Luminaire Installation for Wall mount (F2)

Peerless-RNNAWI-Renna-LED-
Tunable-Luminaire-FIG 8

  1. Laser level to mark a line for hole locations in bracket.

  2. The Renna run should start on a stud. Mark the point where the center of the first stud crosses the level line from step 1. If the run must start between studs, add structural blocking behind the wall to anchor the wall bracket.Peerless-RNNAWI-Renna-LED-Tunable-Luminaire-FIG 9

  3. Align the first hole on the wall bracket with the mark from Step 2. Then determine the location where the Mini J-box should be installed. Mounting holes on the j-box should align with holes on the wall bracket that fall between the same studs where the feed circuit was installed. Once you’ve picked a location for the j-box, mark the center of the wall bracket holes it will mount to on your level line from Step 1.

  4. Remove the Wall Bracket and place the Mini J-box opening against the wall, aligning its mounting holes with the points marked in step 3. Use a pencil to trace a cut line around the j-box onto the wall.

  5. Cut drywall to the inside of the traced cut line, being careful not to cut into the feed circuit hanging inside the wall.Peerless-RNNAWI-Renna-LED-Tunable-Luminaire-FIG 10

  6. Pull the conduit containing the feed circuit through the hole in the drywall. Punch out the knock-out in the Mini J-box, feed conductors through the hole, and connect the conduit with a 1/2″ trade-size conduit connector (by others).

  7. Punch out a knock-out in the wall bracket aligning with the Mini J-box and install the included strain-relief in the hole.

  8. Feed bare ends of cord through the strain relief, make connections with wires coming through conduit.

  9. Attach Mini J-Box to the back of the bracket with included #8-32 screw and nut hardware.

  10. Prepare sub-assembly of wall bracket end cap , wall bracket and 2X cantilever arms using 3X #6-32 screws (from the kit) partially tightened as shown.
For U8 luminaires, use 2X 4ft wall brackets butted end-to-end, joined with a third cantilever arm.

  11. Feed the excess conduit and j-box into the hole in the wall. Press the wall bracket against the wall and drive a #8 (minimum) screw appropriate for the studs through the first hole into the stud on the mark from step 1. Drive a second screw through the last hole on the right end of the bracket that aligns with a stud [the diagram in Step 2 shows the hole alignment for 16″ stud pitch].

  12. Route the cord to the left end of the wall bracket where the fixture run will begin and hang the connector over the end of the cantilever arm. Loop the excess cord down the length of the wall bracket, letting the tension in the bend in the cord hold it between the flanges of the wall bracket.

  13. Pivot and hook the luminaire using 2X flanges on both ends and place it onto the wall brackets as shown. Slide and adjust the cantilever arm on both sides (within the bracket slot) to ensure that the knuckle screw from luminaire is aligned to center of cantilever arm slot properly for fastening.

  14. Once the luminaire is adjusted, tighten the luminaire to the cantilever arm on both sides using 2X locknuts (provided in kit). Tighten the 3X screws mounted in step C10. TORQUE: 8.2-9.2 in. lbs.

  15. After the luminaire is assembled, loosen the set screw from the luminaire knuckle. Slide the end cap towards the luminaire and fasten it to the luminaire using the set screw. TORQUE: 4.2-5.8 in. lbsPeerless-RNNAWI-Renna-LED-Tunable-Luminaire-FIG 13

  16. Remove the washer head screw on top of fixture bracket. Once end cap is assembled, locate the left cantilever cover above the end cap. Fasten it to the luminaire using the washer head screw and a #6 screw (provided in the kit). TORQUE: 8.2-9.2 in.lbs

  17. Align the end cover with the wall bracket and mount it to the wall. Fasten it to the cantilever using 1X screw (provided in the kit). Assemble the end cap and right cantilever cover similar to steps C15-C16 on the other side of the luminaire.

  18. FOR THE RUN:
Assemble the first luminaire and the wall bracket in the run according to steps C1-C16.Peerless-RNNAWI-Renna-LED-Tunable-Luminaire-FIG

  25. Install the reflector (provided in the kit) using 2X #6-32 screws (from the kit) to the luminaire housing as shown. Ensure that the wire harness is properly located below the kicker to avoid pinching.
    TORQUE: 6.0-7.0 in.lbs

  26. Remove 2X washer head screws from the top of luminaire. Assemble the mid-span joiner cover (from the kit) above the cantilever assembly and fasten it using same washer head screws. Repeat steps C19-C25 on all intermediate luminaires.
    TORQUE: 8.2-9.2 in.lbs

  27. Align the right end cover with the wall bracket and mount it to the wall. Fasten it to the cantilever using 1X #6-32 screw (provided in the kit).
