The thermostat has a big digital display for easy reading of temperature. The programmable control range of the thermostat is -19,5 … +70 °C. With Eco flex Supra Standard pipes, the recommended control range is 0 … +20 °C.

  1. Use the power switch (A) to turn the thermostat OFF (position “0”) or ON (position “I”).
The relay will deactivate, when the switch is in position “0”, which will also save all settings.

  2. Use the three function buttons (B), (C) and (D) below the display to select parameter and set desired value.
    • Select parameter with button (D)
    • Set the desired value with buttons (B) [down] and (C) [up] • Whenever a button is pressed, the backlighting will come on and stay lit for 30 seconds after a button is last pressed.

  3. To select parameter, push button (D) for 3 seconds. The display will show SCA → Hi → 40.
The text “SCA” will be displayed first for 1 second, thereafter “Hi” and finally “40” will show on the display.
After this, the desired settings can be set with the arrow buttons.
To move to the next parameter, push button (D) again.

Parameter descriptions

Parameter Description
Adjust offset If the actual temperature measured with a thermometer differs

from the one displayed in the thermostat, the  thermostat can be adjusted to offset the difference.
Application| The application sets the thermostat function by selecting required control type.
The different control types are described in a separate sub-section below.
Control method| Either PWM or ON/OFF control can be selected as control method. ON/OFF is the traditional differential control (e.g. 0,3 °C) for other tasks.
PWM is an advanced control method which calculates the most effective and economical way to heat homes and other buildings.
Differential temperature| The differential temperature can be set when using ON/OFF control.
The higher the differential temperature is, the lower is the number of relay operations.
Frost protection| The lowest temperature for frost protection can be defined when the function is activated via an external signal.
Example: The setpoint is 25 °C.
Frost protection = 8 °C means temperature setting = 8 °C.
Limit function| If the application “Lapp” is set to limit “Li”, the lowest temperature at which heating is turned on can be defined in the limit function.
Max. temperature| Maximum temperature is the highest temperature to which the thermostat can be set.
Max. temperature limit| The maximum temperature limit allows the highest permissible floor temperature to be set for wooden and other floor types, when the control type has been set to room sensor with floor limit “AF”.
Measured floor temperature| Measured floor temperature displays the actual floor temperature when a floor sensor is connected.
Measured room temperature| Measured room temperature displays the actual room
temperature.
Min. temperature| Minimum temperature is the lowest temperature to which the thermostat can be set.
Min. temperature limit| The minimum temperature limit allows the lowest permissible floor temperature to be set for tiled and other  floor types, when the control type has been set to room sensor with floor limit “AF”.
Night setback/ energy-saving
function| The night setback/energy-saving function can be used to define the number of degrees the temperature setting  shall be reduced. The function is controlled via an external signal.
A minus sign “–” must precede the night setback setting.
Example: The setpoint is 25 °C.
Energy-saving function = –5 °C means temperature setting = 20 °C.
Energy-saving function = +3 °C means temperature setting = 28 °C.
PWM cycle time| The function allows cycle time to be set when using PWM control.
Recommended time is at least 20 minutes.
Relay function| When the thermostat used for heating purposes, the relay should be in the position normally open “NO” When  the thermostat used for cooling purposes, the relay should be turned to position normally closed “NC”
Scale| Choose between degrees Celsius and a numerical scale.
If the numerical scale is selected, the temperature is set on a scale from 0,0 to 10,0; where 0,0 corresponds to  minimum temperature (SCA → Lo) and 10,0 corresponds to maximum temperature (SCA → Hi).
Software version| The thermostat displays the software version.
Standard| The thermostat complies with EN 50559 (VDE 0705-559) for electrical floor heating.
This function is not applicable to other heating applications.
Temperature reading| The temperature reading defines which temperature is to be shown on the start display: the setpoint “SP” or the actual, measured temperature.

Descriptions

Control type Abbreviation Description
Floor F The thermostat controls only the floor temperature; requires a

connected floor sensor.
Room| A| The thermostat controls only the room temperature.
Limit| Li| Limit is an on/off function, in which the required limit is set in Limit low (”Li” → ”Lo”) after  selecting the “Li” option under “APp”.
Room/limit| AF| The thermostat controls the room temperature while respecting min. and max. limits for the floor
temperature; requires a connected floor sensor.
Regulator| C| The thermostat is used as a simple regulator without any sensor in use. The setting is defined in
percent (%).

1.6 Troubleshooting
Error codes
If a fault occurs, the thermostat will display one of the following error codes:

Error code Fault description Solution
E0 Internal fault Thermostat defective Replace the thermostat
E2 External floor sensor defective or short circuited (terminals 8-9)

Replace the sensor/sensor cable
To continue to operate the system without sensor, set the control type to “Regulator” under “Application”: APp → C regulator
E5| Internal overheating
Thermostat shuts off heating| Check the installations
Check that the heating cables are not overloaded or that ambient temperature is  excessive When the internal temperature drops, the thermostat automatically reactivates

Factory reset
The factory reset allows the factory settings to be restored, and all personal settings will be deleted from the thermostat.
Follow the below steps to reset the thermostat:

  1. Press and hold the centermost button (D) for 10 seconds
  2. The display is switched off and then on again
  3. The application is shown on the display: “APp → F”, followed by the temperature setting
