Thank you for purchasing the Nyko Power Pak'” external battery for Steam Deck'”. We hope this purchase allows you to stretch your gaming sessions by an hour or more when you are unable to recharge your console via AC power. Keep in mind the Steam Deck is a power hungry beast so your battery life will depend on which settings you are using in your games. To optimize battery life it is recommended you adjust game settings such as frame rate, refresh rate, screen brightness, and graphic quality settings.

Checking Your Power Pak™ Charging Status

Track battery power at a glance with the integrated four-light LED status indicator. Press the power/charge-status button on your Power Pak and the LEDs will indicate its charge level. Four LEDs means the Power Pak battery is fully charged, while one LED means it’s almost empty.

Before Using Your Power Pak™

IMPORTANT : Before using your Power Pak battery for the first time, fully charge it (so that pressing the power/charge status button lights all 4 status LEDs). Connect your official Steam Deck power supply to the Power Pak to begin charging.

Important Safety Instructions

  • Read all the instructions before using the product
  • To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when the product is used near children
  • Do not disassemble the Power Pak. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of fire or injury to persons.
  • The maximum operating temperature is 0° to 60° C.
  • Do not expose Power Pak to rain or snow.
  • Do not use a Power Pak that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
  • We recommend using a 45W PD (Power Delivery) charger (not included) to charge the Power Pak'”.
  • Do not charge the Power Pak'” while it is plugged into the Steam Deck'”.
  • Overheating Protection – If all four LEDs on the Power Pak'” are quickly flashing, it is to indicate the battery has temporarily stopped charging to prevent overheating.
  • Do not expose Power Pak to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature over 100·c (212°F) may cause explosion
  • Use of a power supply not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

Power Pak™ Usage

  1. Align the ports on the Power Pak to the center holes on top of the Steam Deck'”.
  2. Push the bottom clamp against the body of the Steam Deck'” until it opens up and grips onto the bottom of the console.
  3. Insert the USB-C cable from the Power Pak into the Steam Deck'”.
  4. The Power Pak will turn on and begin charging your Steam Deck'”.
  5. The Power Pak will turn off when unplugged from the Steam Deck'”.
  6. You can also turn off the Power Pak by holding down the power/charge status button for 3 seconds.
    NOTICE : Power Pak does not support high-power charging cables with Emarker chips. When using the Power Pak it is normal that the Steam Deck dashboard will show incorrect and fluctuating estimated charging times. This will vary depending on the power demands of the game you are playing.

Power Pak normal operating temperature is between 0~60°C. Overheating protection will engage if the temperature rises above 60°C and LEDs will blink quickly. Power Pak will resume charging when the temperature drops below 55°C. Over-currrent protection will engage when the current exceeds the maximum current of 0.5A and battery will stop discharging. Short circuit protection will engage if the output positive and negative terminals are short circuited; the battery will start protection and stop discharge.

In addition to and without limiting the generality of the foregoing disclaimers, the limited warranty does not, under any circumstances, cover the replacement or cost of any electronic device or personal property inside or outside of the Nyko product.
