  • Before connecting the cable, read the information in the ,,Technical data” section.
  • Always observe the safety information and operating instructions of the connected vehicle.
  • Should you have any questions or concerns after reading this document, please contact our technical support or a professional technician.
5.2 Handling
  • Handle the product carefully. Impact, shocks or a fall from a height of more than 1 metre can damage the product.
  • Always perform a visual inspection before use. In particular, check for dirt and damage on the charging plugs, the cable and the control box.
  • Make sure that the cable is not pinched, bent, twisted, rubbed against sharp edges or otherwise subjected to mechanical strain. Avoid thermal stress on the cable. In particular, keep the cable away from heat sources (such as ovens, radiators and fireplaces).
  • Do not pull the plug out of the EV input and the outlet when it is under load.
  • Always use the grips on the plugs to disconnect the plugs from the sockets. Never remove the plug from the socket by pulling on the cable.
  • Do not pull on the charging plug with force. This may produce dangerous arcs, which can result in death or serious injury.
  • Do not allow foreign objects (especially metal objects) to fall into the charger plug or the connection pins.
  • DO NOT insert fingers or other body parts or objects into the charger plug.
  • Ensure that the plug is fully inserted and engaged.
  • To protect the charging connection from humidity and dirt, replace the protective caps after each use.
5.3 Operating environment
  • Do not expose the product to any mechanical stress.
  • Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, vapours, and solvents.
  • Protect the product from direct sunlight.
  • If it rains while the vehicle is charging, make sure that water does not penetrate the outlet or the Vehicle charging socket. If the plugs have become wet, remove the mains fuse before you pull the plugs out of the sockets, or if this is not possible, first unplug the plug from the socket and then from the Vehicle charging socket.
  • Do not use the charging cable outside its normal operating range of -30 to +50°C.
  • To avoid injury, children or people with reduced mental capacity are strictly prohibited from approaching the charging station.
  • Forced charging is strictly prohibited if the electric vehicle or charging station malfunctions.
5.4 Operation
  • Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the device.

  • Use the product in protected outdoor areas. Keep it away from moisture, liquids and direct sunlight.

  • Before connecting the cable, read the information in the technical data section and these operating instructions.

  • Always observe the safety information and operating instructions of the connected vehicle.

  • If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorised use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
    - Is visibly damaged,
    - is no longer working properly,
    – has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions, or
    – has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.

  • The IP54 protection rating is only guaranteed if the vehicle connection also has a protection rating of at least IP54.

  • When two accessories are inserted into a vehicle connection with a protection rating of less than IP54, the lower protection level of the two accessories will apply.

5.5 Mains voltage

Never attempt to modify the electrical components of the product. Risk of fatal electric shock!

  • Always ensure that the mains plug is properly connected.
  • Discontinue use of the device if any electrical components are damaged.
  • Do not modify the electrical components.
  • Only connect the product to a normal mains socket connected to the public supply network. Before plugging in the product, check whether the voltage stated on the product complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
  • Only connect to fully functioning and suitable infrastructure (16 A mains socket). If in doubt, consult a specialist. Make sure that the fuse is not overloaded and that no other loads are connected to this fuse.
  • We recommend that you consult an approved electrician to check if your electrical outlet/ circuit is suitable. Older cabling or heavily ,,loaded” circuits can cause problems, as vehicle chargers are high-performance devices rated at up to 16 A / 3.6 kW.
  • Connect the product to an easily accessible socket.
  • Never connect or disconnect the product if your hands are wet.
  • Do not touch the product if there are any signs of damage, as this may cause a fatal electric shock! Proceed as follows:
    - First, cut off the power supply to the mains socket to which the product is connected (switch off the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, and then switch off the FI safety switch so that all poles of the mains socket are disconnected).

6 Getting started

Please note that the charging cable has two ends. The plug connects to the charging station, while the socket connects to the electric vehicle.

| Carefully read the instructions for the charging cable and the vehicle.

6.1 Starting charging
  • Stop the vehicle engine and set the gear lever to park.
  • Insert the Type 2 plug firmly into the socket at a suitable charging station (AC EVSE socket).
  • Plug the Type 2 socket into the electrical socket on the electric vehicle.
  • Lock your electric vehicle. The charging station (EVSE) will charge the vehicle.

| May vary depending on the vehicle.

6.2 Stopping charging

| Do not disconnect the plugs/connectors while the vehicle is charging.

  • Unplug the Type 2 plug from the charging station (AC EVSE socket) to interrupt the power supply.
  • Remove the Type 2 socket from the vehicle.
  • Place the protective caps on the plugs/connectors and roll up the cable without bending it.
  • Pack the EV charging cable and store it in a suitable location.
7 Troubleshooting
7.1 The pins do not lock into place:

When inserting the cable, apply plenty of pressure until the pins are properly connected to the EVSE or the electric vehicle.

7.2 The vehicle is not locked:

To start the charging process, the vehicle must be locked and switched off.
| May vary depending on the vehicle.

8 Cleaning and care

This product does not require any maintenance. Never attempt to dismantle it. Disconnect the product from the mains supply before cleaning. Dust in the connector can easily be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these could damage the casing, impair operation or cause discolouration. To prevent scratch marks, do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning. Use a damp cloth to clean the cable.

  • Remove the product from the mains and the connected load before cleaning.
  • Do not immerse the product in water.
