Smartmi Air Purifier P2 User Manual
Portable
WARNING
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Make sure the purifier is turned off and unplugged before performing the maintenance.
CAUTION
Moving
- Turn off and unplug the purifier before moving it.
Installation
- Do not turn on the purifier when the filter is not installed properly.
- Maintain a distance of at least 20 cm between the air inlets and walls or other objects.
Cleaning
- Frequently remove dust, hair, and other particles from the outer mesh screen of the filter, so as to reduce the chance of bacteria growth.
- Remove dust, hair, and particles from the purifier’s air inlets to prevent a reduction of air intake.
- Cover the air outlet to prevent dust, hair, and other particles from falling in when the purifier is left unused for a long time.
- Please refrain from using products containing sodium hypochlorite, sodium chlorite, alcohol, and other strong oxidizing ingredients to wipe the surface of the device to avoid causing discoloration or damage.
Power adapter
To avoid fire, electric shocks, or other damage, use the power adapter and electrical outlet as instructed below:
- The power adapter must be plugged into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Do not excessively pull, twist or bend the power adapter, as this may expose or break the cord’s core.
- Always unplug the purifier before carrying out maintenance to or moving the air purifier.
- Use the power adapter that is provided with the purifier, do not use any third party power adapters.
- When the power adapter is damaged, it must be replaced with a genuine power adapter purchased from the manufacturer or after-sales service department.
Battery
- The chemicals contained in the lithium-ion battery built into this product can pollute the environment. Before disposing of the product, the battery must be removed from the product by a professional and handed over to a designated battery recycling station for centralized disposal. Please do not damage the battery casing to avoid causing harm.
- Before removing the battery, ensure that the battery has run out and the power supply disconnected.
- In daily use and maintenance, please avoid disassembling the battery by yourself. Once disassembled, the product will have to be disposed of.
- Detach the anti-tamper trim at the bottom, remove the bottom screws, unplug the power cord, take out the base, remove the metal case, dismantle the grille and circuit board, and then remove the battery. Please do not damage the battery casing to avoid causing harm.
In Use
- Immediately stop using the purifier when it makes unusual sounds, gives off bad odors, overheats, or its fan rotates irregularly.
- Do not stick your fingers or foreign objects into the protective parts, movable parts, air inlets, or air outlets.
- Keep objects such as hairs or fabrics away from the purifier to avoid blocking the air inlets or air outlets.
- Do not sit on, lean on or tilt the purifier.
- When using in conjunction with gas-fueled appliances (such as gas stoves, gas heaters), please ventilate sufficiently to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Do not pour liquids, nor throw powders or other small substances into the purifier’s air outlet.
Use Restrictions
- Do not use the purifier in the following circumstances, as they may result in electric shocks, fire, or other damage:
- Near open flames, such as candles, incense burners, stoves, fireplaces, cigarettes, firecrackers, lighters, multipurpose torches, candle lighters, or fire pans.
- Near appliances that generate high temperatures, such as electric heaters, fan heaters, electric foot warmers, electric stoves, electric irons, Make sure no inflammable objects get into the purifier.
- In unstable locations where the purifier can easily fall over.
- In environments that are extremely hot, humid, or damp, such as bathrooms.

