HINTS AND TIPS
What may cause less accurate temperature measurements

  1. Cups other than ikago Coffee Mug
The ikago Heat Coaster Pro are calibrated to the ikago Coffee Mugs. Therefore, an ikago Coffee Mug will provide the highest temperature measurement accuracy as well as thermal efficiency.

  2. Smoke, droplets, vapors, airflow, etc.
Small particles will block the probe window and airflow will affect heat dissipation, leading to less accurate temperature measurements.

What cups can I use?

  1. We recommend using the ikago coffee mug for the best experience. You can also use other pottery and some glass mugs. (Glasses with thick bottoms or have high IR emissivity, such as those made of quartz, cannot be recognized.)
  2. Metal cups are not recommended due to the risk of burning lips and slightly less accurate temperature measurements.
  3. Avoid double-wall insulated cups due to the low heat efficiency caused by insulation.
  4. For better heating efficiency, use thin cups with flat bottoms.
  5. Put a lid on your mug if you would like the beverage heated faster or up to 175 °F (80 °C). For optimal heating, mugs with bottom no more than 3.5 inches (9 cm) in diameter match the heating area perfectly. The coaster can fit cups with a bottom diameter of up to 4.4 inches (11.3 cm).
  • S Suitable Size ≤ 3.5 inches (9 cm)
  • M Maximum Size = 4.4 inches (11.3 cm)

Safe, smart, and energy-saving heating

  1. Only when detecting a mug in the heating area will the ikago Heat Coaster Pro start heating.
  2. The ikago Heat Coaster Pro will automatically shut down when the IR sensors detect no mug movement for 2 hours or no mug in the heating area for 15 minutes.
  3. The NTC temperature control system plus the aerogel insulation double layer protect against overheating.
