INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
OPMW Open LED Surface Direct Wall Wash
These installation instructions are used for installing the following luminaires and kits:

WARNING: Please read the “important safety instructions” prior to installation of this product.
Identification of OPM4/OPM4W/OPMS/OPMW
IMPORTANT: Each luminaire section MUST BE paired with its corresponding driver enclosure. Look for matching numbers on the luminaire and driver enclosure packaging boxes.
Overview of Completed Installation
Each luminaire (4’, 6’ and 8’) section requires its own driver enclosure.
Remote Driver Installation for Grid Ceilings (F1)
For On-Grid Installations follow Steps 1-3 then skip to Step 7: In an
accompanying hardware box, locate a Univeral Mounting Bracket (UMB). Insert
bolt into bottom hole of Bracket A, then hook Bracket A onto grid.| Hook
Bracket B onto Bracket A. Letters are clearly marked on the UMB.

Adjust brackets to proper location along the ceiling grid then screw sides A
to B together Secure the brackets to the building structure per local building
codes.| For Off-Grid Installations skip Steps 1-3 and begin here at Step 4: In
an accompanying hardware box, locate a Univeral Mounting Bracket. Insert bolt
into Bracket A. Hook Bracket B onto Bracket A. Secure with nut (DO NOT
TIGHTEN).

Slide hanger (by others) onto Caddy Bar and fit Caddy Bar into upper slots in
bracket.| Adjust brackets to proper location along the ceiling grid then screw
sides A to B together Secure the brackets to the building structure per local
building codes.
|
Locate the matching driver enclosure box for the luminaire section currently
being installed. Remove cover from provided 1-box by unscrewing (2) #8 screws.
Attach black bushing to 1-Box.| Hang 1-box assembly onto Bracket A tab then
screw 1-box to bracket.
|
Position field mounting tray in desired locations across a 2′ section of the
ceiling grid. Adjust bar hangers to correct width by loosening side screw and
then re-tightening to lock in place. Secure ends of bar hangers to T-bar using
provided T-bar clips and screws. T-bare clips and #10 screws can be found in a
prepacked plastic bag.|
Luminaire Installation for Grid Ceiling (F1)
At power feed locations: Insert feed cord with pre-installed molex connectors
(leading out from luminaire) into J-box through bushings and canopy. Place
canopy flush with ceiling tile. Thread cable retainer onto bolt. Connect wire
connectors and install the cover to the J-box with screws.| At non power feed
locations: Assemble UMB onto grid (as in C1-3) or caddy bar (as in (C4-6)
Place canopy flush with ceiling tile Thread cable retainer onto bolt no less
than V4″ of the way up.

Raise starter (or individual) luminaire into position. Insert air craft cable
into gripper by loosening the safety cap atop the cable hanger. Re-tighten
safety cap and insert extra cable into end cap hole. Repeat Step 3 on both
ends of the luminaire.| Lift the next unit to the same level as first
unit,remove the screw from the joiner.

Align and push together the two units to join. Put the(2) #10 screws on to
secure the two joiner brackets.| Install the seam eraser white optic piece in
the down light housing across the joint beam between the two connected
sections.
|
Adjust seam eraser to fit in the housing arch profile and sit the eraser on
the LED cover groove not blocking emitting light.| Repeat step 3 to 8 as
nesseary to complete the installation of multiple sections run.Level the end
unit by adjusting cable gripper and tighten all cable gripper caps.

