Product Information

The Digital Multimeter (Multimetro Digital) is a model QAD-90011 device that measures voltage, current, and resistance. It is designed for indoor use only and should be stored in a dry and safe place. The device comes with test leads that should be used with caution to avoid electric shock or personal injury.

The device has a rotary switch that should be placed in the right position and no modification of range shall be made while testing is being conducted to prevent damage of the Meter. The device should not be used or stored in an environment with high temperature, humidity, or near explosions, open flames, or strong magnetic fields.

The device requires a battery to operate, and the battery should be replaced as soon as the battery indicator signals it. The device should be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild detergent to protect it from corrosion, damage, or any accidents.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Inspect the Meter’s case before using it, do not use the Meter if it is damaged or the case (or part of the case) is missing. Look for cracks or missing plastic. Check the insulation around the connectors.
  2. Inspect the test leads for damaged insulation or exposed metal. Check the test leads for continuity.
  3. Do not apply more than the rated voltage, as marked on the Meter, between the terminals or between any terminal and grounding.
  4. The rotary switch should be placed in the right position and no modification of range shall be made while testing is being conducted to prevent damage of the Meter.
  5. When the Meter is working at an effective voltage over 60V in DC or 30V rms in AC, special care should be taken, as this poses a danger of electric shock.
  6. Use the proper terminals, function, and range for your testing.
  7. Do not use or store the Meter in an environment with high temperature, humidity, or near explosions, open flames or strong magnetic fields. The performance of the Meter may deteriorate after dampened.
  8. When using the test leads, keep your fingers behind the finger guards.
  9. Disconnect circuit power and discharge all high-voltage capacitors before testing resistance, continuity, diodes or hFE.
  10. Replace the battery as soon as the battery indicator signals it. With a low battery, the Meter might produce false readings that can lead to electric shock and personal injury.
  11. Break off the connection between the testing leads and the circuit being tested, and turn the Meter power off before opening the Meter’s case.
  12. When servicing the Meter, use only the same model number or replacement parts with identical electrical specifications.
  13. Do not alter the internal circuit of the Meter at will to avoid damage to the Meter or any accidents.

By following these instructions, you can ensure safe and effective usage of the Digital Multimeter (Multimetro Digital).

  • Do not alter the internal circuit of the Meter at will to avoid damage to the Meter or any accidents.

  • Soft cloth and mild detergent should be used to clean the surface of the Meter when servicing. To protect the Meter from corrosion, damage or any accidents do not use any abrasives or solvents on its surface.

  • The Meter is suitable for indoor use.

  • Turn the Meter power off when not in use and take the battery out and store when it won’t be used for a long time. Constantly check the battery for leakage when it has been used for a long time, and replace it if any leaking appears. A leaking battery will damage the Meter.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS DC & AC VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT

  1. Connect red test lead to “VΩmA” jack, Black lead to
    “COM” jack.

  2. Set RANGE switch to desired VOLTAGE position, if the voltage to be measured is not known beforehand, set switch to the highest
range and reduce it until a satisfactory reading is obtained.

  3. Connect test leads to device or circuit being measured.

  4. Turn the circuit or device that’s being powered’s power on, its voltage value will appear on the Digital Display along with the voltage polarity.

DC CURRENT MEASUREMENT

  1. Red lead to “VΩmA”. Black lead to “COM” (for measurements between 200mA and 10A connect the red lead to “10A” inserting it completely into the jack).
  2. Set RANGE switch to desired DCA position.
  3. Connect the test leads IN SERIES to the device or circuit being measured’s load.
  4. Read current value on Digital Display.
  5. Additionally, the 10A setting is designed for intermittent use only. Maximum contact time of the testing leads with the circuit is 15 seconds, with a minimum wait time of 15 minutes between tests.

RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT

  1. Red lead to “VΩmA”. Black lead to “COM”.
  2. Set RANGE switch to desired OHM position.
  3. If the resistance being measured is connected to a circuit, turn off power and discharge all capacitors before measuring.
  4. Connect test leads to the circuit being measured.
  5. Read resistance value on Digital Display.

DIODE MEASUREMENT

  1. Red lead to “VΩmA”, Black lead to “COM”.
  2. Set RANGE switch to “ ” position.
  3. Connect the red test lead to the anode of the diode to be measured and black test lead to cathode.
  4. The forward voltage drop in mV will be displayed. If the diode is reversed, figure “1” will be shown.

TRANSISTOR HFE MEASUREMENT

  1. Set RANGE switch to the hFE position.
  2. Determine whether the transistor is PNP of NPN type and locate the Emitter, Base and Collector leads. Insert the leads into the proper holes of the hFE Socket on the front panel.
  3. The meter will display the approximate hFE value at the condition of base current 10μA and VCE2.8V.

BATTERY AND FUSE REPLACEMENT

The fuses usually don’t need replacement and will only blow up as a result of an operation error. If “ ” indicator appears on the display, it means that the battery should be replaced. To replace battery & Fuse (500mA/250V) remove the 2 screws in the bottom of the case, then remove the old battery or Fuse and replace with new ones. Be careful to observe polarity.
