Introduction

When using your kettle, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  1. Before making use of this kettle make sure you have read all instructions carefully and thoroughly.
  2. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  3. Before connecting the kettle, check whether the voltage indicated on the appliance (underside of kettle and base unit) corresponds with the mains voltage in your home. If this is not the case, contact your dealer and do not use the kettle.
  4. Switch off and unplug from the outlet before filling, emptying, cleaning, or when not in use.
  5. Do not overfill above the maximum level indication mark, as boiling water may be ejected. Fill with cold water only.
  6. To prevent any risk of fire, do not operate this unit in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes, or materials, or near gas and electric burners or inside heated ovens.
  7. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or a counter. Do not let the cord touch any hot surface.
  8. Never yank on the cord as this may damage the cord and leading to a risk of electric shock.
  9. If the cord or plug is damaged, or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any way, return the appliance to your nearest authorized service agent for examination, repair, or adjustment.
  10. Avoid touching the surface of the hot kettle, always use the handle and knobs.
  11. To avoid possible steam damage, avoid facing directly the spout while operating the kettle.
  12. If operated on wood furniture, use a protective pad to prevent damage on delicate finishes.
  13. To avoid scalding, always ensure the lid is firmly closed before operation.
  14. Scalding may occur if the lid is opened while boiling water.
  15. Always handle the lid carefully when the unit is hot.
  16. Extreme caution must be used when moving the kettle containing hot water. Never lift the kettle by its lid. Always use the body handle.
  17. Do not switch the kettle on if it is empty.
  18. To prevent any electrical hazard, do not immerse this kettle, power base or cord set in any liquid.
  19. Use this kettle only along with the supplied base unit. Do not use the base unit for other purposes.
  20. To prevent the risk of fire, do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable materials.
  21. During the boiling of water, or in the short time after the water boils, do not attempt to open the lid, as the steam might scald your hand.
  22. Prevent any liquid from sprinkling the LCD board, or having any key pressed during the operating process, so as to avoid the risk of water plunging the product and leading to abnormal operation.
  23. Never exceed the maximum water volume the water, as there exists a risk of damaging the kettle.
  24. Perform descaling of the kettle on a regular basis so as to maintain optimal operation of your kettle.
  25. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  26. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Keep the appliance and the cord out of reached by children aged less than 8 years.
  27. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

FIRST USE PREPARATION
  1. Before first use, fill the kettle with clean and cold water to its maximum capacity and boil. Discard the water and repeat this process.

  2. The kettle should always be unplugged when filling or adding water.

  3. Fill the kettle with water to the desired level. Do not overfill or there will be a risk of spillage or spitting. The water level indicator will assist you to measure the correct amount. You can fill the kettle via the spout or by opening the lid. Do not forget to close the lid after filling, otherwise the kettle will not automatically switch off once the water has started boiling.

  4. Do not fill with less than 0.5 liters of water (to “min” indication) to prevent the kettle from running dry while operating.

  5. Do not fill with more than 1.7 liters of water (to “max” indication).

  6. An automatic safety cut-out has been fitted for protection against overheating, and will operate if the kettle is switched on while containing insufficient water. Always ensure the water inside the kettle covers the minimum mark on the water level indicator gauge. If the automatic safety cut-out has operated, switch the kettle off, disconnect from the power supply and allow the kettle to cool down for 5 to 10 minutes. Then refill with cold water and switch on and the kettle will operate as normal.

  7. Once the water has started boiling, the kettle switches off automatically.
    a. Disconnect the kettle from the mains electricity supply.
    b. Do not open the lid when pouring.
    c. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
    d. The kettle is only to be used with the provided stand base.

  8. This appliance is intended to be used for household purposes only.

BASIC OPERATION
  • Place the base unit on a dry, smooth and horizontal surface, insert the plug to the socket. Once the kettle is attached on the base, the power puts through automatically.
  • Press the “ ” key shortly, a “Di…” sound shall be heard and the unit will start operating.
  • Once the water has boiled, the indicator shall turns off and the buzzer will send out a group “di-di-di” sounds.
ADVANCED OPERATION
  • Press “ ” for 3 seconds, the buzzer will start to send out “di” sound. The function of heat insulation will commence. The LED light will be shinning in red color, while after the water has boiled, the kettle will maintain the water temperature for 2 hours with the indicator light shinning. During these 2 hours the kettle will automatically start operating once the water temperature drops at 85℃
  • Press “ ” once, and the indicator light of 60℃ will shine, and the LED light will shine in green color. This means that the kettle will stop heating when the water temperature reaches 60℃.
  • Press “ ” twice, and the indicator light of 70℃ will shine, and the LED light will shine in blue color. This means that the kettle will stop heating when the water temperature reaches 70℃.
  • Press “ ” for 3 times, and the indicator light of 80℃ will shine, and the LED light will shine in yellow color. This means that the kettle will stop heating when the water temperature reaches 80℃
  • Press “ ” for 4 times, and the indicator light of 90℃ will shine, and the LED light will shine in purple color. This means that the kettle will stop heating when the water temperature reaches 90℃
60°C Single Push indicator shown: 60°C Lighting: GREEN
70°C Double Push indicator shown: 70°C lighting: BLUE
80°C Triple push indicator shown: 80°C lighting: YELLOW
9D°C Quadruple push indicator shown: 90°C Lighting: Purple

IMPORTANT: Once you have finished using your kettle, disconnect from the power supply.

MAINTAINANCE INSTRUCTIONS
  • Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Remove persistent spots with a cloth moistened with mild liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or powders.
  • Never immerse the kettle in water or other liquids.
  • From time to time, depending on the hardness of your water supply, a boiled scale deposit is naturally formed and can be found mostly adhered to the heating element, thus reducing the heating efficiency.
  • The amount of boiled scale deposited (and subsequently the need to clean or rescale) largely depends on the water hardness in your area as well as on the frequency with which the kettle is being used.
  • Boiled scale is not harmful to your health. But if poured into your beverage, it can give a powdery taste. Therefore, the kettle should be descaled periodically as indicated below.

DESCALING: Descale your kettle regularly.

  • Fill the kettle up to “max” with a mixture of one part ordinary vinegar and two parts water. Switch on and wait for the appliance to switch off automatically.
  • Let the mixture remain inside the kettle over-night.
  • Discard the mixture on the next morning.
  • Fill the kettle with clean water up to “max” mark and boil again.
  • Discard the boiled water to remove any remaining scale and vinegar.
  • Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.
