M9 Steam Sterilizer
Product Information
The user manual provides instructions for installing the Data Logger on Midmark sterilizers. The Data Logger is compatible with the following models: (-033 /-034) (-040 /-041 /-042 /-043) M11D (-020 /-022). The installation process involves removing the cover plate, identifying the sterilizer model, verifying software version, installing the harness (for -02X/-03X models only), connecting wires to the Data Logger, installing the Data Logger, and obtaining an Unlock Code.
Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Unplug Sterilizer.
- Unplug power cord from wall outlet or power inlet on back of the sterilizer.

Step 2: Remove Cover Plate.
- Remove Cover Plate from top right of the sterilizer. Remove any double-sided tape remaining on the sterilizer.

Step 3: Identify Sterilizer Model.
- Use images to identify model of sterilizer where Data Logger will be installed before completing following steps. If you have an -04X model sterilizer, proceed to step 5.
- The -02X, model sterilizers must have version 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 operating software for the Data Logger to be compatible. Please confirm your sterilizer has compatible software. If your sterilizer has different operating software, contact your Midmark representative for options.

Step 4: Verify Software Version. (-02X models only)
- To determine the software version of your -02X model sterilizer, cycle the power on the unit. The software version will be displayed during the start-up cycle.

Step 5: Install Harness. (-02X/-03X models only)
- Remove right side cover. Remove existing harness if present. Install new harness by routing black connector of harness down through hole in top cover. Attach black connector to top of main PC board. Install right side cover.

Step 6: Connect wires to Data Logger.
- Locate wires in the sterilizer cavity and connect them to the Data Logger.

Step 7: Remove film from tape.
- Remove film from double-sided tape. Thoroughly clean top cover of sterilizer where Data Logger adheres.

Step 8: Install Data Logger.
- Line up back edge of Data Logger into back edge of sterilizer cavity. Make sure the wires do not interfere with placing the Data
Logger and rotate front edge of Data Logger down into place. Press down firmly on the Data Logger to secure.

Step 9: Plug in Sterilizer and Record SN’s.
- Plug power cord into wall outlet and power inlet on sterilizer back. Record serial numbers of sterilizer and Data Logger.

Step 10: Obtain Unlock Code.
- Access the Data Logger Registration web page at the on-line address above. Complete the Data Logger registration form on the web page to obtain an Unlock Code for the Data Logger that will be sent to you by e-mail. Once you have the Unlock Code, you can choose to continue the Data Logger set-up using either a manual or on-line method.

Step 1: Unplug Sterilizer.
Unplug power cord from wall outlet or power inlet on back of the sterilizer.
Step 2: Remove Cover Plate.
Remove Cover Plate from top right of the sterilizer. Remove any double-sided
tape remaining on the sterilizer.
WARNING
To prevent risk of shock always disconnect power before removing covers or
performing any service procedure.
Step 3: Identify Sterilizer Model.
Use images to identify model of sterilizer where Data Logger will be installed
before completing following steps. If you have an -04X model sterilizer,
proceed to step 5.
Step 4: Verify Software Version.(-02X models only)
To determine the software version of your -02X model sterilizer, cycle the
power on the unit. The software version will be displayed during the start up
cycle.

NOTE: Thoroughly clean top cover of sterilizer where Data Logger adheres.
Step 8: Install Data Logger.
Line up back edge of Data Logger into back edge of sterilizer cavity. Make
sure the wires do not interfere with placing the Data Logger and rotate front
edge of Data Logger down into place. Press down firmly on the Data Logger to
secure.
Step 9: Plug in Sterilizer and Record SN’s.
Plug power cord into wall outlet and power inlet on sterilizer back. Record
serial numbers of sterilizer and Data Logger.
Step 10: Obtain Unlock Code.
Access the Data Logger Registration web page at the on-line address above.
Complete the Data Logger registration form on the web page to obtain an Unlock
Code for the Data Logger that will be sent to you by e-mail. Once you have the
Unlock Code, you can choose to continue the Data Logger set-up using either a
manual or on-line method.
Online Method Step 1: Setup.
Remove the USB device from the Data Logger. Transfer the USB device to an
internet enabled computer. Navigate to https://midmark.com/data-logger-
configuration using the computer. Complete the form on the page. Once the
form is completed, a file named “config.ini” will be downloaded onto the
computer. Locate the file in the computer’s “Downloads” folder. Save this file
to the Data Logger’s USB device installed on the computer. Make sure the
“config.ini” file has been successfully copied to the USB device. Do not
rename the file. Consult with an appropriate IT professional for support with
downloading the config.ini file if required.
Online Method Step 2: Data Logger Setup.
Once you have obtained the Unlock Code. Use the Data Logger Touchpad to press
ENTER ( ). Then select the Online method of setting up the Data Logger.
Online Method Step 3: Install Files.
Reinstall the USB device containing the downloaded “config.ini” file into Data
Logger and close cover. Wait for the “config.ini” file to automatically
install on the Data Logger.
Online Method Step 4: Press Enter ( ).
Press ENTER ( ) to proceed with normal operation. If an error occurs press
ENTER ( ****) and restart the online method.
Online Method Step 5: Set Date/Time.
Sterilizer models -02X and -03X require navigating to the SET DATE/TIME menus
and entering Date and Time parameters. Refer to user guide for details.
Navigating Setup Menus
- PLUS, MINUS changes characters.
- Press and hold to scroll through available characters when entering data.
- NEXT advances to next field.
- DONE advances to next menu when entering data is complete.
- BACK deletes the previous character/returns to the previous menu.
Blank Spaces
The blank space character is located between A and 9 when scrolling through
characters on the screen.
Pressing ENTER ( )
DO NOT press ENTER ( ****) in any of the following steps until you have
finished entering all information for that step. Refer to the User Guide for
details on updating incomplete entries.
Manual Method Step 1 Data Logger Setup.
Once you have obtained the Unlock Code. Use the Data Logger Touchpad to press
ENTER ( ****). Then select the Manual method of setting up the Data Logger.
Manual Method Step 2: Enter Unlock Code.
Using the Data Logger Touchpad, enter the Unlock Code obtained in Step 9.
Manual Method Step 3: Code Acceptance.
Press ENTER ( ****) when the Unlock Code entry is accepted. If an error
occurs, press BACK and return to the main menu.
Manual Method Step 4: Enter Serial Number.
Enter sterilizer serial number by using PLUS, MINUS, NEXT/DONE and BACK
buttons. Serial Number can be up to 9 characters. If Serial Number is shorter
than 9 characters navigate to the blank space (between A and 9) and press
NEXT/DONE, or press ENTER ( ****) after the last character is entered.
Manual Method Step 5: Set Sterilizer Name.
Press YES to name the sterilizer. Enter sterilizer name by using PLUS, MINUS,
NEXT/DONE and BACK buttons. Or press NO to proceed to SETUP USER menu.
Manual Method Step 6: Setup Users.
From 1 to 12 users (designated U01-U12) can be set up in the Data Logger. Use
PLUS, MINUS to scroll through the user identifiers and select them for set up.
Manual Method Step 7: Setup User Name.
Enter a unique 1 to 3 character identifier for each user of the sterilizer.
When all users have been entered and identified, select “No” when prompted to
set up another user.
Manual Method Step 8: Setup Complete.
Press ENTER ( ) to complete setup. Main menu will appear with either
sterilizer name if you entered one, or MIDMARK will appear as default. -04X
models will not show Date/Time on Data Logger.
Manual Method Step 9: Set Date/Time.
Sterilizer Models -02X and -03X require navigating to the Additional Menus and
setting up the Date / Time parameters. Refer to user guide for details.
