PENTAIR NS6-PUV16-P Whole House Installation Kit

PARTS OF THE SYSTEM

  • A) One (1) Roll of Plumber’s Tape
  • B) One (1) John Guest 1” Male NPT Connector
  • C) Three (3) John Guest 1” NPT to Stem
  • D) One (1) John Guest to Clack 1” Stainless Flex Pipe
  • E) One (1) Clack to Female Threaded 1” Stainless Flex Pipe
  • F) One (1) Male to Male 1” Brass Hex Nipple
  • G) One (1) Female Threaded to John Guest 1” Stainless Flex Pipe

Parts Items

INSTALLATION

Note: Before starting this step, be sure to have your prefilter housing mounted following the instructions that came with the system you purchased.

  1. Wrap (A) plumber’s tape two (2) to three (3) times around the threaded end of the (B) John Guest 1” Male NPT Connector.
  2. Thread fitting into inlet side of prefilter housing. Hand tighten and follow with one (1) to two (2) turns using a wrench.
  3. Wrap plumber’s tape two (2) to three (3) times around the threaded end of one (1) of the (C) John Guest 1” NPT to Stem.
  4. Thread fitting into the outlet side of prefilter housing. Hand tighten and follow with one (1) to two (2) turns using a wrench.
  5. Bring main cold water line from street and plug into John Guest connection on inlet side of the prefilter. Pull out slightly to ensure a solid connection.
  6. Push John Guest quick connect end of (D) John Guest to Clack 1” Stainless Flex Pipe on to the outlet Male Stem of the prefilter. Pull out slightly to ensure a solid connection.
  7. Attach Clack quick connect end of (D) John Guest to Clack 1” Stainless Flex Pipe to inlet side of Tank Bypass. Hand tighten only.
  8. Attach Clack quick connect end of (E) Clack to Female Threaded 1” Stainless Flex Pipe to outlet side of the Tank Bypass. Hand tighten only.
  9. Wrap (A) plumber’s tape two (2) to three (3) times around both threaded ends of UV chamber.
  10. Thread the female threaded end of (E) Clack to Female Threaded 1” Stainless Flex Pipe to the inlet threaded connection on the UV system. Hand tighten and follow with one (1) to two (2) turns with wrench.
  11. Thread the Flow Restrictor (Provided in UV parts) to the outlet threaded connection of the UV system. Hand tighten and follow with one (1) to two (2) turns with wrench.
  12. Wrap (A) plumber’s tape two (2) to three (3) times around both ends of (F) Male to Male 1” Hex Nipple.
  13. Thread the 1” Hex Nipple into the outlet of the Flow Restrictor. Hand tighten and follow with one (1) to two (2) turns with wrench.
  14. Thread the female threaded end of (G) Female Threaded to John Guest 1” Stainless Flex Pipe on to the 1” Hex Nipple. Hand tighten and follow with one (1) to two (2) turns with wrench. Push John Guest connection end of (G) Female Threaded to John Guest 1” Stainless Flex Pipe on to water line going into the home. Pull out slightly to ensure a proper connection.

Special Note for PVC Customers: John Guest fittings will only connect to Copper, cPVC and PEX. For your convenience, we have included 2 additional (C) John Guest 1” NPT to Stem fittings to convert your PVC pipes to the Installation Kit. Simply insert the stem ends of each fitting into the John Guest Ends of the Flex Pipe and inlet side of the prefilter, then thread your PVC to the Male threaded NPT ends of the Stem fittings.
