General Terms
Please Read and keep this manual for future reference.
This user manual is part of this Sun Awning with poles (hereinafter referred
to as “awning”). It contains important information on pitching and handling.
Read the instructions carefully, in particular the safety instructions, before
using the awning. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious
injury or damage to the awning.
The instructions for use are based on the standards and regulations valid in
the European Union. When abroad, also observe country-specific guidelines and
laws.
Keep these instructions for future use. If you pass the awning on to a third
party, be sure to include these instructions for use.
Safety
Intended use
This awning is designed as sun shade resp. rain cover for outdoor use only. It
is intended for private use only and is not suitable for commercial use.
Only use the awning as described in these instructions for use. Any other use
is considered improper and may result in property damage or even personal
injury. The awning is not a child’s toy.
The manufacturer or dealer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper
or incorrect use.
Safety instructions
CAUTION. RISK OF INJURY!
Make sure that all parts are not damaged and ensure they are properly
assembled. Improper assembly may result in injury. Damaged parts can affect
safety and function. You could trip over ground fixing pegs protruding from
the ground so always ensure they fixed correctly in the ground, also ensure
the guy ropes have an acceptable tension. Or there is a risk you could injure
yourself if you don’t follow the correct process.
- The sun awning protects you against direct exposure to the sun. Nevertheless, ensure that your skin is adequately protected from the sun.
- Do not leave the awning unattended during pitching, nor in assembled condition.
- Regularly check the condition of all parts and check guy ropes have the correct tension and the fixing pegs are flush into the ground. Pay attention to the position of the guy ropes near the awning to avoid tripping hazards.
- Be aware of other people when setting up the awning poles. Be careful during mounting and demounting with open pipe ends because there is a risk of injury.
- Keep the awning poles away from children.
- Do not use insect spray under the awning or on any area of the awning or its parts.
- An impregnation spray can be used for refreshing the awning’s capacity as rain cover.
- Water pockets must be emptied as they form!
Never assemble or disassemble the product in strong winds.
Pay attention to weather and weather influences
Dismantle the sun awning before heavy snowfall or expected wind speeds greater
than 40 km/h (fresh wind, larger branches and trees move and wind is clearly
audible).
WARNING!
Do not leave children unsupervised! The sail is not a climbing or playing device! Make sure that people, especially children, do not climb on the sail or lean on the poles. The sail could lose its balance and tip over. Injuries and/or damage may result.
WARNING! DANGER OF STRANGULATION!
If the guy ropes get into the hands of children, they could strangle
themselves.
- Always store the guy ropes out of the reach of children.
- Do not allow children to play with the guy ropes.
WARNING! RISK OF POISONING AND DAMAGE TO PROPERTY!
The awning is made of fire retardant material. Still it can catch fire. Do not
light a fire below the awning and keep it away from heat sources. Also
familiarize yourself with the fire safety regulations on site (e.g.
- Do not place electrical appliances (e.g. heaters) that are switched on near or below the awning.
- Do not use gas or other combustion appliances near or below the awning.
- Keep the awning away from open fires. Do not light a fire under the awning.
Important procedures in case of fire!
- Keep calm
- Report fire (emergency call 999)
- Get to safe place
- Warn other people in danger
- Follow marked escape routes from the campsite Go to assembly points
- Follow instructions
- Attempt to extinguish the fire
- Use fire-fighting equipment (e.g. fire blanket)
NOTE! RISK OF DAMAGE!
Incorrect erection of the awning, mishandling of the awning and use of the
awning in extreme weather conditions can cause damage to the awning.
- Pitch the awning on a dry, level surface that offers the possibility of securely fastening the awning pegs and guy ropes.
- Do not pitch the awning on sloping ground.
- Make sure you have enough space around the awning.
- Do not pitch the awning on sandy ground. There are no sufficient anchoring possibilities for the awning there.
- Make sure that the tensioning ropes are not pulled too tightly, as the awning canvas can tear if the tension is too much.
- Only use the awning in moderate weather conditions.
- Do not use the awning in mountainous or extreme conditions, e.g. hail, floods, storms, extreme cold or heat.
- Do not pitch the awning with the openings facing into the wind. Pitch the awning facing the wind direction so that the wind can blow over the awning from the back.
- In addition to the pegs, use the guy ropes to secure the awning to protect it from the wind.
- Do not place the sail with the sides against the wind direction.
- Make sure that the sun awning is placed so that it is in the lee of the wind.
- Take down the awning immediately in the event of a storm, thunderstorm or strong wind. It could become unstable and collapse even though it is was well anchored.
- Do not use the awning when it is snowing. The awning canvas is not designed for snow loads and can tear.
- Do not use the awning if the plastic parts of the awning or the awning itself are deformed, cracked, broken, chipped or otherwise damaged.
- Do not place any objects on the outer awning.
Checking the awnings contents on delivery
Be careful when opening
- Take the awning out of the packaging.
- Check whether the contents of the awning are complete.
- Check whether the awning or the individual parts show any damage. If this is the case, do not use the awning.

Setting up your awning
- Make sure that the awning is only assembled by a competent adult. Do not pitch the awning on sloping ground.
- Assemble the product according to figures 1 to 4.

Remove the awning (A) with poles (B), and pegs (C} from the pack sack.

Unfold the sail (A) onto the ground.

Assemble the poles (B) together.

Position the first pole at the middle of the awning.

Fix the loose ends of the guy straps, each with a peg.

Repeat step 4 & 5 on the opposite side.

Same way fix the guy ropes of the awning’s sides with the pegs in the ground.
SET-UP
DISMOUNTING
Dismounting the awning
Clean the inside and outside of the awning before dismounting it. Dismounting
the awning must be done in reverse order to the setup of the awning.
Packing the awning
Make sure the awning is completely dry before packing it up. Failure to do so
may result in stains and fabric damage.
CAUTION!
Make sure that you pack the pegs (C) separately in the pocket provided (E).
Otherwise the pegs could damage the awning.
- Collect all the parts together carefully before packing. Count each part to ensure no parts have been misplaced or lost.
- Fold the awning so it has the width of the carry bag.
- Roll up the awning together with the poles and pegs inside.
- Then carefully place the rolled-up awning in the bag provided.
Cleaning and care
NOTE!
Improper handling of the awning can lead to damage.
- Never wash the awning in a washing machine.
- Never use petrol, solvents or other aggressive cleaning agents, brushes with metal or nylon bristles or sharp or metallic cleaning objects such as knives, hard spatulas and the like. Otherwise there is a risk of damage to the product.
- Never have the awning dry cleaned.
- Remove dirt from the awning with a soft sponge and clean water.
- Allow all parts to dry thoroughly before repacking the awning. This prevents mould, odour and material discoloration.

Disposal
Dispose of the packaging according to your countries regulations. Put
cardboard and carton in the correct waste disposal bin and any foil in the
correct recyclables collection.
Dispose of any other discarded product in accordance with the laws and
regulations in force in your country.