Unscrew and remove acess plate on driver box. Run building wires to driver
box. Knock out one hole in access plate. Pass building wires through hol.
Perform wire splices,insert wires back into enclosure and reattach access
plate.|
Driver Box Input Wiring (F1&F2)
OPEN driver box runs on specific AC voltage (120,277,347 VAC) with a
nomenclature label applied on top of driver box. Please validate the voltage
against the label before power up any driver box to avoid any damage to driver
box components. The access plate can be unscrewed to access the AC input wires
and DC dimming input wires to the driver boxes.
AC Input Wires: Black–AC Hot #A, Red–AC Hot #B, White–Neutral, Green–Ground,
Orange–Emergency Hot (Or Un-switched Line), White/Orange stripe –Emergency
Neutral.
Dimming Input Wires: Purple–0-10V/DALI + (Dimming #A), Pink–0-10V/DALI –
(Dimming #A), Blue–010V+ (Dimming #B), White/Blue Stripe–0-10V- (Dimming #B).
There is also tag label bundle onto the input wires at access plate. For
Nlight-enabled driver boxes, the Nlight controller needs to connect to Nlight
network through CAT5E cable (provided by others).
Remote Driver Installation for Hard Surface Ceilings (F2)
Locate matching driver enclosures for each luminaire and place in electrical
room. Secure the driver enclosure with mounting brackets (provided)and screws
(by others).| Alternate Double Driver Box.

Luminaire Installation for Hard Surface Ceilings(F2)
At power feed locations: Install a 4″ octagonal 1-box (by others) into the
ceiling. Make sure the bottom edge sits flush with ceiling level..| Attach a
mounting strap to the 1-box using (2) #8 screws and fasten securely..

Secure the cable retainer to the V4-20 stud.| At non-feed locations,: Secure
‘4-20 stud approximately 3/8″ to 5/8″ below ceiling. Insert canopy and
securely fasten the cable retainer.
|
Raise starter (or individual) luminaire into position. Insert air craft cable
into gripper by loosening the safety cap atop the cable hanger. Re-tighten
safety cap and insert extra cable into end cap hole. Repeat Step 3 on both
ends of the luminaire.| Lift the next unit to the same level as the front
unit.

Align and push together the two units to join. Put the (2) #10 screws on to
secure the two joiner brackets together.Put the seam eraser white optic piece
in the down light housing across the middle beam between the two joined
sections.| Repeat step 5 to 7 as necessary to complete the installation of
multiple sections run. Level the end unit by adjusting the cable gripper and
tighten all cable gripper caps afterwards. Hide extra length cable under
mounting bracket.

Insert white 7/8″ bushing on luminaire power cord.Remove canopy and pass the
luminarie power cord through the canopy.Using wire connectors to connect
matched color wires . Install the insulated crimp strain relief above the
canopy.Reinstall the canopy to mounting strap.|
Connect red, black, green, white, blue, brown, yellow and orange wires coming out of the driver enclosure and into terminal blocks to matching set of colored wires (by others) leading to luminaire. Next, at the luminaire, connect run of wires (by others) to terminal blocks underneath J-box making sure colors match . Unscrew and remove access plate on driver enclosure. Run building wires to driver enclosure. Knock out one of the hole in access plate. Pass building wires through hole. Perform wire splices, insert wires back into enclosure and reattach access plate.
IMPORTANT:
Run wires (by others) from the driver enclosure to the luminaire following
these requirements below. Maximum distance must not be exceeded.

Cat-5e Installation for Integrated Sensor
Connect Cat-5e cable into receptacle of sensor on the topside of the
luminaire.| Connect other end of Cat-5e cable by passing cord through bushing
on canopy then over and into the power pack attached on side of the driver
enclosure. For hard ceiling installations use longer Cat-5e cable (by others)
to reach driver enclosure. A coupler is provided.| For Dual Circuit Control
,the two power packs need to connect to each other with a CAT-5E cable.The
third unused power pack port can be used to connect nlight network, the fourth
port can be used to connect to embedded sensor from luminaire .

Emergency Power Installation
Identify the matching emergency driver enclosure for the section needs to be
installed.Follow the instruction of Remote Driver installation for Grid
Ceilings step 1 to 8. Install test switch to the extension plug,shove the
extra harness back to driverbox.| Position field mounting tray in desired
locations across a 2′ section of the ceiling grid. Adjust bar hangers to
correct width by loosening side screw and then re-tightening to lock in place.
Secure ends of bar hangers to T-bar using provided T-bar clips and screws.
T-bare clips and #10 screws can be found in a prepacked plastic bag.| Install
the test switch for the emergency battery pack on the canopy which under the
junction box.Connect the wires in the juntion box according to the instruction
of installing remote driver luminarie for grid ceilings.
