansion bolts
- Blow the holes clean after drilling.
- Loosen the nuts, washer and clampinq ring and lay them to one side, so that they are within reach during installation. Then insert stronq expansion bolts into the holes.
IMPORTANT! You may need to hammer the expansion bolts with a mallet. Screw a nut loosely onto the expansion bolts. Screw the nut until the expansion bolt fills the nut evenly and tightly. Do not tighten the nut so much that the screw anchor expander begins to expand. This means that the screw anchor expander is driven in, without expanding, when you hit the screw. Do not hit the expansion bolt hard to insert it, as this may damage the screw anchor expander. For correct installation the entire anchor screw must be in the hole. If needed, pull out the expansion bolt and drill a deeper hole.
NOTE: If it is easy to pull out the expansion bolt by pulling on the nut,
the expansion bolt has not got sufficient grip. In this case you must move the
entire product at least IN cm and try again in a new position.
Step 5: Mount the fixtures
- Place the fixtures on the screws that stick out from the wall.
- Place a flat washer and a spring washer on each screw and fix in place with the nuts. Tighten firmly.
The product can also be installed in a concrete ceiling. This kind of
installation must be carried out by a professional.
Fixtures ready for mounting on the wall. Use the pictures to install suitably.
IMPORTANT
- Tighten the nuts with 17 mm ring spanner or socket wrench. Do not use an open-ended spanner it may slip and damage the nuts.
- Tighten the nuts so that the fixtures are completely fastened to the base and cannot move.
- Never attempt to mount the fixtures to a base which is not strong or stable enough or which is not absolutely securely fixed to the wall.
NOTE: Pull the fixtures to check that they are stable and cannot come loose.
Step 6: Mount the awning
When all the fixtures are attached the awning should be hung up.
NOTE: At least two adults are required, each on a stable stepladder or similar for installation.
- Hang the awning up on the fixtures as shown in the pictures and fix it in place with the accompanying round-headed screws.
- Screw the nuts onto the screws and tighten.
Hang the awning on the fixtures as shown in the illustration.
Fix in place with screws, flat washers and nuts.
If it is not possible to insert the rectangular tubes into the fixtures, loosen the expansion bolts‘ nuts on the fixtures and try again. Move the awning backwards and forwards slightly so that the tubes slide into place in the fixtures. Then tighten the expansion bolts’ nuts using a 17 mm Allen key.
NOTE: Always tighten the expansion bolts’ nuts once the awning has been placed on the fixtures.
- After installation, remove the band that prevents the awning from being extended. Save the band for use if the product should be put into storage.
NOTE: Improper installation and/or use causes risk of serious iniury. If you are not sure whether the chosen installation location is suitable or if you are not sure whether you understand all parts of the assembly instructions, seek professional assistance.
SETTING THE ANGLE OF INCLINATION
The product is delivered pre-set to the optimal angle of inclination. The angle of inclination can be set to between 14’ and 50’, however we do not recommend changing the angle from the factory setting. Never set the angle of inclination to less than 14’, even if the construction allows smaller angles.
WARNING Never turn the setting screws further than the end position, as
this can damage the product, cause personal injury and invalidates the
guarantee. Never extend the product more than 1/4 before adjustment.
Turn the setting screws clockwise to reduce and anti-clockwise to increase the
angle of inclination.
When the desired anqle of inclination has been set, tighten the nuts and replace the plastic hoods.
Repeat the procedure until all the arms have the correct angle.
- The front rail should be horizontal. The front rail has an inbuilt spirit level. The bubble is in the middle of the two marked lines in the spirit level when the rsi\ is horizontal.
- Replace the plastic hoods over the screws to protect them.
- Always remove the crank handle and keep it dry and protected when the awning is not in use.
EXTENDING AND RETRACTING
Extend and retract the product using the accompanying crank handle.
- Hook the crank handle into the loop on the product.

Regular maintenance ensures the product will continue to function correctly and safely and last longer.
- Regularly check that the fixtures are securely attached. Tighten them if they are loose.
- Check the gearbox every six months. If the gearbox is damaged, it must be repaired or replaced before the product is used again.
- Check and, if necessary tighten, all screw connections every six months.
- Do not use the product if it is damaged or if the connections are loose.
The moving parts of the product do not normally need to be oiled. If it is stiff when extending the product, or if any unusual noises can be heard, the moving parts can be oiled with a lubricant which does not damage plastic material.
Do not use petroleum-based lubricant.
Attach a tube to the nozzle and spray generously with lubricant between the
end of the roller and the pivot at the end. Be careful not to spray the
canvas.
Cleaning
Regularly clean the frame with a cloth moistened with water and mild cleaning
agent. Do not use strong or abrasive cleaning agents. Clean the fabric every
six months with lukewarm water and mild cleaning agent. Let the fabric dry
completely. Never attempt to dry the fabric with a hairdryer, fan heater or
similar. Dismantling.
NOTE: Follow all instructions and safety instructions when dismantling. Dismantling must be carried out by at least 2 adults.
- Retract the product completely before dismantling. Fasten the arms in the retracted position to avoid them falling out – risk of personal injury and/or damage to property. You can use the accompanying band.
- Dismantle the product by following the assembly instructions in reverse order. The drill holes in the wall must be sealed in accordance with professional construction practices.
Storage
- We recommend that the product should be removed and stored in a dry, protected place if it is not going to be used for a long time.
