CONTACT GRILL
INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Thank You for purchasing a CENTEK brand product.
We guarantee flawless function of this item, provided the guidelines of its operation are observed.

PURPOSE OF THE APPLIANCE: for cooking food by heating.
This device is intended for use in domestic and similar conditions, in particular:

  • in kitchen areas for staff in shops, offices and other industrial conditions;
  • on agricultural farms;
  • clients in hotels, motels and other residential infrastructure;
  • in private boarding houses.
1. SECURITY MEASURES

In order to avoid situations that are dangerous to life and health, as well as premature failure of the device, it is necessary to strictly observe the following conditions:

  1. Before connecting to the mains, make sure that the operating voltage of the device corresponds to the voltage in the electrical network.
  2. To avoid the risk of fire, do not use adapters when connecting the appliance to an electrical outlet.
  3. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  4. Never leave the appliance running unattended.
  5. Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface so that access to the electrical outlet is free.
  6. Use the appliance in places with good ventilation. In order to avoid fire, do not place the appliance near curtains or curtains and do not cover it during operation.
  7. Beware of steam escaping from the gaps between the working forms, be careful, in order to avoid burns, do not bring your hands and do not place other open areas of the body close to the edges of the working forms.
  8. The surface of the heating element remains hot after the device is shut down.
  9. Never remove products from the appliance with sharp objects, as they may damage the non-stick coating of the working molds.
  10. The device is not designed to operate from an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  11. Do not move the appliance until it has completely cooled down.
  12. Disconnect the appliance from the mains every time before cleaning, and also if you do not use it.
  13. Do not allow the power cord to hang from the table, as well as its contact with hot surfaces or sharp edges of kitchen furniture.
  14. When disconnecting the plug of the power cord from the electrical outlet, do not pull the cord, but hold on to the plug with your hand.
  15. Do not touch the plug of the power cord with wet hands.
  16. Do not use the appliance in the immediate vicinity of the kitchen sink, do not expose it to moisture.
  17. If the power cord or any other part of the device is damaged, immediately disconnect the device from the electrical network and contact the manufacturer’s service center. In case of unskilled interference with the device device or non-compliance with the rules of operation of the device listed in this manual, the warranty is canceled.
  18. Special conditions for transportation (transportation), sale: no.
  19. The device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of life experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed to use the device by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to prevent playing with the appliance.
  20. Do not allow children to play with plastic bags or packaging film. Danger of suffocation!
  21. It is forbidden to use the device if the mains plug or electrical cord is damaged, if it works intermittently, as well as after it falls. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
  22. For all repair questions, please contact an authorized (authorized) service center.
  23. Use the appliance only with the proper connector.
  24. If you wish to transfer the device to another person for use, please transfer it together with this instruction.

4. WORKING PROCEDURE

CONTROL PANEL FUNCTION

  1. Plug in the appliance, POWER lamp (17) will be ON, , the two LED display displays (19 and 20) will light up.
  2. Press ON/OFF button (10), the device will work, the «Heating» (18) lamp will be ON, the LED display (20) shows the value 220. You can press the «Temperature» button (11) to adjust the temperature, press «>» (13) to add temperature and press «<» (12) to decrease the temperature. The temperature can be set in the range of 120-230 degrees. After setting, press «Temperature» (11) again to start cooking.
  3. Press the Timer button (14) to set the cooking time. Press «>» (16) to add time, and press «<» (15) to decrease time. If you do not need the timer function,
    press the timer (14) for a long time to close the function. The LED display (19) will display —. If you need a timer again, please press «Timer» (14) again, set the timer from 1 minute to 30 minutes.

PREPARATION FOR WORK
Before using the device for the first time, make a test start by setting the maximum temperature. When using the device for the first time, the heating elements burn, and a small amount of smoke or foreign odor may appear. This is acceptable and is not a defect.