Auto: Automatically adjust purification efficiency in accordance with indoor
air quality.
Sleep: Operate in ultra-low noise mode.
Favorite: Defaults to maximum; set the user area you wish to cover, adjust
purification efficiency, and save settings through the through app.
PM2.5 Value Display
The number indicates the PM2.5 value, and the color represents the current level of pollution:
1-20 Green – Healthy
21-35 Yellow – Light pollution
36-75 Orange – Mild pollution
75 Red – Heavy pollution
PM10 Value Display
Color changes according to PM10 concentration:
0-9 Green
10-17 Yellow
17 Red
Prompt: When both PM2.5 and PM10 are green, only the PM2.5 value is displayed. If there is a difference between the levels, the more serious one is displayed.
Wi-Fi Indicator
Battery Level Indicator
Plug-in Status:
When charging, the current power level flashes, and the battery level
indicator is green.
When the battery is fully charged, the battery level indicator is green, as
shown in the figure.
Battery Status:
When the power is off, the power indicator is on gray.
When the power drops to 2 cells, the power indicator turns yellow.
It turns orange when the power drops to 1 cell.
Installation
- 20cm or more
Placement
To allow the purifier to operate as effectively as possible, maintain a suitable distance between its air inlet and obstructions such as walls (see figure above).
Note: For optimal air purification, keep doors and windows closed during use.
Connect the power supply
Connect power adapter to the power port at the bottom of the main unit. Then connect the power adapter to a power socket.
Use
Power on/ Standby
Touch the Power on/ Standby Button to turn it on.
In the power-on state, touch the Power on/ Standby Button to turn it off.
Timing
When the device is turned on, touch the Timing Button to cycle through “1h-2h- 4h-8h-cancel” and start the timer. The device will automatically switch to Standby after the timer has run out.
Prompt: The main interface will display the time remaining after it has been set.
Switching mode
When the device is turned on, touch the Mode Button to cycle through operating modes.
Battery level indication and charging
Connected to a power supply
After the purifier has been connected to the power supply, the screen will be
as shown in the figure on the right and then return to the main interface or
shut off.
Fully charged
When the purifier is fully charged, the screen will be as shown in the figure
on the right and then return to the main interface or shut off.
Battery powered
When the power is cut off after the device has been turned on, the screen will
be as shown in the figure on the right and then return to the main interface.
Adjust the display brightness/ night light.
When the device is turned on, touch the Brightness Button to cycle through the options for screen brightness (full brightness, half brightness, and off). Press and hold the Brightness Button for 3s to dim the night light. Press and hold for another 3s to gradually turn up the night light.
Prompt: Adjust the night light RGB color in the app
Turn battery power off/on
Press and hold the Brightness Button and the Power on/ Standby Button at the same time for 5s. The battery power can be turned off/on after the purifier has beeped.
Prompt: When powered on, the device uses the power adapter to supply power and charge the battery; when the device is unplugged, the battery is automatically activated. The whole device switches off after the battery power has been used up.
Linking the Device to Smartmi Link
This product has been linked to the Smartmi Link and can be controlled using
the app.
Scan the QR code or search for “Smartmi Link” on the app store to download and
install the app. Go to the app’s homepage, click “+” in the middle of the
page, then add the device as prompted.
Note:
- Please ensure that your Wi-Fi network is both available and has Internet access. Place your phone as close to this product as possible. (This product does not support 5G networks).
- This product will be listed as “Smartmi Air Purifier P2” in the app’s device listing.
Intelligent Control with Apple HomeKit
(1) Open the Home app on your iPhone/iPad.
( 2) Tap “Add Accessory” and then scan the HomeKit setup code on the
product sticker (two stickers on the device unit, see illustration), or enter
the eight-digit setup code above the HomeKit Setup Code. The device will then
be linked to the Apple Home app.
The device can be linked to Smartmi Link after linking to HomeKit. Go to the
Personal Info page on Smartmi Link. Tap “HomeKit Info” and then link the
HomeKit device as prompted.
Devices linked to Smartmi Link can also be added to HomeKit. Go to the Device
Control page on Smartmi Link. Tap “Add to HomeKit” in “Settings” and then link
the device to HomeKit as prompted.
HomeKit Setup Code
Note:
- Please ensure that your Wi-Fi network is both available and has Internet access.Place your phone as close to this product as possible. (This product does not support 5G networks).
- To control this accessory which is compatible with HomeKit, it is recommended to use iOS 13.0 or a later version.
- Please keep the HomeKit setup code, as you will need to scan the code to link the device to HomeKit after a factory reset.
- iPad and iPhone are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.
- Controlling this HomeKit-enabled accessory automatically and away from home requires a HomePod, Apple TV, or iPad set up as a home hub. It is recommended that you update to the latest software and operating system.
Resetting Wi-Fi
Press and hold the Mode Button and Timing Button at the same time for 5s. The Wi-Fi can be reset after the purifier has beeped.
Turning Wi-Fi On/Off
Press and hold the Timing Button for 5s. The Wi-Fi can be turned off/on after the purifier has beeped.
Resetting Purifier
Hold down the “Switching Modes” and “Power on/ Standby” buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. After you hear a sound, the purifier has been reset successfully.
Screensaver
A screensaver animation is displayed after 60s of no operation, and the screensaver color reflects the air quality. Press any button to restore to its previous state.
Filter Replacement and Reset

Filter installation reminder
No filter is detected, or the filter installed is not certified.
Filter replacement reminder
Filters should be replaced every 6–12 months. The app will send a reminder
when the filter’s lifespan reaches 10% or less.
Once filter life drops below 10%, the Power on/Standby button will blink every
time you turn on the machine. Please replace the filter as soon as possible to
ensure normal operation and optimal air purification.

- Replace the filter in a timely manner when prompted.
- Please purchase certified compatible filters from official channels only.
Replacing and Resetting the Filter
(1) Turn over the purifier and remove the filter by rotating it
counterclockwise.
(2) Replace the filter by following the instructions contained in the
user manual.
Note: Power off purifier and disconnect it from the power supply before performing the following operations.
Reset filter
Replace the filter, and then press and hold the Mode Button for 5s with the device turned on. The purifier will beep when the filter has successfully been reset.
Maintenance and care
Power off purifier and disconnect it from the power supply before performing the following operations.
Cleaning the filter housing
01 Turn over the purifier and remove the filter by rotating it
counterclockwise.
02 Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the ventilation hole and cabin
walls, or wipe them using a soft cloth.
03 Re-install the filter after it has been cleaned.
Note: Do not spray liquid onto the purifier’s casing, or wipe it using a wet cloth. This could lead to drops of water leaking into the base of the device.
Cleaning laser particulate matter sensor
01 Turn over the purifier and remove the filter by rotating it
counterclockwise.
02 Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws on the sensor cover.
03 Remove the cover and clean it with a hair dryer or pneumatic air gun.
04 Once cleaning is finished, fix the cover back onto the sensor and tighten
the screws.
Note: Do NOT clean with hot air.
