Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Horsch-JD Bridge. The Horsch-JD Bridge
is designed to bridge the communication between a Horsch Leeb PT280 sprayer
(autosteer ready) and a John Deere display (1800, 2600, 2630, or 4640). This
allows a JD display to create maps in the John Deere format and also provides
straight AB-Line autosteer.
The operator used the JD display to create AB-lines. The current position is
determined by a John Deere receiver and all this information is used by the
Horsch-JD Bridge to create steering instructions for the tractor. All
conditions for autosteer such as minimum speed, steering enabled etc. must be
met by the Horsch system before the autosteer engage option in the tractor can
be activated.
NOTICE
This manual is not intended to replace the manuals for the sprayer or the John
Deere system. The operator must read and understand the manuals and
instructions of these systems, before using the Horsch-JD Bridge.
Installation of the Horsch-JD Bridge
Step 1: Mounting the Horsch-JD Bridge
The Horsch-JD Bridge is installed right of the driver seat.
The plastic cover with the buttons can be lifted up.
You also want to open the side panel, accessable when the side door is opened.
Access through side panel. You will find 6 connectors. 4 of which are 2-pin deutsch,
the other 2 are the black 3pin connectors.
In the picture they are already connected to the Horsch-JD bridge adaptor
cable.
The connectors are marked on the Horsch side and on the Bridge side. Simply
match them. The black 3-pin are not marked, however only one has 3 cables, so
again match the 3 cable 3pin with the 3cable 3pin in the sprayer.
Power is connected to a 3 pin white
connector located towards the side panel, viewable only from the top.
RESUME BUTTON
The blue loose wire from the Bridge adaptor is the resume wire. It must be
connected to a momentary switch to ground.
For testing purpose you may simply touch the wire to a frame ground.
The switch shown in the photo is NOT
supplied!
You may also choose a different location or switch.
Connect the blue wire to a momentary open switch, connect the other part of
the switch to ground, creating a short to ground whenevver the switch is
activated.
The Horsch-JD bridge may be installed in the slidejust before the side access
panel.
Remove the 2 13 mm bolts and slide
the panel out.
Bolt the Agra-GPS Horsch-JD Bridge with the cabling towards the bottom on th
epanel and slide it back in. Step 2: Mounting
the JD Display
The mounts for the JD display are NOT part of the Horsch-JD Bridge, however
they can either be ordered as an optional item from AgraGPS or directly from
RAM.
The JD-display may be mounted many different ways.
You may use the standard JD mounts or
a RAM mount. RAM-270U + 2 1.5″ balls (RAM-202U) + 4″ double socket arm
(RAM201U)
http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-270U
Here the 2630 was mounted above a Mueller ISO terminal.
Step 3: Mounting the JD Receiver
The Horsch-JD Bridge does NOT include a standard JD-receiver bracket, however
the sprayer has a mount point right behind the cab.
Step 4: Adjusting steering
Using the JD display you may adjust your steering performance. Most machines
will perform optimally with all JD settings at 100. If a change is required,
find an open area where you can travel at target speed and adjust one
parameter at a time until you are satisfied with the steering performance.
