Product Information

The product is a basketball hoop, also known as a basketball  basket or basketball ring. It comes with a base, pole, backboard,  rim, and net. The height of the hoop is 248.5 cm. The product is  manufactured by Jula AB and may be subject to changes without notice. The user manual is copyrighted by Jula AB and should not be altered in any way.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Read the safety instructions before using the product.
  2. Assemble the product according to the instructions provided in the manual.
  3. Align the wheels (6) in the slots on the base (2).
  4. Have another person hold the lower part of the pole (3) at the front edge of the base.
  5. Align the holes in the braces (4) with the 4 holes in the base and secure with screws (4).
  6. Secure the lower part of the pole (3) with screws (2) and tighten well.
  7. Fill the base with sand while another person holds the product steady.
  8. Attach the backboard (5) to the pole using screws (3) and tighten well.
  9. Attach the rim (7) to the backboard using screws (1) and tighten well.
  10. Attach the net (8) to the rim using the provided fasteners.

The basketball hoop should be used in a safe environment and under adult supervision. It is not suitable for children under  three years old. For the latest version of operating instructions, refer to the Jula website.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read these instructions before use and save them for future reference.

  • Failure to follow all the instructions and safety instructions can result in a risk of serious personal injury and/or death. It will also invalidate the warranty.
  • At least one adult should supervise to make sure that all the players are familiar with and follow the instructions to ensure safe use. These instructions should be enclosed with the product if it is sold or passed on.
  • Always follow the assembly instructions for best functionality and safe use. Check that no parts or instructions are left in the packaging. Read all the instructions carefully before assembly and check that all the parts and assembly parts are included.
  • Assemble, use and supervise the product only in accordance with these instructions for best functionality and to reduce the risk of personal injury and/or material damage. If the product is not assembled, maintained and used correctly there is a risk of serious personal injury.
  • Keep children under supervision to make sure they do climb on, sit, lean, adjust or move the product, or use it incorrectly in any way. Failure to follow all these safety instructions can lead to a risk of material damage and/or serious personal injury.
  • The product is not intended for commercial use. The product is only intended for household use indoors.
  • Be careful if a ladder is used for assembly. Follow all the instructions and safety instructions for the ladder.
  • Check the base for leakage before use. Gradual leakage can cause the product to tip over unexpectedly.
  • Always check all parts for wear and damage before use. Do not use the product if any parts are damaged. Contact the retailer for spare parts. Only use assembly parts and accessories recommended by the manufacturer. Other  parts may not have the necessary strength and stability, which could result in personal injury and/or material damage.
  • Fit the parts of post together correctly and tighten all parts. Otherwise the parts can fall apart when in use and/or when transported.
  • Climate, corrosion and incorrect use can damage the product.
  • Contact the retailer in the event of any problems.
  • Most personal injuries are a result of incorrect use and/or failure to follow the instructions. Be careful when using the product.
  • Do not hang or climb on any part of the product, such as the ring, board, strut or net.
  • Avoid knocking into the ring, board or net with the face during use – risk of serious injury to face and/or teeth.
  • Do not climb, shake or play on the base and/or post.
  • Fill the product full of sand when the base is fitted. Never leave the product upright without filling the base with sand – the product can tip over and cause personal injury and/or material damage.
  • Keep your hands and fingers away from moving parts when moving and/or adjusting the height.
  • Do not allow children to move or adjust the product. Do not wear jewellery or wristwatch when in use. Such items can fasten in the net. Place the product on a dry, level and stable surface. The surface under the base should be smooth and free from gravel and sharp objects. Puncturing can cause leakage, which can cause the product to tip over.
  • Keep organic material away from the base. Grass and rubbish can cause corrosion and/or decomposition. Check the product for corrosion touch it up with enamel paint if necessary. Replace the post if the steel is rusted through at any point.
  • Do not use the product in bad weather or strong wind – risk of product tipping over. Place the product in a sheltered place where there are no overhead cables.
  • Make sure no parts are displaced when moving the product.
  • Make sure not to subject the base to extra strain, and that no one stands or sits on the base when the product is moved.
  • Do not use the product or leave it unattended when moving.
  • Be careful when moving the product over an uneven surface – risk of it tipping over.
  • Do not hang or swing on the product.
  • Place the product so that there is enough space around it to use. Do not place the product near live electric cables, other cables or drains.
  • Never use the product for anything other than its intended purpose. Incorrect use can result in a risk of serious personal injury and/or material damage.
  • The assembly should be carried out by 2 persons, otherwise there is a risk of serious personal injury and/or material damage.

ASSEMBLY

  1. First fit the following parts.

    • Bottom part of post (3)
    • Wheel (6)
    • Base (9)
    • Axle (10)
  2. Fit the wheels (6) in the slots in the base (2). Allow an other person to put the bottom part of the post (3) on the front edge of the base.

  3. Put the axle (10) through the hole, through one wheel, the bottom part of the post and through the other wheel.

  4. Align with holes in the strut (4) to the 4 holes in the base and screw the base in place with the screws (4).

  5. Secure the bottom part of the post (3) with the screws (2) and tighten.

  6. Fill the base with sand while another person holds the product. FIG. 5

  7. Put the middle part of the post (2) over the bottom part (3) and align the screw holes to each other.

  8. Secure with the screws (1) and tighten. FIG. 6

  9. Fit the board and ring.

  10. Put the plate on the top part of the post (1) on the back of the board (5) and then put the plate on the ring (7) in the slot on the front of the board.

  11. Screw the 3 parts together with the screws (3) and firmly tighten.
    FIG. 7 NOTE:
    The board should be between the metal parts for best stability.

  12. Hook the net (8) on the attachments on the ring.

  13. Put the top part of the post on the middle part and align the screw holes to each other. Put in the 2 clamping devices (5) and firmly tighten.

  14. Adjust to the required height by releasing the clamping devices (5), adjusting the top part of the post to the required height and tightening the clamping devices.
    FIG. 8 IMPORTANT:
    The height must be adjusted by an adult.