THE COOKING PROCESS
– Place the device on a flat, stable surface.
– Make sure that the oil collection tray is installed.
– Make sure that the correct plates are installed.
– Close the grill lid and connect it to the mains.
– The «Power» indicator (17) will light up and the plates will start heating.
– Use the temperature control buttons to set the average value (You may later adjust it lower or higher according to your preference). The green light «Heating» (18) will light up, indicating that the grill has started preheating.
– It will take 3 to 5 minutes to reach the set temperature.
– As soon as the appliance reaches the set temperature, the «Heating» indicator (18) turns off, you can start cooking.
– Open the grill lid with the handle (8) and place the products on the lower roasting surface. Close the lid. Thanks to the hinged fastening, the upper lid evenly presses down the products regardless of their thickness.
– Set the grill temperature controller to the desired setting. At first, try to set the maximum value. Later you can reduce or increase it according to your preferences.
– The cooking time depends on individual preferences.
– When using the appliance as a toaster for sandwiches, sandwiches, bread, quesadillas, select the average temperature level.
– Prepare the products according to the instructions and place them on the bottom cooking plate.
– Close the top panel with a floating hinge designed for uniform pressure on the products. The upper panel should be completely lowered so that the grill marks remain on the selected products.
– When cooking several products on a contact grill, it is important that the thickness of the products is the same so that the lid evenly covers the products.
– Cooking fatty foods (such as ribs) on the grill plates, in combination with a fat spout in the corner of the plate, allows the fat to drain from the meat and drain from the plates into the oil pan.
– After the food is cooked, grasp the handle (8) and lift the upper work surface.
– Transfer the cooked foods to suitable dishes using wooden or heat-resistant plastic kitchen accessories.
– After you finish working with the grill, turn it off by pressing the «On/Off» button (10), remove the plug of the power cord from the outlet.
– Wait for the work surfaces to cool completely. Remove the remaining vegetable oil from the work surfaces with a paper napkin.

OPEN FRYING SURFACE
– Place Grill Toaster on a clean flat surface where you intend to cook. The Grill Toaster can be positioned in flat position.
– Upper plate/cover is level with lower plate/base. The upper and lower plates line up to create one large cooking surface. The Grill Toaster to this position, locate the hinge release lever on the right arm.
– With you left hand on the handle, use your right hand to slide the lever toward you. Push the handle back until the cover rests flat on the counter. The unit will stay in this position until you lift the handle and cover to return it to the closed position.
– Cooking on the open grill is the most versatile method of using the Grill Toaster. In the open position, you have double the surface area for grill.

ATTENTION! Do not touch the appliance body with unprotected hands during cooking. Wear heat-resistant kitchen mittens.

RECOMMENDATIONS
– Do not use the grill for defrosting and cooking frozen foods.
– Do not cook pieces of meat on large bones.
– The duration of cooking depends on the products used. Before eating, make sure that the products are completely fried.
– If you notice that the products have started to burn, reduce the temperature or add more oil to the work surfaces.
– It is forbidden to remove cooked foods using sharp metal objects that can damage the non-stick coating of work surfaces. Always use plastic or wooden accessories designed for non-stick cookware.
– The recommended thickness of the steak is at least 4 cm. The pre-thawed steak must be removed from the refrigerator at least an hour before the start of roasting so that it takes the ambient temperature.

REMOVE COOKING PLATES
– Always unplug the Grill Toaster and allow it to cool before removing cooking plates.
– Open the Grill Toaster or adjust Grill Toaster to flat position.
– Locate the plate release buttons on front of the unit firmly Squeeze on button and the plate will pop up slightly from the base. Grasp the plate with two hands, slide it out from under the metal brackets, and lift it out of the bas. Press on the other plate release button to remove the other cooking plate in the sane manner.

5. CARE OF THE DEVICE
  • Clean the grill after each use. With regular cleaning of the appliance, the non-stick coating of the plates will last a long time.
  • Unplug the appliance and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Fully open the work surfaces and allow the appliance to cool down to room temperature.
  • Remove the remaining products with a scraper, wipe the work surfaces with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
  • Pull out the oil collection tray, drain the fat, rinse the tray with warm water with a neutral detergent, then dry it thoroughly.
  • Wipe the grill body with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive detergents, solvents or metal washcloths to clean the work surfaces and the outer surface of the grill, as they can damage the non-stick or outer surface of the grill.
  • Never immerse the appliance, the power cord and the plug of the power cord in water!
  • Be sure to clean the appliance before putting it away for storage.
  • Wind up the power cord.
  • Keep the appliance in a cool, dry place out of the reach of children.

7. DISPOSAL OF THE DEVICE

Upon expiry of its service life the appliance can be disposed of separately from ordinary domestic waste. You can turn it over to a specialized electric and electronic appliance disposal and recycling centre.

8. CERTIFICATION DATA, GUARANTEE

The service life of this item is 5 years since the date of sale to the end user, provided the item will be used in strict accordance with the present manual and the applicable technical standards. Upon expiry of the service life please contact the nearest authorized service centre for suggestions as to further operation of the appliance. The manufacturing date of the appliance is integrated into the serial number (digits 2 and 3 – year, digits 4 and 5 – month of manufacture). If any questions related to appliance maintenance should arise, or if the appliance has malfunctions, apply to the CENTEK TM Authorized Service Center. DEAR CONSUMER!
The guarantee period for all appliances amounts to 12 months from the date of sale to the end consumer. With this Warranty Card the Manufacturer confirms the proper condition of the appliance and undertakes to repair, free of charge, all defects caused by the Manufacturer’s default.

GUARANTEE MAINTENANCE TERMS

  1. The guarantee shall be valid if the following documentation conditions are observed:
    • The original Warranty Card shall be filled out correctly and clearly, indicating the of appliance model, serial number and sale date, the stamp of the seller company and signature of its representative shall be available, as well as the stamps on each coupon and the buyer’s signature in the Warranty Card.
    The Manufacturer reserves the right to reject guarantee maintenance if the buyer fails to provide the abovementioned documents or if the information contained therein is incomplete, illegible or ambiguous.

  2. The guarantee shall be valid if the following operation conditions are observed:
    • the appliance is used in strict accordance with the present manual;
    • the safety rules and requirements are observed.

  3. The guarantee does not apply to regular maintenance, cleaning, installation and setup of the appliance at the owner’s location.

  4. The guarantee does not apply in the following cases:
    • mechanical damage;
    • normal wear of the appliance;
    • non-observance of operation requirements or erroneous actions on the part of the user;
    • improper installation or transportation;
    • natural disasters (lightning, fire, flood, etc.), as well as any other causes beyond the Manufacturer’s or Seller’s control;
    • ingress of foreign objects, liquids or insects into the inside of the appliance;
    • repairs or modifications to the appliance by unauthorized persons;
    • use of the appliance for commercial purposes (loads exceeding normal domestic application), connection of the appliance to utility and telecommunication networks incompliant with national technical standards;
    • failure of the following accessories, if replacement of these is allowed by design and does not involve disassembly of the appliance:
    a. remote control units, rechargeable batteries, replaceable batteries (power cells), external power supply units and chargers;
    b. consumables and accessories (packaging, covers, slings, carry bags, mesh screens, blades, flasks, plates, supports, grilles, spits, hoses, tubes, brushes, nozzles, dust collectors, filters, smell absorbers);
    • for battery-powered appliances -­ operation with inappropriate or depleted batteries;
    • for rechargeable battery-powered appliances ­ any damage caused by improper battery charging and recharging.

  5. The present guarantee is provided by the Manufacturer in addition to the consumer rights determined by the applicable legislation and does not limit these rights in any way.

  6. The Manufacturer shall not be made liable for possible damage, directly or indirectly inflicted by CENTEK brand products on people, domestic animals, the consumer’s or third persons’ property if such damage is inflicted as the result of non-observance of appliance installation and operation requirements, deliberate or negligent actions (omission) by the consumer or third persons, as well as of force majeure circumstances.

  7. Service centers will only accept appliances in a clean state (there should be no food residues, dust and other contamination on the appliance).
    The Manufacturer reserves the right to change the design and specifications of the appliance without prior notice.
